Absolutely correct. If you pay back in full each month these are the rates you get. No further charges. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Regarding Credit Card use and misinformation posted on the site. I attach my recent spends on my Nationwide Credit Card which clearly shows the conversion rate. I once again confirm that some smaller businesses feel the need to surcharge by 3% or so in which case don't use the card or go elsewhere. Once again I say to the original poster mix and match your spending money but don't buy Baht in your home country.

I don't use a cc much in Thailand but the few times I have the hotels charged an extra fee If you don't use your credit card here why do you feel it necessary to contradict other board members who do? I too can post opinions about things that I do not use in Thailand but don't as I would not like to mislead the forum with irrelevant information. As previously stated some smaller businesses may ask for a surcharge; if so this is often 3% but with a no-fee card offering rates at parity with the market you can calculate if this is beneficial or not. To the original poster: I recommend bringing several different options including cash but DO NOT buy Thai Baht in your own country. Rates here in Thailand are much better for exchanges. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

I too use my Nationwide Credit Card for as many purchases as possible and get the same rate as the exchange booths. There are not transaction costs although as previously stated, some retailers pose a minimum transaction limit. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

You don't actually. Just e-mail them ask for FLB rate and pay THB 1,450 not 1,500. I will be there in under a week. info@pattaya-apartments.com and mention FLB rate in the subject line and you're fine. I have only stayed there and never used the site. Good luck and please report your progress. I can only reiterate my advice of booking through pattayapages website after long discussion with hotel management. Perhaps you are special whereas I am not. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

That's a very good point. We've had a close working relationship with the Residence Garden for over a decade, and they do give our website users the very best deal they can. That is exactly what they told me martin when I unsuccessfully tried to get the FLB rate on the first night after walking in. Subsequent nights were at the FLB rate after booking through your website. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Please note that in order to get the best price you must book through to your pattayapages website in advance. Doing this, it cost me 1500 bath per night. As a walk in I was charged 2200 baht for a night. None of the Internet booking sites could match the flb pattayapages website. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

I do the same. Walked in jomtien yesterday as well. pavements are a bit bad again though as some utility has dug bloody great holes every 30 metres or so and has left disturbed uneven paving slabs between. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

I am staying there right now. The family mart opposite is fine for single items. tesco lotus is two songthaw rides away for big things. At 7pm it is quicker to walk to walking street than using a baht bus. Downside from my expert cook viewpoint is that there is no microwave in the suite. Not a bad place to stay. Breakfast in hotel lacks selection but cost only 161 baht and is good. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Have you fixed it Mr Darkman? An update from you would be invaluable for others in a similar situation. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Yes of course. But not at the same time unless quantum physics is brought into the equation. /quote] . I'm confused now. Can one bus turn both ways? posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2. -

I have sent you a private message. You could contact your normal service provider and ask them to send you a configuration file via sms. Otherwise spend £1 on lycamobile sim and the lycamobile config instructions are here. http://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/mobilewebsettings posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Don't forget the tolls. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Is it data voice or both what do not work? remember that you have to set a configuration file up. Look at your service providers website. Alternately spend a pound of your local news agent and buy a lycamobile sim to the see if that works. I use that service all the time in the uk, unlimited data, and calls to thailand at 2 pence per minute are available as an add ons. Please let me know how you get on as I am considering buying something similar. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

I too have found recently that the buses are often full. Perhaps we should spread a message that the service is rubbish in order to conserve seats for us. Taxi is far better everyone. Don't worry about the speeding driver, the cost of the tolls and drivers being unable to find your hotel. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Bus compared to taxi has a saving of around 1000 baht as there are no tolls to pay with the bus. Choice of two bus routes. The first hourly to jomtien where you have to then get local transport. This bus is 134 baht and also stops at 3 locations on Sukhumvit. The other bus goes directly to Pattaya north bus station and then transfers you to your hotel by local van. Costs around 200 baht. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Need advice from the Board. Bringing the GF to Thailand
Severn replied to mrstein's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I am currently in Ao Nang and am enjoying it immensely. Good weather, excellent scenery, plenty to do and see. Imho it is far better here than hua hin or Samui for an interesting romantic break. Easy to get to with cheap flights from bangkok. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2. -
She made quite a fuss of getting them back when she realised her machinations had failed. Perfect time to speak gibberish only. I use a mixture of german and italian with scottish accent love the reaction. Using the tactic with a mouthful of half eaten orange would be brilliant. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

I believe this is an exaggeration. I doubt I could get off the plane in England, get government payments, a house and free medical. Just saying...If so, I might be over there soon I suppose I could claim asylum being from the USA. Martin only a slight exaggeration. Many people come to take advantage of free medical treatment, emergency or routine. Houses are freely available to those that can make a case, or if you are unable to make a case because you cannot speak the language. No problem with claiming benefits should you be a little short of cash. When you had enough of the place you can apply for a return ticket free of charge. Some eastern europeans use the free ticket option to go home for a holiday before returning to their house and benefits. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.

Thanks for that update Tom. I use that route quite often and it has previously been more expensive than to the more distant Udon Thani. Perhaps competition will reduce the Smiles price. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2. Thai AirAsia start the Khon Kaen route later this month - the OP is travelling in January. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.
