  1. I have used the dental clinic at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Made the apointment before I left for the LOS in September. I will go back in December for some follow up work. After my first apointment, I needed a little oral surgery and they scheduled it that evening. We all know the cost is cheap compared to western dental work. The greatest perk was the fact when you had a apointment at a scheduled time, they saw you at that time and you didn't have to wait. I needed to see the dentist a few days later and I called and they said be there in 30 minutes and would be worked in. I arrived and in less than 15 minutes he was working on me. If anyone needs any contact information, just PM me. LeoTex PS; the best part was they didn't hurt me and the dentist assistant wasn't hard to look at either.
  2. lv2play, I have to agree with you on this one. Where I live just the trip to Bangkok from my home is 30 plus hours. Two hour drive to the airport and tack on the two hour early arrival before flight, so thats 4 hours. Once the plane pushes off from the gate here to arrival in Bangkok is 26 1/2 hours, so now where up to 30 1/2 hours. Add in one more hour to get thru immigrations, luggage, customes and a taxi ride to a hotel in Bangkok, you now have 31 1/2 hours. To just check in the hotel and drop everything off and then hit the Soi without a shower, I don't think so!!!!!. Now you want to add more time when its been over 32 hours since the last shower. If you go directly to Pattaya you can add almost two more hours to the total trip, and yes, my flight also gets in at midnight. LeoTex PS; and would you share a ride with someone after a trip like this?????????
  3. I have been staying at the Dynasty for the last several years and I have never been charged a joiner fee either in Bangkok or Pattaya. One time when had 2 girls was asked to pay for the second girl. Next time just had one of the girls come to the room alone. LeoTex
  4. SoCalGuy, I book directly with the Sandy Spring. When I stay there and before I check out I will book my reservation for the next trip at the desk. Pay them for the first night and later when I get home I can fine tune the reservation a day or two based on my plans for when I arrive. BTW, when I was there in July after booking my September dates I also booked my December dates as they already had several reservations for December. Last year I tried to book for December when I was there mid September and they were all ready 100% booked for my dates. LeoTex
  5. I have stayed at the Sandy Spring for all my trips for the last two years. I was just there in July and will be back in about 2 weeks. I normally book the deluxe but have also stayed in a two room suite and think the price is very good for what you pay. I have one of the membership cards and the suite was about 1900 baht the last time I stayed in one. Dingo is correct the suite on the top floor isn't discounted and you do pay the full price of 2500 baht. I have always had good results with booking reservations by email and find that most time I get a reply in 24 hours or less. I also find the staff very helpful and very friendly. I just called a friend this morning that is staying there now and he said the only downside now is if you have a room on the Soi 13 side, because of the construction. I send off a email to change the room that I booked to a inside room and have already gotten a reply with a room change. LeoTex
  6. vince1, Follow the advice given by Mr He_Tet and do a seach on the subject. gator did a post a little while back with some good information, also he has a contact person at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital that should meet your needs. Give him a PM I emailed them and made a appointment to have a little work done in a couples of weeks, with doing a crown or two when I return in December. Hopes this helps, LeoTex
  7. Mr. Luggage, The Dynasty on Soi 13 has a entrance thru the carpark. You can walk in and go straight to the lift and bypass the front desk. I will only do that if I'm with a repeat and I know her. Like was mentioned, its not a bad idea sometime, to past by the front desk and have the girl leave her ID card with them. I know this had been discussed many many time on the pro and cons of having the girl leave her ID. I for one, don't mind at all if I'm with someone new. LeoTex
  8. The only reason I can think of needing 'fake Rolex' papers is selling fake Rolex watches. Looks like someone is trying to pass off fake watches as the real thing. Don't buy any Rolex watches on Ebay today. LeoTex
  9. I also don't see a problem leaving a deposit for the mini bar. My first trip to Pattaya I sayed at the Flipper Lodge on Soi 8. When I checked in they ask how I would be paying for the room. I said I would pay with cash when I checked out. I was then asked for 500 baht for a deposit on the mini bar. When I checked out I paid for the few items I used and then I got my 500 baht deposit back. I have also stayed many times at the Eastiny and without letting them run your credit card when checking in they will ask for a deposit on the mini bar. JoeDick, I don't see where you get extrotion out of the mini bar deposit since you get it back when checking out. My holidays in the LOS are way to short to get worked up over nothing. LeoTex
