  1. You are correct there. I live in Portland, but used the Los Angles office. The Portland office does not seem well organized, they don't seem to know the laws well, and their web site is terrible. There is nothing professional about the office at all. The difference between the Portland and LA office was like night and day. Reggie, one thing that I forgot to mention. You may need a appointment to get your letter from immigration in BKK. It wasn't needed when I was there, but there was talk of making everything by appointment only. I would check their website. If you have to spend th
  2. Ahh, well I didn't see it as argumentative. But I'll give the two I thought up, gaborites, and gaborons
  3. Wow Martin, why are you having a go at me? Somehow I have the feeling it has nothing to do with post #52
  4. Well, no thanks. I've got enough people disliking me with out having to work at it. Just playing devils advocate here. If we have a name for one, we should have a name for the other. Makes it easier to keep track of that way.
  5. Will there also be a word for Gabor haters?
  6. You fly more than me. Once I build up my miles, I end up losing them. I seem to do my flying in spurts rather than consistently. Price and convenience does it for me. In the past, United was one of the cheapest, so I flew with them. Now they allow one 50 pound bag, and they are not the cheapest. My travel time is 24-26 hours, depending on my first connecting flight to SEA or SFO Delta now fly's out of my town with a 17 hour trip time, two 50 pound bags and I don't have to return in 3 months for the same price. If I had your miles, I would probably stick with United, depending if I coul
  7. It is not a board issue, they look fine to me.
  8. I like to bring as many bags as possiable. I bring stuff to Thailand for Expats, and bring stuff back for family. Check it out yourself. Go to united.com and look at the price of a ticket for 3 months or lass, then another for a longer stay. I'm not sure if it's the same for all classes, but it is that way for flying economy. If you check out the fine print for economy, it will say that the return must be with in 3 months. Not sure when it changed, it might have been when they dropped the second bag. Not that it matters. That was one of the reason's Jane flew back here with Delta, h
  9. Oh, Boat Bakery has sent me to the doctor on several occasions. I would never eat there again. 80 baht for a meal, and 500 baht for medication. Not a good deal to me. I look more for the best breakfast in Pattaya over the cheapest.
  10. United only allows one checked bag now, where Delta allows two. Of course, you could pay extra, but it's expensive. For me, I have a several hour wait in japan with United, but only 50 minutes with Delta. Another biggie for me, with United, they tack on 50% to the ticket price if I don't return in 3 months or less. I don't know if Delta has a similar charge for long stays, but I do know that I can stay 6 months at no extra charge
  11. United airlines was just voted one of the ten worst company's by American consumers. I'll have to try another airline next time.
  12. Not exactly. If you have booked a week or two, and paid in advance, then on your first night being a lady back and find out about the extra charge, it's kinda late to vote with your feet. Even if you have only paid for one night, check in at 3pm, and then wander back at 2 am with a lady, it's to late to vote with your feet. Most don't find out about the extra charge before they check in, but when they bring a lady back to the room.
  13. I haven't stayed in Pattaya's Hilton, but know many that have. They are not guest friendly. Expect to pay 1,000 baht or more to bring a lady in with you.
  14. I'm guessing that someone else got a bacon cheese hamburger that ordered something else. If they call to complain, they would get a half eaten sandwich to make it right
