Bump, I missed this one but want to keep informed of next one. -
A group of like minded golfers meet once a week at 8am for breakfast at Canterbury Tales next door to Crazy Daves, Soi Chaiyapoon. (in May we will be meeting at Rabbi's Elephant Bar, Soi Beokau and Soi 21. Then @ 8:45 we carpool to Plutaloung Navy Course (challenging 36 hole course) for a fun day of golf. No reservations, No Handicaps, no betting, just go out and play a fun game of Bingo Bango Bongo. Nobody will ask you what you shot on that last hole because “honors” goes to the first one who tees up. In US we call it “ready golf”. There are no 2’s, closest to the pin, or longest drives that might embarrass the average golfer. If you are used to shooting 120 or 80 this is the place to come out and enjoy amateur golf with a bunch of fun loving guys who like to laugh and have fun. We play a format called “Bingo, Bango, Bongo”. Each group only competes with their own group, 3 points per hole, thus Bingo, Bango, Bongo, Bingo point goes to the first one on the green from the farthest away from the green. Bango point goes to whichever golfer is closest to the pin once everyone is on the green. Bongo point goes to whoever makes the longest putt. (Don’t try to learn the rules, someone in your group that knows the rules will keep score) It does not matter how many strokes it took you to reach the green, nor, how many putts it took you to sink the longest putt, you still will win the point. We do have a few variations to the Standard PGA rules but most standard rules are ignored. Examples. (*with no penalty)** only penalty is, you cannot win a Bingo point with that shot • *Lift, clean and place within 12” allowed anywhere (no penalty). • *Local rules of the course apply. • ** Mulligan (tee up and hit again) allowed on every hole only if 1 of these apply. 1. If it didn’t go past the ladies tee. 2. It went into the water. 3. It went into the deep rough. 4. It went OB • ** you are allowed to pick up your ball at anytime and move it to where you wish it had landed but didn’t. • ** If you put the ball in the water and don’t want to waste another ball OK to drop on other side of the water. • ** If you are in a sand trap with a high lip and you are having a difficult time getting out, it is OK to pick it up and throw it out if you want. There are a few more slight variations to the rules but someone in your group will know the variations and keep the score. The best way to find out is to come out and join us. Remember the purpose of this group is to have fun, get some sun and exercise. It is not to learn the rules of golf or to embarrass anyone because of their stroke count. Some of our recent winners For more information call HawaiiBob @0878296824 or e-mail Hawaiibob4you@yahoo.com, or PM or just show up at Canterbury Tales or Elephant bar in May onward. No reservations required, transportation available for B200 r/t club rental B300 at course.

Will you have a day shift and night shift for waitresses? Will tips be pooled and split or keep own tips?

I think the topic should read " Is is OK to make left turn on red after full stop and without interfering with oncoming topic? Then I'm sure the answer i "Yes".

25 years ago I survived cancer and chemo (cancer was easy the chemo made me want to die). My last divorce left me with enough money to continue living comfortably in Hawaii, work 10 more years then retire. I came to Thailand for R&R and attitude readjustment from my 4th subdivision of equities and realized with what I had left I could retire in adult Disneyland now. 5 more trips in 18 months starting at 2 weeks and finally last one was 3 months. I liquidated everything and never looked back. I greet each day with a big shit eating grin saying "Yes, I woke up again, lets enjoy life"

For golf, contact BM Solar and his other half Wee, they run great golf trips and can get you on all the good courses, but if you play golf with them, put your money on Wee, I understand in 3 years of golf she has 2 holes in one and plays from the men's tees and is under 5' tall.

Are they owned in Farang name or Company? Is transfer fee split?

I want it, call me 087 829 6824 to arrange pickup.

Great food, not just great value, I have no doubt it is the best pizza in Pattaya and @b45 a slice (1/4 of medium pizza) great for midnight to 6am snack, but if you pig out like I did during B99 all you can eat you probably won't be hungry again for 24 hours. Good job Bobbie

Mrs Solar gets a hole in one
Bob4you replied to doghaus's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
What a fantastic accomplishment for Mrs. Solar aka Wie, from the men's tee to boot, Mini will be very envious. I am sure Mini will make her first hole in one long before I ever do. Keep up the good work, it is always a pleasure to watch the two of you on the golf course, you for the antics and Wie for the smooth natural swing, almost a work of art. -
I now fly China Air because of the before mentioned time schedule, less than an hour in Taipei between flights. I also usually check on the fullness of the flight at checkin and often take a seat in center section near rear of plane, 50% of the time that row or one on either side is completely empty. With free alcohol by the time I am finished dinner, 4 glasses of wine, 2-4 Scotch on rocks I sleep like a baby for 8 hours. Flight attendants have always been very co-operative.

Nice picks, nice place reasonable prices for that large of a room. -
I am a hacker and wacker (not wanker) with a 34 handicap and need some help soon as my wife's handicap will soon be lower than mine. I'd love to take you to one of the local courses and pick up the tab (I've played most of them except the St. Andrews one) in return for a few dozen helpful hints while on the golf course. It has been almost a year since I broke 100 and would love to do that consistantly.

Very friendly place, good food and good golf group with free breakfast on golf day. You must sign in 2-3 days early for golf outings as they fill up. I believe golf day is Tuesday. They also have a weekly (weather permitting) ocean sportfishing trip. www.tropicalberts.com

Sound like a memorable party but stuck in Udon for another week so will miss it but great way to celebrate a virgin trip.
-
If you can make it to Udon Thani there is a fantastic furniture store with wholesale prices, living room sets, bedroom sets beautiful looking brought in from China. Approximate cost is B25,000 per set. If any chance you would go up there I have some pictures I could send you. I have another home in Udon.

B1500, cart, caddy, green fee, transport M-F
Bob4you replied to Bob4you's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
there is a first time for everyone, I have a extra set of clubs to loan you but you will have to spend the B500 you save in club rental to buy golf balls @ B20 each. 25 balls should be about enough and 1 hour at driving range day before is mandatory. I took a guy out one time who never played before after telling him what I usually shot for 18 holes, he said he never played before but he could do better than that. After 10 swings at the ball on the first tee and not hitting it once he went back to the car and slept and we played as a 3 some. -
B1500, cart, caddy, green fee, transport M-F
Bob4you replied to Bob4you's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
No need to bring it to golf with me, but if you get into some of the tournaments run by the clubs you need to have handicap card and the big one with Pattaya Sports Club you cannot win until you have played 5 rounds with one of the sanctioned bars. Bring your clubs or rental available at most courses for B500. -
Golf Lessons and best course?
Bob4you replied to LordFlash's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
What is the best course is like asking what is the best go-go bar, many choices, depends on your tastes. Best that you join Pattaya Sportsman club http://pattayasports.org/ that will give you a 10 - 50% discount at many of the courses, this is high season so no real bargains although still cheaper than many countries. Ossi runs the golf program at Pattaya Expat club that meets on Sundays at 10:30 and he gives free group lessons on Sunday @ 8:30 at a local driving range. This is a great place for golf, none of the clubs are really private, off season has some great "sports days" bargains. -
I was quoted B8-10 depending on complexity at expat club meeting Sunday, that included a certified English translation.
