  1. Piss said to be good for jellyfish stings. Along with vinegar.
  2. I'm a life long atheist but when a British company forbids its staff from wearing a crucifix or any other representation of Christianity then that's me finished with 'em. They will never be my 'airline of choice'. And I bet there are plenty of others who have shunned them over the last few years.
  3. Lies and rumours such as this one for instance. It's from the Independent, a liberal publication that's hardly likely to write stories about ethnic minorities unless they're true. It makes you wonder how many other such incidents have happened but have gone unreported. 4. It won't be long. When I first visited Bangkok in 1984 we were driven along an elevated highway. There was hardly a tall building to be seen and there were acres of small sheds with corrugated metal roofs. At first we assumed that they were pig pens or chicken coops until we later discovered they were peoples' homes, they've all gone now. Tall corporate buildings stand in their place. Every time I visit nowadays little things of no consequence will have gone up a bit in price even if it's only one or two baht. A few years back a bag of rice from a stall would be five baht now you'll pay ten baht. An eight baht bread roll in Friendship just went up in one hit to ten baht, that was this month, November 2017. A pack of beefburgers used to be 50 baht, they've shot up to 100 baht. A kilo of minced meat that was 165 baht is now well over 300 baht. Fifteen years ago a GGG would usually be willing to go with a punter for a thousand baht. That's now just a memory and our money especially the GBP is worth about 60% of what it was then Our economies are struggling along with our currencies. Those of Thailand are thriving. It won't be long before the girls will be wanting more money than we can afford. A couple of my pals in London can no longer afford their holidays in Pattaya, until recently wild horses couldn't keep them away. Hong Kong and Singapore used to be notorious for cheap commercial sex, That's history now just like it will be in years to come where Thailand is concerned. The writing's on the wall.
  5. You apparently have to download Drop box and sign in when you use it. On PB you just type in the title and away it goes. What could be easier than that. No signing in nor registering is required. Admittedly the downloading can take a long time in Thailand if you have a poor internet connection but in the UK with an out fit like Virgin Media films and series will take just minutes to be recorded onto Utorrent of Vuze and sometimes in the cases of soap opera episodes less than a minute.
  6. I did not claim it was any easier but I did not have to use any drop box link to do it. I've also since downloaded Series 2 of Gomorrah with subtitles using Pirate Bay, I did not have to do a thing, PB did it all for me. What could be easier than that? And while we're at it would you kindly stop displaying my IP address for every cunt and his cousin to see. I've asked you politely to do so before but you've ignored my request so would you fucking well stop doing it! And FYI I'm not using Firefox.
  7. I downloaded Series 1 of Gomorrah (7.18 GBs) complete with subtitles off Pirate Bay. No VPN required.
  8. What's TWD?
  9. That's a corker.
  10. With a bit of luck the servicemen won't have to worry about it much longer if your President is half the man he's made out to be! Trump may well change all this nonsense as he's not noted for his particularly correct credentials. When young men get a load of drink in 'em there'll be trouble if they can't do what comes naturally after months at sea. That idiocy causes frustration and often causes fights. It's better to have them shagging than fighting. Girlie bars, beer, spirits, music, smoking, dancing and commercial sex go together and have done so since sailors and soldiers first visited foreign ports. In many instances it's why many young men joined either military or civilian navies in the first place. Years ago if a British serviceman got sent to Hong Kong or Singapore it was considered the equivalent of winning the lottery.
  11. Best off doing to yourself unless YOU know a cleaner who YOU can trust.
  12. I've only known one man in Pattaya who went over the balcony. He was an elderly fellow who did it intentionally because he had inoperable and incurable cancer.
  13. Everyone! Speak for yourself. Not everyone likes getting buckets or bowls of water slung in their face against their will or without their approval each time they care to leave their hotel. It's not everyones idea of enjoyment when they've spent a small fortune to go on holiday.
