  1. Road barricades, construction security fencing along the beach, and heavy equipment all gone.
  2. Just got back from my morning ride and was going to post the Tue/Fri market on Buakhao is now empty land. Good thing I had a look on another forum first as there was a post with pictures of it having moved to the other side of the road. I was so focused on the empty land, never thought to look across the road.
  3. Crazy the stuff Thai hear, believe and repeat to others as gospel truth.
  4. Don't even have the option of walking in the gutter with all the bikes and cars parked up. Only way to do it is share a lane with traffic. Amazes me the number of pedestrians that having to share a lane with traffic will walk on the side in the same direction as traffic. And don't get me started on the doofuses that walk hand and hand with their teelack with their back to traffic. They're just inviting a bad day.
  5. A shot of this evening's activity around Tree Town. There's a good amount of foot and vehicle traffic, but without the usual crowd sitting and drinking on the footpath along Buakhao. What I find irritating is once again the vendors have taken over 90% of the footpath causing most to walk in the street. IMHO that's going to become a bigger problem once the bars are allowed to open and the crowds return.
  6. Thailand has a central database system called Mor Prom for recording who got what vaccine and when. It's up to the vaccine provider to enter your details into the system. If they did you should have a 13 digit number, which I understand begins with a 6. There are apps for Android and Apple that should allow you to tap into the Mor Prom system and retrieve your vaccination details. Or course Thai programmers being Thai programmers, reviews very from the app doesn't work to it sucks. What's encouraging is they at least have thought to put together a central database. Hopefully in time
  7. Underground drain at the WS entrance was getting worked on this morning. The drainage work at the low point on Sukhumvit near Pattaya Tai looks to have been completed. What is surprising is the area still had flood waters during last Friday's storm that were high enough to force the closure of Sukhumvit.
  8. They've completed the driveway on the front side of Arbour Hotel and Residence, so was able to get a pic of the entrance to their automatic car parking system. Memo to myself, come back and see how well this driveway to the below grade area is working out next time Pattaya floods.
  9. I would be surprised if they didn't have the few bits that washed out fixed by late tomorrow morning. They've got nothing better to do ATM since the beach project has been suspended.
  10. Last batch of pics from Pattaya Tai to Buakhao and ending on 3rd Rd.
  11. The aftermath of today's storm starting at Sukhumvit looking towards Pattaya Tai. Soi Arunotai This was the first test of all the enlarged drains they put in on the soi that runs past M Club. No surprise it was a big fail. I was on my mtn bike and the water was over my seat at the high water mark. That puts the water level just shy of 1m high. Soi 13 looking towards Buakhao Pics of Buakhao This is looking up the soi by R Con where they spent all those months putting in a catch basin and pumps to keep the soi from flooding.
  12. Latest news is the work on the beach has been suspended due to encroachment issues. Puts into doubt the Mayor's earlier assertion this was part of a multi-phase project. If it was you would expect the minor detail of encroachment would have been worked out. New recreation areas 'encroaching' on recently rebuilt Pattaya Beach The Marine Department has ordered Pattaya City to halt the building of recreational areas on the ocean side of the footpath along Beach Road because it may be in in breach of the law, a department official said. Ekarat Kantharo, director of the Regional Mari
  13. Today's excitement on Beach Rd was the removal of an old pump and iron drain pipes. There were two other flatbed trailers parked up nearby, so guessing there's quite a bit they'll be removing today.
  14. Thinking about what they're going to do for parking at the new Arbour Hotel and Residence I decided to back today to get some pics of the green (back side) facing Klang. The lot next door looks like it may be used for parking. The website also has a link to Automated Parking, but the page is blank. Looking at the above picture and the one blow it looks like the first couple of floors might be a parking garage, and the openings with the rollup doors may be the entry. What is strange in the picture below is they have a ramp built going below grade, but that may be temporary
  15. I'm also wondering what they're going to do for parking for all their residents.
  16. Photo update from this afternoon. They've added construction barricades down to Soi 2. And trenching is now to Soi 4.
  17. The construction project on 3rd Rd near Klang that began in February 2019 now has a name and a website. https://www.atmindgroup.com/arbourhotelandresidence/
  18. I'm guessing he used the link below, but they're now fully booked. I expect they'll open registration again for a new batch of dates sometime next week. https://healthrisk.bangkokpattayahospital.com/rvf_covid/rvf_pre.php
  19. I don't see the lack of available funds as the reason for the lack of vaccine. It's more due to poor decisions made starting in November last year as to what the govt was willing to buy. I believe those decisions were driven more by greed and corruption than any real thought what would be best to protect the population. That poor decision making has continued up until only a few weeks ago when the govt finally agreed to budget money for purchasing vaccines other than Sinovac and AZ. The only reason we're seeing anything other than those two right now is due to the donation of Pfizer from the U
  20. UPDATE: Pattaya Mayor addresses the status of the Pattaya Beach remodel project Yesterday, Tuesday (August 17th), Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunploem told the associated local Pattaya press, “The Pattaya beach remodel project is a long-planned continuation of a multi-phase project that started from previously expanding the size and width of the beach sand which was already done several years ago. It is also meant to complement recent water drainage projects and is the next phase of this overall plan. It is not a brand-new project or a replacement for the drainage or sand expansion plans
  21. I'm happy I was able to get my AZ vaccine last week at BPH, but a bit peeved the govt vaccination program is so disorganized there was no hint that if I would have waited a week I could have had Pfizer.
  22. Now working on concrete footings for the footpath extension. Trenching for the footings is up to Soi 1.
  23. Good news... Pattaya beach remodel project paused after several prominent local residents protest Sure hope they're successful in stopping the cycle of destruction/reconstruction that has been happening on Beach Rd every 2-3 years.
  24. It's still a trickle for those in Pattaya. Sad to say the one day they had reserved for the AZ shot is now fully booked.
