Thats what many people cant see, rather odd IMHO paying 20k a month or more in rent. A few years roll by and you have done a million in rent ? But you hear political situation blah blah blah...

Whether you buy or rent you will have water and electric costs Internet costs also but the landlord may pay that and add it to rent.

There is a purchase tax, not sure what it is in a Thai name but for farang it went up June 2010 to 5% I think... For 3 million you will get a decent place , if you are thinking of futher out of pattaya say Issan you will get somewhere very nice. Good luck

I feel sure a guy pretty good at IT would do OK, but I would not risk it.

Same as me just a place in Thailand you can use when you are there, its nice being able to leave all your bits and peices there once paid no rent no big issue, but you have the option to rent it out if you want. Each to their own,

I think if you plan to spend a lot of time there it makes sense, Iknow one lad who has lived in Thailand 7 years, he has paid £35k in rent and on the at of July he has to pay his 20k Baht again There are arguments both ways, its personal choice to date I dont know anyone who has lost 35k on a condo but I know a guy who has done 35k in rent. Bit each to their own, I dont feel comfortable with e company ownes, however if you owned a few then its a company a property company that way is ok for me. Also know a guy who has 8 units in VT6 yet rents a house on the darkside, many ways to work it its only in the fullness of time do we know..

Got a call a couple of weeks ago from a mate who is there saying the police seem to be targetting drink/riders/ drivers there ? In the UK the limit is 2 pints of standard beer, not sure of what the mg is as it were. My questions are two fold has anyone else seen increased actvity re the above ? also is the drink drive limit the same in Thailand or UK cheers

I saw him when he lostthe money saw the police report and indeed bank letters... What you think it sounds like does not alter facts with the greatest respect. He lost the money over a 3 week time span, he had taken his money out for the month it was only when he went to get more did he realise he had been cloned.

I have a mate who had his card cloned in Pattaya , he lost 350k baht the card was used all over Thailand for 3 weeks or so but there were at least two different cards created, money would be taken from Phuket at 11.00pm on a Monday, than at 9.00am in Chang Mai thats an example it was impossible to get to the two places unless you had a private plane or helicoptor. The bank investigated , first he would not get it then he would etc. In the end he was told no. He went to a lawyer who said he would take the case for 50k but the guy said, "I will give you 150k if you get it back" the Lawyer would not take the case on those terms. I would imagine given your organisations experience you could make a call like an actuary, I guess my question was would you ever work the above way ? Cheers

Can I ask how the funding works ? is it no recovery no fee as it were ? Or does it require payment up front.

Man Utds team was built for the EPL, Carrick and Giggs in midfield was never going to be a match Carrick has mentally gone when playing Barcalona I was suprised Fergie played him. A few weeks before Man Utd were played off the park by Arsenal who are the closest to Barca in the EPL, due to the power aspect of the EPL needs week after week Man Utds team were better suited. Real Madrid would have beaten Man Utd as it were , well done to them for getting through Fergie does well but at the highest level in Europe kick and rush does not do it.

I have sen places yeild up to 9% or to put it another way , you would have to pay 9% of the purchase price to rent it
