I believed he said .20 baht tip, which is about a hour wage as a housekeeping person. LeoTex PS; I tip the hotel cleaning lady about 100 baht every couple of days. Takes care of extra towels or what ever extras I need. No, not those extras.

I don't think you can blame AirBus for the seats you just experienced on the A330. Air Asia ordered the plane this way. I have been on several A330 with Northwest Airlines where the seats were fine with leg room and the seats would recline, also with individual entertainment with movies on demand at each seat. LeoTex

N400, You had to go and remind me didn't you. Need to forget about a few of the past hook-ups LeoTex

Yes, I'm posting to bring this back to the top. I got a couple of PM's, but the times didn't match up. One person was arriving a couple of hours before I did and wasn't able to wait before I got in, can't blame him, as he will get to Pattaya at a better time. So if anyone is arriving on the same flight from Tokyo on Northwest that night or on other airline about the same time and wants to share a ride, PM or send me a email. I arrive just after midnight on April 1st. (12:25 AM April 2nd) and straight to Pattaya. LeoTex

This has worked several times in the past, so will give it a try again. Arriving the night of April 1, 2009 a little past midnight (12:35 AM). Northwest Airlines flight # NW25 from Toyko. Have hotel car arranged, if interested, please post, send PM or email. Thanks, LeoTex

Pattaya bay resort v Sabai resort
LeoTex replied to surry's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
surry, I have never stayed at Sabai Resort before, but have stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort serveral times and will be spending an other week there in April. I have always enjoyed my stay there in the past. Roof top pool, just outside the resturant. Good WiFi through out the hotel. Good staff and very helpful. Free breakfast for two. Have a Tuk Tuk that can get you to a few areas on 2nd Road. Also a baht type truck that can provide close by drop offs. Its a little off the beaten path, but not a bad walk through the Avenue's Mall on 2nd Road. Hope this helps a little, LeoTex -
I have use the travel shop just up from the Sportsman on Soi 13 going up to 2nd Road. For a long time it was a location for a laundry, but they enlarged it and turned it into a travel agent. The name is 'EasyFly' and the website is www.321easyfly.com. The operate a full travel agent shop with airlines and hotel reservations through out Thailand. LeoTex

Just used Mr Toom service again this week. Called him Monday afternoon for a 4:30 AM pick up from the Sandy Spring on Wednesday morning to the BKK airport. Was checking out of the hotel a little after 4:00 AM and the car arrived early as always. Nice newer car, driven by a cute girl. Pleasent ride to the airport. First thing she did after arriving at the airport was go and get one of the luggage cart for me on her own. Great service. LeoTex

First, PLEASE turn off the 'cap lock' key, because you are yelling at us. Is the Haven bar the bar connected to the Haven hotel and restaurant on Soi 13? If not please give us the location. thanks, LeoTex

The Bank Robber A man with a gun goes into a bank and demands their money. Once he is given the money, he turns to a customer and asks, 'Did you see me rob this bank?' The man replied, 'Yes sir, I did.' The robber then shot him on the spot killing him instantly. He then turned to a couple standing next to him and asked the man, 'Did you see me rob this bank?' The man replied, 'No sir, I didn't, but my wife did.' LeoTex

How this works, is you pay the the owner of the miles and then he will get you the ticket in your name using his miles. The only problem is trying to get a flight with the miles that the other party has in his airmile account. Most of the time there won't be a seat available for the time you want to travel using the other person's miles. I know that some of the BM's here rag on using Northwest to fly to the LOS. They do have a good miles program and you can book a seat using your miles unlike some of the other airlines. You have to have him keep checking your dates. When you have the miles it is a lot easier. When you find something, jump on it before the mile's seats are taken. Going through a third party would take more time and sometimes the mile's seats will be gone by the time you both work out the deal. Last year I used miles for two of my trips to Thailand and this year, one trip using miles back in July. The only problem is when flying using miles you don't earn miles. I try and keep my elite status at gold and sometimes platinum to earn the bonus miles and also have access to the Northwest Club. I tired to give a friend miles for a LOS trip, but was told that I could get his ticket in his name using my miles on Northwest and this worked. Emil, your plan would be great except for the amount of money it would take for all the transactions. Like you said, the best way is to just buy a ticket and earn miles for a free trip in the future. Last trip I tried the deluxe room for my last night in Bangkok before flying home. I found the room a little larger and had a small couch. I only spend my first night when arriving and my last night before leaving at the Dynasty in Bangkok because of my bad arrival and departure times with Northwest. I didn't feel the extra for the deluxe room was worth the extra charge. LeoTex

