  1. Sorry to hear that Ron. It took me a full 6 months to get completely over Dengue fever. The only thing that I could eat for 10 days was watermelon. It was cold, wet, sweet, didn't take much energy to digest, and didn't want to come back up. Dr Mick, I worry about you, you said that all your bones hurt. That is a symptom of Dengue fever. I hope you both get well soon. Take care of yourselves. .
  2. VPI78 you think that something in the funnies section is worthy of a red vote? You do understand, that it's a funny, and non political don't you? Very childish of you.
  3. OMG, and this woman is serious.
  4. You want close to the Embassy and Nanna, why not just stay in Nanna? It's a 30 baht taxi ride to the American Embassy from Nanna. Why walk to save for a dollar? I would recommend the Majestic Suites on Sukhumvit road, just across from the Nanna hotel www.majesticsuites.com
  5. I agree. The better hotels will have a decent safe, but the cheap electronic safe used in most of the under 2000 baht hotels and guest houses are not much better than hiding your wallet under your pillow. I prefer a behind the desk two key personal safe, or a behind the desk bring my own lock over a cheap electronic in room safe. I like the better safes that reset the combination each time they are used. I pick a number that I will never forget like the last 4 digits of my home phone number, work number, or something similar. Phone numbers are good because you can take a friend or family's number you know well, then write on the safe, Bill, and you will remember it's Bill's number. You can do the same writing the words, Home, Mom, Work, GF and such.
  6. Is it just me, or did you give the same name twice, once calling them useless and the other helpful?
  7. Pay Pal is good also. Use a reputable company and there shouldn't be a problem.
  8. It's nothing more than lip service and headlines. Every year it is announced that something is going to be done., but nothing changes. Promises made by the police and the Mayor last until the reporters walk out of the room. Then it's business as usual.
  9. Lance Armstrong Banned from Cycling for Life http://news.yahoo.com/lance-armstrong-banned-cycling-life-033649969.html Lance Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned from cycling for life by the USADA on Thursday night, but not because of new incriminating evidence, or a scandalous confession. He was banned because he's retired and wants to stop fighting their charges. RELATED: Lance Armstrong Still Might Lose His Tour de France Titles Armstrong gave a statement to the Associated Press on Thursday night explaining how he was going to stop fighting charges from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that he used performance enhancing drugs. Armstrong was on a deadline Thursday evening. It was the last night he could decide between further arbitration, or accepting sanctions from the USADA. His whole statement was posted to his website. Armstrong didn't admit to doping, but he said he was tired of going through the process. Armstrong described the investigation as an "unconstitutional witch hunt." He already beat a Department of Justice investigation earlier this year. But after his lawsuit against the USADA got thrown out, he had enough: RELATED: Lance Armstrong Has Limited Options After Judge Tosses Suit I had hoped that a federal court would stop USADA’s charade. Although the court was sympathetic to my concerns and recognized the many improprieties and deficiencies in USADA’s motives, its conduct, and its process, the court ultimately decided that it could not intervene. If I thought for one moment that by participating in USADA’s process, I could confront these allegations in a fair setting and – once and for all – put these charges to rest, I would jump at the chance. But I refuse to participate in a process that is so one-sided and unfair. The AP speculated when the story first broke that the USADA "will almost certainly treat Armstrong's decision as an admission of guilt, and hang the label of drug cheat on," Armstrong. It didn't take long the USADA to prove them right. About an hour after the story broke, the AP reported the USADA stripped Armstrong of his titles and banned him from cycling for life. There's no new evidence against Armstrong. He's just retired, and doesn't want to jump through their hoops anymore. A ban for life stops a cancer-surviving 40-year-old man from returning to a hyper-athletic sport. The USADA essentially played into his hand. How this affects his legacy depends on whether you believe he doped before. If you do believe he was dirty, then congratulations, I guess. If you believe he was always clean, then you'll probably continue acknowledging him as a seven-time Tour de France champion, the USADA be damned.
  10. I'm sure that everyone has heard about Mentos and Coke exploding, but have you tried Mento's and beer?
  11. I had some friends go, and they found a travel agent in Pattaya that took care of the visa's for them. I believe they had to fill out some paperwork, and give the travel agent their passports, then the travel agent had someone that went to the embassy in BKK for the visa. Of course there was a charge, but it saved them the trip to BKK and back.
  12. One thing that every newbie should try is the bar crawls. I recommend putting one high on list of to do's next time.
  13. That explains it. Thanks
  14. What does that have to do with Hua Hin?
  15. No Martin, it doesn't, nor houses either. If you go back several posts, I think that I stated things that they could easily take and drive away with on their motorbike. I notice you don't have gold chains around your neck, or a GPS mounted to the handle bars of your motorbike.
