  1. Sorry I bothered with input to your thread! On further consideration just go for it.... dont need practice, it's a piece of piss, any idiot can drive a bike ... and who needs insurance??? ............Waste of money. Sure to be fine! Safest roads in the world.....Have fun!
  2. Love it.
  3. It's funny I was heading along towards Teprayer from Pratumak and in the opposite direction I saw a five/six year old sitting on the front......(his mum behind.).......allowing the child to steer and break but presumably ready to take over. I only noticed because they wobbled round a long curve coming up towards the Big Buddha turn off. Unremarkable. They teach 'em young here. Although I believe in self-teaching. (I got a Vespa when I was 16 and found a quiet mews in London to practice.......Then nearly killed myself following more advanced friends on the Marylebone Rd.....And a few years later with a full bike licence not able to afford car driving lessons got a mate's knackered Reliant Robin three wheeler and drove around the outer circle at Regent's Park from 4 am until about 6 am....Job done) However I'd forget trying to learn from scratch here........Especially if it's a new trick and you're an old dog. Pattaya is a 100 times more dangerous than London was in the 60's. You might be fine but even a minor injury could be expensive, (insurance won't cover you) and spoil your holiday. However inconvenient, have some lessons at home. Get some experience (preferably a full-licence too) before you come. Get an automatic while you're here and take it steady...Learning to look defensively in all four directions on one way streets and avoid standing water.
  4. Sign of the times ..........when I skim a thread title and think......'Good ones!.......They fucking don't exist' Got 'PC speakers' confused.
  5. Fake news...
  6. More shit.
  7. Saw Jack Ryan thru...........It was good.
  8. Wont happen! Dont worry about it.
  9. Enjoying BodyguardBBC
  10. love these things....always surprise.
  11. Paul Simon himself say this is probably his best song...........From his catalog that's some recommendation. Little known, off his 'Your the One' album
  12. I was really enjoying it...... Was! Seems a bit pointless now ....... shouldnt really post a spoiler warning just above the spoiler. Im a fast reader.
  13. Agree goofy looking and his boss s shithead... but I persevered and enjoying it
  14. Jack Ryan......Watched 4 on the trot.
  15. One for us all......... And remember paranoia is a step in the right direction.........
  16. Clever and humorous.
  17. Now don't scoff. .... And I'm not recommending this for anyone under 65....And then only for 65 yr olds so susceptible and sympathetic to the odd bout of nostalgia that they will put up with what would be judged nowadays as pretty awful TV...... Over the years on my 'android-box' I've found most of my childhood tv viewing .......From Cowboys to Crackerjack, from Torchy to William Tell........It's all there if you've a mind to search, and the time of course........ I can't shag, eat and drink all day. A few weeks ago a long lost memory turned up out-of-nowhere. Dimly I recalled a character from 50's TV who was somewhere between Mr Bean and a super hero............ For those of you who recall 'Hiram Holiday' there are some episodes on 'Youtube' .............I enjoyed them! My next hunt will be for some radio programmes.......Especially 'The Clitheroe Kid' which I've also spotted on Youtube. I suppose nostalgia is the truest form of escapism.
  18. An old favourite...........Punctuate... James while John had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher This one loses me even when I see the explanation..........(Thai translation could get you arrested). Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo
  19. 'Yes, English can be weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.'
  20. You've heard of 'Pennsylvania' US of A........Named after William Penn......Means 'Penn Heaven' ? Well the 'Cottage Bookshop Penn'........Is Book Heaven Near 'Knotty Green'....You must know Knotty Green? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penn,_Buckinghamshire http://forreadingaddicts.co.uk/bookshop-reviews/the-cottage-bookshop-penn-bucks Just found out it's closed after 60 years........Bloody shame.........Bloody Kindles. http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/16086398.Much_loved_bookshop_forced_to_close_its_doors_after_60_years/
  21. Siam Sam's reading lists are so erudite......and varied. I was inspired last trip to Uk to stock up on Classics......Mostly British. There's a bookshop in Penn that's fantastic. Floor to ceiling.........and piles on the floor. It takes half-a-day to have a decent rummage. Universities send maths students there to figure out a formula for guesstimating the stock. I brought back lots of Dickens, tons of PG Woodhouse......A bit of Kipling.....A few of Shakespeare plays...Some Orwell.....Dahl that I hadn't gotten around too. Even some poetry.......(I liked Larkin once).........And a bunch of other, 'good for me reads........' Not read any of them......... It's a bit like being told to eat my vegetables when all I've got eyes for is the sausage on the plate. I know I'll enjoy it if I make a serious effort.......But if I couldn't get into Woodhouse then I figure there's no hope. Stephen Leather it is then...even though he churns 'sausages' out faster than I can devour them...

    Tampons

Put it right for you........ maybe a colour thing?
  23. Recently....12 'Rules for life' which is great.....Jordan Peterson is my new 'Christopher Hitchens' Different subject matter but that same clarity. A wonderful defence of masculinity and fodder for confronting groupthink and feminism. Oh and the new Bond, that's set before Casino Royal......and the two latest Stephen Leather 'Spider' books.
  24. 'Upgrade' was enjoyable.
  25. The facts are confused........She entered on a Swedish passport......then produced and Iranian one. She was told to depart immediately and that was the reason for the stand-off as another long haul with her daughter, she saw, (or used the excuse) that that would be problematic. I guess we won't know the truth of it........Not in Dubai's interest to paint for themselves anything other that a compassionate picture......Not in this woman's interest to claim anything other than victimisation. Interesting charges were dropped and Dubai has picked up the flight cost though. Here's a taste of other cultural niceties that make our Swedish, Iranian look tame.......Particularly the last one.......(You won't be able to watch it through)... https://youtu.be/mqO9-4MxTig This one must be Yoko's sister.........Bonko Oh No Apparently she wasn't detained....but was offered a recording contract.....Forming a super group with Yoko and Bjork.