Arrive midnight on Northwest on July 9th. Will spend first night at Dynasty and then to Pattaya next morning. I will have Mr Toom lined up. This has worked a few times in the past, so if anyone wants to share a ride to Pattaya, please post here or send PM or email. Thanks, LeoTex

Pattaya Bay Resort - is it noisy?
LeoTex replied to amsterdamguy's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed there two weeks ago for a week. The stay was enjoyable and I didn't have any noise problems. I stayed on the 3rd floor facing the front. The shacks in front have been taken down that the new mall workers stayed. There is construction going on next to the new mall, but I couldn't hear any of the noise. The staff was great and the wireless internet worked good through out the hotel. I would stay there again. LeoTex -
It does work sometimes. A fellow board member has sent me a PM telling me that he is on the same flight coming into BKK from Tokyo. We will share a ride with Mr. Toom to Pattaya. Thanks to the other BM's PM's checking on the shared ride. LeoTex
-
Mick, Look forward to meeting up with you. we have a few notes to compare, don't we? lol LeoTex

I arrive late (23:50) on Northwest from Tokyo on Thursday night the 20th of September and have Mr Toom booked to go straight to Pattaya. Anyone wishing to share a ride please post or send me a PM or email. Posting for sharing a ride has worked for me a few times in the past. If no one respons, I promise not to get angry and post a new thread to complain. Thanks in advance, LeoTex PS; Martin please don't close my thread, lol

"Anyone visiting 8 to 15 Aug let me know and maybe we can arrange some transport and catch up..Jboy" First of all, it's sorta hard since you don't have a date and time as well as where from the ride is starting. Maybe posting time and date would have helped a little. Also instead of starting a new thread, you should have posted to your first thread and given a date and time. I have posted on 'sharing rides' several time with getting hooked up twice. On both of these shar rides we have ended up being friends and have been back to Thailand and Pattaya many times again to meet up. I will agree with the other posters, having someone else arriving at the airport at the same time going to Pattaya is slim to none. I just checked the calendar for my arrival date and I think there are 3 of us. Spread that out over a 24 hour period and from many countries, what are the chances that we arrive any time close to each other. Not exspecting get a offer to share, I will post soon about my arrival at midnight the 20th of September from airport to Pattaya. LeoTex

First, let me please ask that you turn off your 'Caps Lock' key. Most of us on the board don't like being yelled at when someone ask a question for information. Thanks I stayed at the Golden Crab for a week back in July and just booked again this morning for a week in December. I stayed in a one bedroom. It had a living area as well as a kitchen area. In the kitchen there was a larger frig than the normal hotel room has. It also had a two burner stove top. There wasn't a hot pot, but I got one a few years back at Big C and bring with me each trip for making coffee in the morning. The pool isn't the largest, but served the purpose. If you need any more info, just ask. Hope this helps a little. LeoTex

SpinyNorman, I haven't stayed there, but do have reservations for a week in September. Last month I stopped by to confirm my reservations and had a look at a couple of the rooms. All in all, looks like a nice place to stay. Here is some information from a thread on Secrets, hope this helps. Pattaya Bay Resort info LeoTex

I have to agree with 'bastax33' about not having to find a place, in my case after a 27 hour trip. I book all my arrangements over the internet and reconfirm a week before my trip by email. After I arrive I can fine tune the reservation a little if I move about and change hotels a little early. At least up front I know what my rates will be. Also I think easier to book my transpertaion knowing where I will be staying. LeoTex

Broadband contections in Pattaya
LeoTex replied to twomp's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Lets don't forget Secrets, in the rooms as well as in the bar. Starbucks, but have to pay. Not a bad way to spend the morning (for us that get up early) having a cup of overprice coffee and overlooking the morning 'freelancer' on the beach while suffer the WWW. LeoTex PS; just picked up one of small 'wifi' gadget that you can carry around to check for a signal. Don't need to carry and boot up your laptop everytime to see if you can log on. -
Adam, Great photos and party. Even saw a few photos of my 'new best friend' from December. Try to see the video, but only got to their log in page asking for information to log in. Thanks again for sharing, LeoTex
