  1. simon To reply to your query, as I can see where you're coming from, about 3 hours usually, I am not sure who Thai use as handling agents at LHR, Eva use AA and they open up over 4 hours before.
  2. I have not looked at every post, any board members voted for Handjob airlines, yes that one, you'll all have seen the video. :) Myself, it is Eva for me, I'll be on BR068 tomorrow, I do admit they are a bit stingy with the drinks though, it doesn't bother me because I'll have had a bellyfull in the lounge..
  3. Utapao near to Rayong/Pattaya was used when the coloured shirts brigade were out and about at Swampy. It has a very long runway but not very good immigration/customs/passenger facilites. People called Suvarnabhumi "Swampy" but it appears to be standing up quite well to the floods.
  4. It seems strange to blame it on the floods when they say Suvarnabhumi is operating normally, also the flights which are cancelled to the 30th are mostly midweek ones. Maybe the crew cannot reach BKK on those days because of water problems.

I am really enjoying reading your tales of woe and I can fully empathise with you.

When you get to the end can you give members a run down of what is happening with PT and all the other main story figures in 2011.

    Keep up the great work.

  6. Do you think that Thai will cut their BKK-LHR flights from two to one per day once they take deivery of the A380?
  7. Have any board members heard of anyone using a 100 baht note as a Fast track pass, or are you dealing with more than 1 person?
  8. In the past I have found queues at the first immigration point and gone to the second, still as bad When I reach the first one if they are not queing down the slope I tend to weasle up the left hand side and join the last farang queue, sometimes you are then moved into the less busy Thai section.
  9. The Ours travel web site shows fares from £570, on their special offers page it is about £350 + taxes etc for January, http://www.ourstravel.com/new/lang/en/special-offers This should come to about £570.
  10. I am not sure of the availability but Ours Travel are showing £570 for January on their web site.
  11. toss3r You may have to 'Box Clever' as most airport lounges have a limit of around 3 hours.
  12. pigboy G row does not have a box under the seat in front of you.
  13. Monkeyman, you have persuaded me to try the No1 lounge when I fly out in 7 weeks time, the link I provided means you can get the No1 lounge for £21.25.
  14. Here is a link which gives about 10% discount for airport lounges, worldwide inc Swampy. www.loungepass.com/tp/baa1 Chok Dee
  15. Monkeyman Thanks for the heads up on the new travellerno1 lounge, did you have many to drink? I like to have 3 or 4 small bottles of beer then 2 or 3 G&Ts before boarding the Eva air flight. As a barman serves you I didn't know if they kept an eye on how much passengers were knocking back. I agree that the Servisair lounge is minging, but it serves a purpose. I preferred the SAS London lounge which Eva used to use, they now use the Admirals Club (AA)but it costs about £40 to go in, not worth it IMHO. If there are no problems in having half a dozen drinks in the TravellerNo1 lounge I don't mind spending the extra cos the Servisair lounge is shite.
  16. papillon I don't think there is a smoking area, but I do not smoke, actually I just remembered smelling smoke in the Servisair toilet, so I guess there is not.
  17. Reg Thanks for the link, I see it is 1300 with electric cart or 700 without. It always seems along walk at BKK but I suppose it gets the blood circulating after a long flight. This service maybe better for members who only have carry on baggage, sometimes I have got through immigration quickly but still had to wait for my baggage.
  18. Bazle I think that you can just turn up and pay your £25, the web site should tell you all the details, enjoy your trip.
  19. Before boarding your BR or TG flight to Bangkok from LHR there is a new lounge open, http://www.no1traveller.com/ It costs £25 but there are usually some discounts to be had. I have not used this new lounge yet but I think that it is just through the doors from the retail area. It also has a bar, a barman serves drinks and probably counts too. I shall continue to use the Servisair lounge, a Fiver cheaper and help yourself to booze.
  20. There she blows!!!!!!!!! I think this volcano is smaller than last years, also the airlines won't stand for being grounded this time around. Kick the tyres and light the fires, Bangkok or Bust.
  21. Thanks for that Dennis, RIP to the Thai gent.
  22. I have just checked out Wednesdays BR067 and it has been diverted to Delhi, I expect this is for either a technical or medical reason. I hope that any BMs currently waiting at LHR get to Bangkok OK. Chin Up
  23. whacky You should be able to purchase an Eva Air lounge ticket at the Eva air ticket desk, price is about 800 baht. The lounge has a shower and free internet. Food and drink selection is very good although in December I got food poisoning from the lounge food and was really sick on the flight back to LHR. Last week i didn't bother with the lounge but food and drink is very expensive at the airport outlets.
  24. Here's the link for booking airline lounges at a discount. edit to fix link. Glyn
  25. Squirting I quite like the Japanese girls but don't the Jap guys make some strange noises?
