  1. Over on the south end of Buakhao, crews are taking down old, unused utility lines.
  2. The finishing touches, and stocking the new 7-11 today. And just up the soi work is progressing slowly on another market next to Nirun.
  3. That would be Ursula Martinez.
  4. A cool halo around the sun now for those in Pattaya.
  5. Don't know the tax system here, so can't say if that's the reason for the garden. Another possibility, as vegetable prices are now quite high due to the drought, someone may have decided to use the land to earn some money from a garden until they plant a building there.
  6. The vacant land next to Pirates on Soi Full Love Inn was fenced in about a month ago and is now being used as a garden.
  7. The video shows they used tattoo guns.
  8. Saw this mentioned on another forum. Can't believe the owner thought this was a good idea. And what were the ladies thinking to allow what amounts to permanent advertising on their body's. And then there are the idiots liking the FB post of this.
  9. Good question on why so many 7-11's. This would be no. 4 in a span of 350 m, if all the others stay open. I watched the guy backing in. He was really working it to get as close to the building as possible for unloading. I think he didn't care about getting stuck as off to the left was a tracked backhoe that he probably planned on using to get himself unstuck.
  10. Five days ago the 7-11 construction site was a stack of 7-11 parts. And today the site looks like this.
  11. Looks like another large structure is going up on the Soi Xzyte grounds. Some beautiful, blue skies today too. The foundation pillars aren't very deep, so it won't be a tall, heavy structure. Perhaps another one of these The parts for the 7-11 were delivered this morning. They have the building of 7-11's down to a science, so it'll be interesting to see how many days from the pouring of the footings to the grand opening.
  12. Pouring footings today for the new 7-11 next to Nirun.
  13. Pattaya Water Authority warns that despite rains, water supply remains low The Pattaya Water Authority, in a post on their facebook page, warned this week that although Pattaya had recently suffered flooding and isolated heavy rains that reservoirs in the city remained low on water. PWA Pattaya office chief Chaithas Eedsaeng stated in an interview with associated local press that the city water supply, although improved from prior months, was now only at 20% of capacity. This is based on all five reservoirs for the city that feed into the main treatment plant. This has led to the Pattaya Water Authority deciding to reduce the total volume of tap water available to city residents daily, to 150,000 million cubic metres from 200,000 million cubic metres. This may lead to some portions of the Pattaya area seeing reduced or even no water flow for periods of time, according to Chaithas. He also stated that the situation was likely to improve in the back-end of this month as more rainfall was predicted for the Pattaya area. The Pattaya News notes that rainfall is only one factor of lack of water, as we have previously discussed, with climate change, water management issues, construction related work and other factors also reportedly leading to the current situation.
  14. I was told by the taxi guys on the corner next to Nirun they're building a 7-11. Couldn't be happier as it will save me a walk of about 100m to the other one nearby.
  15. Better late than never they figured it's a good idea to clean out construction debris from the new drains.
  16. And over at Huai Chak Nok Reservoir
  17. Reservoir update time. A month since the last update and water levels are much improved. A few pics of Mabprachan Reservoir. Some very high weeds now on the north end of the reservoir. Once the reservoir fills and the weeds die and decompose, there's a good chance the low oxygen levels that creates may kill off what remains of the fish population.
  18. Since they're only doing this in one section, I suspect the electric to the lights in the area failed and they're running a new line. The question then becomes, why didn't they notice the lights were out and run a new line before repairing the footpath.
  19. Well it didn't take them long to dig up the newly repaired footpath.
  20. I thought that might be the intersection you were referring to, but the mention of the 7/11 on the corner threw me as it's a Family Mart. And that section of Arunothai has a couple of packs of dogs hanging around. As an aside, those staying in the Nirun area wouldn't have occasion to walk that section to central Pattaya unless they wanted to take the long way to where they're going.
  21. Not sure what you mean by the Arunothai/Sukhumvit junction as Arunothai doesn't intersect with Sukhumvit. As for dogs, there are a few along the stretch of buildings opposite the GC's along "Soi Love Inn". They do act aggressive, but nothing more than barking in my experience. I'm not the best one to offer an opinion on the dogs though as I don't fear them. In fact I'll often times stop, and if they care to approach, I'll wait and let them have a sniff.
  22. Pic from today of the cleanup before opening efforts.
