Suvarnabhumi. Queue for a taxi or go upstairs for drop offs?
atlas2 replied to Chris100UK's topic in Transport in Thailand
Not easy these days.........One-way revolving gates bar your way. -
As far as condo availability goes.... I see many empty.......many being built ..... Theres a new one just staring on Jomtien Beach next to the Russian night market..... gonna be 59 floors!!!!!!

I used to enjoy 'Strike Back 'and was disappointed when it finished, (partly I think, because while shooting a BKK episode one of the main actors suffered a serious injury falling off the back of a tuc-tuc)....... I was thrilled when the re-boot season 6 was announced....BUT......it has been 'feminised' and turned to bollocks. Anyone noticed this happening elsewhere? I'm not a fan but I've heard Star Wars is suffering a similar fate.

I think the the old notes and the newer old notes will be ok for a some time. As they wear out the banks keep hold of them and so the replacement with the new notes will take time. I read somewhere that old English fivers lasted less than 2 years compared to the 50 pound note that lasts (redesigns notwithstanding) around 40 years. I reckon the old king 20 bts will die out first and then probably the rest in 'change hands frequency' order.......50,100.1000. I haven't read anywhere yet of planned legal-tender limitations but things change...Sure to be plenty of notice if they do As an aside the Orgazmotron gave me commemorative 70 and 80 baht notes of the last King which I'll hold on to.

A woman and a duck walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Where'd you get the pig." The woman says, "That's not a pig, that's a duck." He says, "I was talking to the duck." For MGDN......... Julius Caesar walks into a bar. "I'll have a martinus," he says. The Bartender gives him a puzzled look and asks, "Don't you mean a 'martini'?" "Look," Caesar retorts, "If I wanted a double, I'd have asked for it!" Bushcraft walks into a bar with some 'jump-leads.' The barman says...'Alright I'll serve you but don't start anything'

I'd avoided 'The Brawl in Cell Block 99'........The title and the thumbnail on my Android screamed.......Another one of them......'Seen one seen 'em all films' But after a recommendation I watched it yesterday. I can't recall what I've seen Vince Vaughn in before but he's good in this.........Almost Clint like. It is a, 'seen one seen 'em all film' but a very good one. Grab a beer, put your feet up........ PS......Just got back from the gym to watch the gay Super Bowl (the Oscars)........made a cuppa, put my feet up......Couldn't get through the opening monologue......It's always been saccharine, pandering shite.........but the politics, lapped up by the luvvies sickened me last year and they are at it again. Having lasted only 5 mins I can't criticise the whole show...maybe it gets better but...... Bring back Ricky Gervais.

Sorry assumed something to do with fire walls......... -
I read the British Gov have been meddling in this process.......... Producing in conjunction with the Thais an English language film on Thai Road etiquette ...........A helpful film on the docs needed and process...........And it mentioned some kind of theory test........ I'm hoping the Thais say 'thank you' and basically change nothing. This appeared on my google link on my Iphone about two weeks ago.

Brilliant work Frostfire. After reading your post I'm understanding how little I know about this thing I'm typing on.......I'm guessing 'frostfire' is some computer joke that's been going over my head for yonks. -
Here's an example.........I understand that the views here are political and therefore that this thread might be moved to another section or this post censored. I'm fine with either......But it helps to express the situation with Google as reflected in Youtube better than I can.

I find it's the same with some shopping trolleys. Google makes its' money by guiding us towards purchases. We all understand this, I don't think that's being contested. But that 'algorithmic power' can be used to guide in many ways.......It's clear from reports of the Google workplace that Google has, (like most of the media), a distinct political bias towards left leaning philosophies. Apart from any intellectual deficiencies I might have that would preclude my employment in silicon valley, my views and politics would rule out a career there..........Unless I kept my views hidden. As we've seen from one of the links above, disagreeing with the liberal dogma and orthodoxies at Google......will quickly lead to unemployability there or anywhere else in the industry as other tech companies rightly fear Google's wrath and its' reach. It seems a natural progression to me that with the political views of Google's employees becoming uniformly liberal, that that view would increasingly influence the company. Not such a stretch from that to seeing a seeping and subtle propagation of Google's politics in it's software.