  14. It looks like you've got some good gear! Only smoke it out on your balcony and watch out for the BIB.
  15. No Chalky White type jokes?
  16. How many elephants can you get in an ammerfor.
  17. Don't tell a Thai girl (or lady boy if that's your buzz) that it's your first time in Pattaya for obvious reasons as they'll see you as being ripe for the picking. Don't get lumbered with the first girl who you get intimate with and do not give them you contact details like home phone numbers or email addresses. Unless of course you're really smitten with her. You may have heard of the Three Day Rule, there again ignore it if you really like the girl concerned. Don't entertain a girl who starts giving you 'sick papa' stories. When you visit a bar especially a gogo bar check your bill after each drink. It's low season now and some bar staff are really feeling the pinch. I've caught 'em out on two occasions in the last fortnight trying to rip me off over the number of lady drinks I've bought, once for 200 baht and once for 300 baht (5 and 7 quid) Both times in gogo bars in a small L shaped street called LK Metro, an entertainment area smaller and less expensive than the famous Walking Street. However sweet one of these floozies may appear to be never forget that she is on the game and she is only interested in your money. 20 baht (50p) is a good tip. They'll think no more of you if you throw your money about they'll just take you for a cnut. The same as brasses all over the world will. 300 baht a day is the normal minimum wage. 10,000 baht a month is what most of the girls get paid in an straight job with just 2 or 3 days off a month. Get a card from your hotel when you go out so you can find your way back again. Secure your cash, ticket and passport. Don't get drunk. If you bring cash change the vast bulk of your money up when you get to Pattaya in the yellow booths. Not banks or at the airport, you'll see why on the boards where they quote their exchange rates. And definitely not at Heathrow nor any UK airport. Don't pay your room up in advance in case you want to check out, Do not hire jet skis, motor bikes or cars. Enjoy your trip.
  18. You've got it Butch. It's also the only GGB in Soi Bhukaow. Myself and a few friends who use it have always found it a convenient and agreeable place in which to have a drink mainly because it's near our lodgings. It's easy to find especially if a pal who is new to or not overly familiar with Pattaya wants to meet up for a drink. It did regular Happy Hour deals that often extended to closing time. You got very generous measures especially if you were a regular punter. You can't dilute the taste of alcohol. Prior to this occurrence the staff treat us well and with courtesy. You could watch pretty girls dancing in A/C comfort and naturally we became friends with some of these floozies and became fond of 'em just like you would with friendly female bar staff back in Falangland. And like any GGB they have had some right darlings in there over the years. Just like the OP the attitude of the Thais sometimes has me flumoxed. And the OP had not even arrived in Pattaya when he made his post on the forum.
  19. It's low season and there are empty rooms all over Pattaya right now. And quite a few empty bars! Sometimes their attitude is rather baffling and I doubt even many Thai folk would stand for some of the strokes they pull. For around 10 years now I've been going in a certain Gogo Bar based in Soi Bhukaow 2 or 3 times a week whenever I'm in Pattaya. I was in there a few nights back where I had arranged to meet two of my friends from London. As well as us there were about 5 other punters in the place at 11 pm. My two pals are not newbies but don't come to Pattaya much anymore because of their financial situations. They'd watered down one of my friends drinks and would not rectify the matter so they check binned and left without leaving a tip never to return. I'd sipped his vodka and coke and true enough you could hardly taste the alcohol in it. I felt a bit of a fool because I'd recommended the place and arranged to meet them in there! I'd told my pals, 'We'll be OK, they know me in there blah blah blah.' Then when I'd drunk up and check binned they short changed me by 200 baht. It took 15 minures before they admitted their 'mistake' and coughed up my 200 baht. And I'd earlier bought three of the girls lady drinks as I normally do. I also check binned without leaving a tip and neither will I be going in there again. I've been scratching my head about their stupidity ever since. It was quite unbelievable.
  20. Of course silly me! There must be good money to be made there. I'm also forgetting those little 70 by 40 cm woven scatter rugs that seem to be everywhere.
  21. AKA The Cockhouse with all those ladyboys that work there. Or used to.
  22. You won't find many carpets in Pattaya nor ones that want cleaning. They have tiled floors out here.
  23. We've been made aware of attacks upon and the raping of young women and violence on certain beach areas in Australia involving young Lebanese men. Even the BBC has mentioned it in the past and you don't get much more PC than the BBC. We hear nothing about biker gang crime nor crime involving other groups of people.
  24. Is that all down to drugs and Lebanese dealers? In the UK we all were led to believe Australian cities were fairly law abiding till they arrived.