  10. Two week ago I left luggage at the domestic terminal. I was taking a side trip to Chiang Mai and when I returned I wanted to go straight to Pattaya on not back to my Bangkok hotel to pick up my extra bag. The luggage check is located in the hall by the check in counters. They charged me 70 baht per day. Great service and a cheap price not to hassel with extra luggage when taking short side trips and you want to travel light. LeoTex
  11. bonjojona was asking about the Dynasty in Bangkok and several have given good helpful hints for Pattaya. I have been using the Dynasty on Soi 4 in Bangkok for several years now and have booked using my credit card by fax. As they say "knock on wood" as I have never had any problems doing so. The first time I was asked for my credit card information by fax, I too was not real happy about doing so. I was also told that it would only be used for the first night if I was a no show. If I cancelled 48 hours before my reservation I wouldn't be charged for the first night. I did want to stay there, so I gave them the information needed. The trip was still several week off so I notified my bank and checked my credit card several times before the trip. I didn't have any charges on my card. Now what I do when checking out is let them run my credit card and they will hold for my next trip reservations. On one trip we had plane trouble and would delay my arrival into Bangkok to the next afternoon. By this time it was less than 6 hours before my check in time so I called the Dynasty from Toyko to tell them I would be arriving one day late. They said no problem and I wasn't charged for the first night. LeoTex
  12. I arrive back in Bangkok from Chiang Mai at 3:15 (15:15) on Monday July 18th and will be going straight to the Sandy Spring in Pattaya. If anyone is interested in sharing a ride, please let me know here or PM me. Thanks, LeoTex
  13. I will arrive in Pattaya on July 18 after a short trip to Chiang Mai. Should be in the FLB the next night and for sure on the 23rd for Ben's birthday party. I guess it helps when you see your 'Calendar Evevt' within the next 7 days posted. Forthcoming Calendar Events within the next 7 days terry68's first visit, RightSaid in Pattaya, A couple of squids., Franko Back for Good !!!, LeoTex arrives BKK LeoTex
  14. I would be very careful here with trying to book a ticket with www.etixcentral.com. When doing a search for a ticket a few flighs come up just like on Orbiz or any of the other legit travel sites on the internet. The first flight will be several hundred $$$ less than what you would normally find. Almost to good to be true. The next several flights are also at good prices. Again all the flights listed are ones from the airlines as they match up exactly as my search with Orbiz with same flight numbers and times of the flight. After going thru and putting in your credit card information you get a message that there is a problem with the transaction and a email will be send within the next 24 hours telling you how else you may pay for the ticket. A few hours later you get the email telling you that there is a problem with their credit card system and the transaction can't be process. The email goes on to say do nothing and don't try to make the purchase again untill they solve problem and they will get back with you soon on how to proceed with the purchase transaction. You would think that they would just ask you for a different card, but no they want a wire transfer of the funds for the ticket??????????? Early this moring I get the following email from etixcental; During investigation of the card transaction you've attempted to place, we cannot get an authorization by the bank for charging the specified amount. The only option I have is to proceed with an alternate method of payment, i.e. complete a wire transfer to our bank account. To process the payment, please use the following bank info: Bank name: Postbank SWIFT: BPBIBGSF Account number: 1166407815 Beneficiery: Euros LTD Address: 1 Kuzman Shopkarev st. Sofia 1000, Bulgaria Please, indicate 'Funding H7301etix' within the wire transfer remark field. All fees are to be covered by our company and the exact amount to be sent for the airfare is 746.19 USD. Once I have the payment confirmed by our billing department, I'll issue the tickets immediately. The ticket will be on hold until you complete the wire transfer and we receive your payment information. If you have difficulties arranging the wire transfer, please ask your bank for additional support on how to complete it or use e-banking.Thanks for understanding and sorry for the inconvenience! As this is the credit card I use to purchase all my airline tickets to Thailand I contact them to see what the problem is. My credit card company tells me that there isn't a problem with my account and I can charge as many tickets I see fit. I ask them to research and see if etixcentral tried to run a transaction thru and they get back to me and say No. They also tell me that if a charge was run thru for my credit card it would show up as a pending and there wasn't one. I know with using a