The link to the earlier thread by Martin was started in August. Yours Truly, 'Greatly Worried of Jomtien"

I've only bothered with add-blockers fairly recently.....Adds are annoying on You tube. Easy enough to unblock for this site. Can't see much of a problem. I'm sure there's a mechanism that can be embedded when entering. I recall sites like 'Forbes' asking me to 'White-add' or something their site before continuing. Thanks for your work on this. -
Thanks, I hadn't seen that thread and so obviously I didn't contribute to it either..........You did, and so too did Rhino Tusk, (defending Google at that time as well).......Strange he didn't mention the replication.

I didn't say their agenda was hidden.......Glad you're amused. This guy believing Google had a diversity tolerance found out that they didn't. https://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/08/dont-like-googles-diversity-agenda-youre-fired/ .......And.......Google favours Dems? http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/future_tense/2015/12/why_google_search_results_favor_democrats.html

I don't recall....but if he did, he was right. When complaints come in Google just brush them off as 'a hitch with the algorithm'.........But they have an agenda. Google is perhaps the most powerful company since 'John Company' (EIC)...........The EIC had over 260.000 soldiers ruling India but Google has been invited into almost every home in almost every country..........It has enormous influence.....Something to watch and be wary of. Still I've learnt how different the history of the western world could have been without America's greatest inventors......Men like Lonnie Johnson and his contribution of the 'super-soaker' water pistol........! Thank you America.........Thank you Google......Thank you Lonnie......every falang will think tender thoughts of you this Songkran. Mind you I wouldn't have gotten the world any further than a bucket.....So perhaps I should shut-up.

Yes of course it's natural for Google to assume that when anyone asks for a list of 'American inventors'........What they are really asking for is a list of 'African American Inventors' Got it. My bad. Still.....If you put in the same 'American Inventors' request in Google's Mexican edition, in the top 50 you get 46 white men two white women and couple of African Americans. More inconsistencies considered here....... http://www.vdare.com/posts/great-moments-in-google-american-inventors-almost-all-black
-
Type into Google US version 'American Inventors.' I didn't know they were all black?? https://www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&ei=iKePWpTTMcON8wXU4pfIDw&q=american+inventors&oq=American+inven&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0l4j0i10k1j0l5.4419.10444.0.13419.15.14.0.0.0.0.233.2367.0j12j2.14.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.14.2367.0..35i39k1j0i131k1.0.gE4cQLIvbfw

Brilliant Thanks.

Don't concern yourself..... That was a reference to posts #13 and #14 in this thread..... and a dig back at Jacko. British English differentiates between the spelling of the noun and the verb......American English doesn't. My brilliantly composed reply to an earlier post from you was slapped down to size after he'd noticed I'd gotten the noun and the verb confused.

And finally today........ There's a spoof series called Beat toons....... Some are well done........ I think I'm cracking-up.......This 'reconstruction' made me even more full of admiration but left me sad.

True....Or licence when they mean license. There's no need to apologise for being correct. It gives an authority to your words. But some people on the one-hand will quibble over the need for accuracy......When for example the TM6 asks for a 'visa number' when it's a re-entry permit number that's required .........insisting this is something we shouldn't bother ourselves about. And yet in the next breath they say if only 'correct vocabulary' could be used it would avoid 'useless fuzzy discussions' Ah well...... I think the TM6 question is done........Now if my pedantic 'Whom whom' joke isn't funny.........Perhaps the intellectual challenge of this one will be better received......probably best if you're British for this one. Q: Who led the pedants' revolt? A: Which Tyler.

For Bazle.......An old Spice girl And here's just a bit of playful fun.....I couldn't take my eyes off his missus she's is lovely....And 50 years old too!

Although it is a good habit to be precise when importing information........I can envisage some people wandering round the forest saying to the owls it's 'Whom whom'
