This one is not a fault, just UK people who keep using Licence My Thai DL clearly indicate "Driving License"

Lot of long fuzzy useless discussions and suites of wrong questions/answers would be avoid if people were using the correct vocabulary. Mainly true on ThaiVisa where very often the question is not what his writer wants to ask! Apart from the fact that it's not a Visa, how did you get one without a number ?? As far as I know, every Visa, Extension, Work-Permit, Re-Entry permit, etc. has a number !
-
Could you please explain? I see a lot of topics updated today??

First sorry for my English . I used "quibble" with this definition in mind: "to argue about, or say you disapprove of, something that is not important" - dictionary.cambridge.org: quibble I don't really understand your confusion. You know that to be taken into account your Visa or Re-Entry Permit number must been the TM6. If you have a Re-Entry Permit, you have nowhere else where you could put its number, and you have no valid Visa number to put in anyway. So seems logical to put it there, not?
-
Unsure why you quibble on that. For Thailand a Visa is an "Authorisation to Enter in the Country". For the huge majority of people, they need a Visa to enter Thailand, except if their country allow them to benefit of a Visa Exemption. This Visa/Exemption allow them to get an "Authorisation of Stay" when they enter. The Re-Entry Permit is in fact a special Visa that allow entrance to people who already have an "Authorisation of Stay". We often see it named "Re-Entry Visa" in other countries, or even in Thailand
-
?? No . They don't talk about Re-Entry Permit AFAIK BTW here is a good scan of the TM.6 release 2017 : (as the image in the first post doesn't seen to show...)

That's what they say when you want open a new line, but apparently you can negotiate that too and just start by paying only the modem + 3 months. After the first payement you can pay as you want: by year or by month or for several months. U2Y Not my experience. Most my problems (not so many ) have been solve just by calling them. They can check your line and connection remotely and often the Internet come back in the hour following the call. If a technician need to come it's usually D+1 or D+2.

You don't! Hotels have an Internet access to the Immigration Portal to make the registration of all their guests (equivalent of TM.30) and for them it's nothing new, they do that for years already. Many other places (and in fact more and more) do the same: condotels, guesthouses,... but not all! In such case you should ask them if they registered you. If no, they you should push them to do it, or do it yourself. The "TM.30 problem" mainly happen when you rent from a private person (Thai or foreign changes nothing) or even when you stay as a guest in a friend or family house or condo

Ask your neighbours Seriously, a provider very good in an area may be just average in another. Ask around your house which provider they are using and how they like it or not.

So many topics about how to find a good "English Breakfast", on all Pattaya forum and all travels forum more generally, that I wonder what would happen if an English guy can't get one in the morning... Would he die?

2 Yes The form is TM.7 and you can find help on many website. By example: http://www.pattayacityexpatsclub.com/expats/docs/retirementvisachecklist.pdf And you can download the form to fill it at home: http://www.pattayacityexpatsclub.com/expats/docs/tm7%20application%20form.pdf

Seriously... Thai people found that there is a big category of farangs ready to pay them big prices to do nearly nothing. It works well so they try to increase their profit "a little bit" hoping farangs will continue to pay... And I bet many will pay that !! Filling the form for a Retirement Extension must take you less than 2 minutes, and all data required are in your Passport already. You just have to recopy them... . I never paid and never will pay for that !
-
Nkped didn't talk about an agent ??? I think he meant that he paid 3'800 for a multiple Re-entry but only exited Thailand 3 times this year so could have paid only 3 x 1'000 baht using single Re-entry

Hi, Jomtien Extensions people seem to be very nice with long term residents, especially not asking them for TM30 when they come for their yearly extension. Sadly, there are reports that the Reentry-Permit people are not so nice and a few guys on Retirement Extension have been asked to provide the TM30 documentation... and pay the 1'600B fine. Direct consequence is that the Reentry-Permit desk at the airport could soon see a significant increase in the number of Pattaya guys getting their Reentry-Permit there... Nota: Despite what is written on the suvarnabhumiairport.com website, the

Today, walking back from the marina, 50 meters from the above compass : "PIRE"... and 100 m farther... For this one I talked to the worker, but he was not interested. So I made sign to the guy who looked like the boss, who listened to me and checked its document where it was clearly written "PIER" with a big drawing and numbers of char patterns to use... Probably the same team that made the compass orientation... I will check soon but this one, in front of Waterfront, should be well spelled

One good reason why you should fly on A380: Look at what happen in case of strong wind at the arrival: A lot of missed landing , but for the big A380: No problem If you find the video too long, check the landing of : - the small Dash 8 at 00:25 - the touch-and-go at 01:55 - the big A380 at 07:40 Big fun for the passengers that day

Where are the other videos ? The title say "Funny videos"...

Pattaya made the old speedboats park nice for the Naval Review a few month ago They recently finished the promenade along the marina, and added this nice compass near the Waterfront building and the Pattaya City sign : It's looks nice for a roundabout, but it suffer a major flaw... The compass is not oriented correctly !!! Here is approximatively were the North should be : Only in Thailand...

Internet 90 day reporting...broken for all or just me?
Idefix replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hi Didn't see many messages about the 90-days reports in pasts months But I made mine online this morning and it's approved already. Still problems with certificate though, but going through that using Internet-Explorer mode from Edge, it's working. -
Don't worry, you are not the first one - nor the last one - who has this kind of things happening I got several of these "bangs" when trying to repair some electronic devices without the good tools to check them...
-
Oops. In general case, yes. I agree. Seems like many times it's only the power card that fails, and sometimes (often?) just a capacitor to replace.
-
cbrib said "the screen is burnt out"... not something you can fix with a soldering iron And the price to replace the LED screen would be probably very near of the price of the brand new TV...
-
In the past I would have recommended Amorn Electronic in the underground at Tukcom South Road... They made a good job for friends on TVs and a HiFi Music System, but seems like their labor price has skyrocketed in recent past years so I would highly recommend to ask for a quote before agreeing any reparation here.