credit card and you have a problem with a bogus purchase they will investigate and you will be credited for the charge. With sending a wire transaction, once the money is sent your shit out of luck with getting your ticket or a refund. They also have a on line live help chat set up. I did get on line and got the same thing about the problem with their (etixcentral) having a problem with its credit card system and the only way to purchase a ticket would be to send them a wire transfer. I explained during the chat that I just didn't have that kind of money sitting in my bank to purchase a ticket by cash and the only way I could do it was by credit card. I ask when there system would be up and running again. They wouldn't answer my questions and also never said anything about my credit card beging turned down. I told them there wasn't a problem with their system if indeed my card got ran thru and was rejected. After I said that they closed the live chat with me. I guess when I challenged them on the transaction they were finished with me and would move on to the next sucker. I think we have a scam here to scheme people with a illegal sale of a airline ticket that that you will never get. LeoTex
  15. nidnoyham, I start my preperation about 2 to 3 weeks before my schedule trip. The problem for me is that I don't drink alot so I must get some practice in before I arrive in the LOS. I find that this does help me alot to be in shape for drinking a few beers or mixed drinks at each place I visit durning the day and evening. I think that if I didn't put in the effort at home before the trip I would be missing out on all the socializing in Pattaya. LeoTex
  16. I'm at the Dynasty on Soi 13 now. I have a inside room on the 3rd floor and can't hear any of the construction noise from Soi 13. I will move to the Sandy Spring in the moring for the next week and few days. I have a buddy also staying there now. He has a room that has a view of Soi 13 and you can hear alittle noise coming from the construction across Soi 13. I asked for a room futher away from the Soi and checked it out and couldn't hear any noise, so will take that room in the moring. All that going on at this time is light construction, but can it gearing up soon. Hope this helps alittle, LeoTex
  17. butterfly69, I have stayed at the Sandy Spring on my last several trips and never been asked for the girl or girls ID. I agree with kikc69, its hit or miss. I think if you don't want the desk to take the ID, just walk in and go straight to the lift. If you picked up a beach freelancer or not sure if you have a katoy, stop by the desk and have them take a look at the ID. LeoTex
  18. gs joe, Songkran is April 13th, 14th and 15th, and after that the water will slow down a little (very little) for the next few days. On April 19 it will go into full swing again, and that should be the last day. LeoTex
  19. Martin/Ben, Paypal donation on the way, hope it helps the family of Om alittle. My thoughts are with them and her friends at the FLB. LeoTex
  20. Indead very sad news. She will be missed very much by the FLB staff, customers and anyone who knew her. Sometimes like BigDUSA said, I would come in early and sit at the bar and chat with her. Always had a smile and she was a very sweet girl. LeoTex

  22. but I miss it more!!! LeoTex
  23. butterfly69, The Sandy Spring does have 'safety boxes' located behind the receiption desk. You get a key and must be used with the hotel key to open the box. The boxes are in full sight of the counter. I haven't had any problems or have heard of anyone having a problem with this setup. As far a pictures of the rooms and more information go to the 'hotel review' section of the board or log on to the Sandy Spring website. They show photos of the rooms. Room photos I arrive at the Sandy Spring on April 11th. Hope this helps, LeoTex
  24. kikc69, I think the rooms are very nice for the price. I have stayed there on 4 different trips. If you get the membership card you can get the room at discount price. However they will not discount the suites on the top floor. Again this moring about 9:00 AM walked by the Sandy Spring from leaving the Dynasty and no loud noise. Some small tool work going one and couldn't hear inside the hotel. LeoTex
  25. Stayed at the Dynasty on Soi 13 last night (Dec 17th). Didn't have any noise in the from the construction next door from the new condos being built. Out in the hallway you could hear alittle noise from hand tools, but not enough to keep me from staying there at this time. Will leave for a few days and check back in again for the remainder of the trip. Walked down Soi 13 to Beach Rd. and stopped in the Sandy Spring to reconfirm by April reservations. I ask if I would check out one of the rooms and they gave me the key to one of the suites on the top floor. In the room I couldn't hear any of the noise from the work being done on the Haven hotel next door. Across Soi 13 from the Sandy Spring there was some major consturction going on, but couldn't hear it in the room, but could from the balcony. I wouldn't stay at the Inn Hotel or what every the name is across from Sandy Spring, would stay at the Sandy Spring. Will gave a update before leaving. LeoTex
