I'm enjoying every time the commentator has to say 'Shatoff to Bogeroff'…..I'm a simple man….Oh here comes 'Kee'
  3. I think its good to have heroes that achieve as much as Lineker and who try to do so without cheating. I'm proud of him. Hobby horse alert…. Painful as it was I'd honestly rather we lost a World Cup game to a, 'hand of God' goal than that we won a game that way. It annoys me that over the years Maradona has remained unrepentant and his first goal is applauded or laughed off in many parts of the world, not just the places with grudges against England. Last World Cup I think Suarez pushed a shot heading for his goal away with his hand. Suarez was booked but the other team missed the
  4. If you want to see the dark side of football…….the conning, the intimidating of referees, the time wasting and one of the finest dives ever in a world cup final from the current USA manager (worth a look on its own that)…….and listen to the pissed-off condemning English commentary……..Here it is. Oh and an incongruous moment I'd forgotten about, (given that it was one of the worst WC finals ever) at the very end. Edit: Some of the yellow cards were awarded for the hair-cuts. I'm thinking it won't do any harm to emphasise the moment at the end. It was an award given t

Well done USA…….. Be interesting to hear how it's being received in the US………Our reporter on the spot, Evil will hopefully let us know. Be very interesting to see how Belgium go today.
  6. Yes and they traditionally call their sheep 'Arty' It's the real reason for the crouched thigh slapping part in the haka when they chant……"Cum Arty, cum Arty korra korra!!" I sat in the lounge in Singapore airport and noticed this group of enormous blokes were milling quietly about… and being very respectful of those around them. It quickly dawned on me they were a rugby team passing through but not a famous one……… And then I started to put names to faces. It was the bloody All Blacks. No attention was being paid to them at all….no autograph hunters. It felt like I was the only o

I'm planning to watch The Germany Vs Portugal and the USA game tonight. Got a ST round shortly and a commitment early evening then I'll get some zzzs……... I want the USA to win their game and although I like watching Germany play it would be nice if they were put on the back-foot tonight.
  8. I was called a racist once, (not to my face but it got back to me), for suggesting to a New Zealander that the white kiwis look stupid doing this. What I meant was they don't look authentic…….. Ahhh I'm probably a racist.

'You must start with a positive attitude or you will surely end without one'. Being positive takes about the same amount of effort as being negative…….You should try it.
  11. It ties you in where you weren't tied in before……….Makes you loyal if you want to use up all your deposit. They charge a service fee for small deposits…….which encourages you to make a larger one. Some won't use up their deposit and the surplus, small or large ends up with them. If you lose your card? All in all it might not be 'much of a scam'…….. But it doesn't seem to me to have been introduced for the benefit of the customer.
  12. Yes, in food courts I can see it stops the fiddling and the cooks handling the 'filthy lucre'….. but the cinema 'card' is a scam.

Ah well England typecast as the plucky losers while those swarthy Italians get to shag the cheerleaders! Funnily enough it's a game I will watch again, even knowing the score and still find enough good stuff from England to enjoy and give me more bloody hope. Pirlo…….(Hope I spelt that right) was great, but it was Sterling that stole the show. Come on England we can still go through and Italy can still go home. Everything to play for……..
  14. Cracking game in New Zealand right now.

Van Persie's first goal………. Headlines tomorrow: 'The Flying Dutchman' Come on the 'Foot'eroos. Fingers crossed 2nd half….. Australia always give it a go. Oh bollox……..I'm going for a swim.
  18. On reflection, (sour as this post is), I think it should be conceded to MLV that there are aspects of the game that I wish had not become so established. And it might be these aspects that have coloured MLV's view….Namely the theatrical reaction to the gentlest of tackles in the hope of conning the Ref into giving a free kick or handing out a booking. It's become expected that players will drop to the floor and writhe in pain if a finger brushes against a cheek nowadays, and so all teams do it to some degree. Ironically I think the macho latin Americans and the European 'latin' countries led

  21. Back to the WC……and The USA. You always, not exactly over-perform…..but achieve absolutely as much as could be expected +10%. I wish England had your belief and will-power.
