  1. But....... I booked through a big holiday company, not direct with the airline so I am not sure your hypothesis is correct. More possibly.... Empty seats just above cost. Used PayPal so no CC charges either. Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  2. 19th June last year, looked for flights to Bangkok return one month later. Qatar from Birmingham with short transfer times departing 22nd June. £351.00 all inclusive, cattle class of course on dreamliner and a380. Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  3. I have used them in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and UK using the uber app but have never heard about a tipping facility. I always understood the price quoted was the price paid or deducted from your credit card. Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  4. Tip? Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  5. Being over 70 years of age I always use the premium lanes when arriving and departing. For arrivals use the Premium lanes that are signposted and which are located in between the two normal immigration areas. For departures they are located at the bottom of the escalators that take the younger people up to security then down to departing immigration. Allow 5 minutes or so to complete the formalities. 6. Roi Et has more than 20 hotels and resorts but none are shown on that site. Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  7. OK, I'll bite. What is the bank that gives 8% back please? Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  8. Exactly the same situation in June. Not a big problem although I am unsure about duty free liquids from Bangkok as I didn't have any. I came back through Doha and found it an extremely long distance from arrival gate to the main terminal where there was also a security check in place. Amsterdam is relatively compact and has excellent airside facilities. Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  9. I have been through from Birmingham to Bangkok and vv. The return was one month ago. I just followed the transfer signs, not the eu passport signs. From Birmingham a smooth walk to the BKK gate without hindrance, from BKK I had to go through security before entering the departure floor of the airport. No problems. An hour should be enough time to transfer. Bags are checked through but I only ever have a 8kg carry on . Sent from my ASUS_Z010D using Tapatalk
  10. Container ships carry 20ft and 40ft containers, not idividual crates. You need to find an export agency that deals with consolidation of freight into a container. You might want to search using the acronym LCL to Turkey. LCL is Less than Container Load. I would be interested in learning how you travelled here and of any highlights or adventures encountered. Wishing you luck with your search. I found this link with a single Google search so I guess that there are others waiting to be discovered. http://www.seafreightcalculator.com/179/sattahip-thailand-to-bodrum-turkey-20ft-cont
  11. I'll have a secure box please. Can you deliver it to Roi Et or do I have to collect? Sent from my LG-H324 using Tapatalk
  12. Maybe its because there is already another branch a few hundred meters away? Festival centre basement.
  13. I am coming next week using klm out of Birmingham for £422 and getting 200 nectar points. Best price for years with stopover times of less than 2 hours. Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  14. I returned to my house in England late on Tuesday and I agree with Jacko it is bloody freezing. Roi-Et where I normally live had been up around 40c and England 12c. A drop of 28 degrees takes a while to acclimatise. Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  15. Both sites have QUALITY prescription glasses as cheap as £20 and will even make them as sunglasses. At that price I carry a spare set and keep a distance pair in my car dashboard. I have used and recommend both suppliers. Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  16. I am at the ibis Hua Hin. I called in on spec as I was tired driving up from Ranong in the rain. Reception wanted 1960 baht for one night, Hotels.com app on my phone gave UK £31 so I stood in reception and booked online. In seconds the receptionist had my booking on her computer and in minutes I was in my room. The confirmation is shown on the app and I got a 10% discount for using my mobile. After every 10 night's you get a free night. I post this to demonstrate that it works in 'real-time' Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical err
  17. Eye test UK and get prescription. Order off the internet leaving 2 weeks for your newly prescribed glasses to be made and delivered to your home address. Try Spex4less Www.Spex4less.Com and Glasses2you. I recommend both and you will save a small fortune on Thai or UK prices. 18. I first check priced with Wego.com which compared the prices of a hotel from all the leading booking firms including taxes. I then log onto Quidco and check the discounts offered, for example with booking.com it is usually about 10% discount. I follow the link and book. A few weeks later Quidco credits my bank account with the discount. Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  19. Short, I am interested to know what Agoda's take on this was? Did they reimburse you for the additional items that you were forced to take? Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  20. I guess that you will need to factor in the cost of a U.K. boss tko Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  21. No. 10 times the price. 20 baht for thai and 200 for foreigners. Tried to bargain with thai driving licences but the charming lady in the booth was having none of it. Still worth a visit though. Posted from my phone using predictive text, please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
  22. I would also think 4 maybe 5 hours sufficient time to drive Pattaya to Hua Hin, as stated previously it is all motorways and good dual carriageway. I don't think you will have much traffic providing you don't do the stretch to the south of Bangkok at 5pm or on a public holiday. Leave Pattaya at 10am on a weekday and enjoy the ride. PS. Your car looks expensive. I usually pay around 1000 baht per day all in however I appreciate that you may have chosen the luxury option. 23. Do it. You will not have any problems and the route to Hua Hin is very straightforward, even without GPS. Stay out of central Bangkok until you are fully familiar with driving here as the one ways and u turns are very confusing. For HH you stay south of Bangkok on motorways and good dual carriageways. 24. What queue? This is Thailand, just walk to the back of the bus and get on. Others may be waiting for more comfortable seating arrangements or just having a talk amongst themselves. Biggest downside is after 3:30 ish when you sit on the bus and wait for it to fill. Usually not too long and gives an opportunity to strike up conversations with your fellow passengers.
  25. Good luck, but don't forget that if you pay for airline you will need to give her a copy of your bank statement to submit with her UK visa application. Can you let the forum know the prices you manage to obtain please. posted from my Samsung using Tapatalk 2.
