  1. Power has been unstable around here over the last couple of months. My UPS has logged two power outages long enough for it to do its thing in the last week. My router is protected by the UPS, so no outage inside the house, but the electronics outside my house are not.
  2. It's an easy enough fix, but do wonder what's causing this. I'm using Chrome and am on True Fibre. How 'bout you? Anyone else experiencing this problem, or are we the only two?
  3. @frostfire, Having the same problem again with pages loading slowly. The screenshot below is a message I see until the browser automatically does a page reload, then if I wait long enough (several minutes) the page will eventually load. As before a reboot of the router solves the problem, so it's quite possible the issue is originating on my end of the line. What's strange though is PT is the only site that I'm seeing a slow response time. Any ideas on what may be causing this?
  4. For years my favorite kebab stand has been Ket's with two locations on Soi Diana. I've stuck with them through price increases as they've been relatively small at 10B increases every year or two. Last year the price increase was to 70B, but a few months later they bumped it to 80B. No problem as I'm aware food prices have increased quite a bit since the end of the pandemic. However I was quite surprised the other night to see they've bumped the price again to 100B, a 20B increase. When measured against the 70B price a year ago, that's a 42% increase! Based on my photo survey of the o
  5. Riding by the new Nirun food market this morning it occurred to me there's still no thought given to wheelchair access on new construction. Then I got to the other side and saw they've thoughtfully provided motorbike access.
  6. It was brought to my attention on another forum the NA/AA signs on the windows of the bar. When I saw the post it jogged my memory that I had heard some time ago there was an AA meeting place on Soi Skaw Beach. Sure enough, that's the location of Nok! Nok! Who's There. If could be it was the single shop house to left of the bar that you saw was for sale as I believe there's still a for sale sign up on the metal shutter. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Skaw+Beach+AA+Meeting+Room/@12.9317935,100.883962,21z/data=!4m10!1m2!2m1!1saa+pattaya!3m6!1s0x310297f188bcd7cf:0xc65c9bfd81a7a
  7. You can check your current limit and usage by selecting My Attachments under your profile drop down list in the upper right corner. Personally, I always resize to 1600 x 1200 because the pics upload faster, and the files take up less server space. While the cost of disk storage has gone down, it still costs $'s, so I'll help where I can on saving on the storage bill.
  8. That was the plan. Map from 2018. https://www.globalconstructionreview.com/thailand-gives-green-light-72bn-high-speed-rail-pp/
  9. The forgotten high-speed railway project just got unforgotten. Good news on eastern corridor high-speed railway Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is vowing to push for a high-speed railway project linking three main airports to ensure the success of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and he expects good news to revive the long-delayed railway project next month. The prime minister voiced support for the 224-billion-baht railway project during his visit to U-Tapao airport in Ban Chang district of this eastern province on Sunday. U-Tapao is one of three main airports that the high-
  10. Friendship has a new mascot I made the mistake of showing my lady the DIY trellis and she wants me to build one for her garden.
  11. I was wondering the same. About 90% of the market stalls directly across from these new ones are sitting empty, and the few that are open I rarely see any customers in.
  12. What I've been calling Nirun Market will be another stop to eat place as confirmed by the Thai workers this morning. Food stalls under the canopy tents and eating area in the center.
  13. Not much left of the WS tree. No matter how sacred the tree is to the Thai's it will eventually crumble under the weight of time. Pics from 1 June.
  14. For those that have gone electric, PEA has charging stations on Tai. CAT on Tai closer to 3rd Rd has a couple of charging stations as well, but they didn't look to be in working order.
  15. On this morning's ride I explored an interesting hidden gem in central Pattaya. It's an undeveloped area off of Pattaya Tai, behind Pattaya City Resort. From the road the new shops going up on Tai look like nothing special. But behind the shops is a nice park area around a small lake. The hidden gem is farther back and on the other side of the lake. There's a dirt road that circles around a large undeveloped area with a lilly filled pond. The area is currently being used to grow various plants. I hope the city sees the value of keeping some green space and that
  16. More construction at the Nirun market site. Wonder what these new structures will house.
  17. I wouldn't be stepping into what's left of this shower with bare feet.
  18. Canopy covers at the new Nirun market going back up this morning.
  19. Sounds like you'll miss the next topless killer pool game by a few days. Some nice titty pictures of the last game, which I'm surprised the FB censors didn't catch. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=122158081118089195&id=61552675856847&__cft__[0]=AZWnN110-tWMSL64JLOhnLDH3DxxoR9phxBtOfbxL46e-tWCzqoQ2srRHxMpDMsTkBf-km5OCe3oRB5LWgM2HhkLdZXWxtN-I7b7FdC875ku0q180F4gkj_F_QeNRPpFcQ4iODoP1R7jVEbgopagyXSAAfRH7ZQymLNTrBLoBBvlr9A9x8tUdr_oMLX_viu8icmNYHUDT5blXf6-_sygJhOv&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R
  20. The footpath around the Bali Hai area is still used as a parking lot in some spots, making it an obstacle course for pedestrians. It's a shame there isn't parking nearby. Oh, wait, what's this directly across the road... There was a news report a week or two ago about the big clean up operation in the Bali Hai marina to get rid of the broken pieces of floating piers and derelict boats. Seems they missed one. Over on WS the old tree is still hanging in there. And those temporary, illegal bridges city officials
