  1. Thanks for the update. At 22 pounds I should be okay now that I have switched the roller bag for an Osprey pack. I suspect they might be a little more flexible for the higher price ticket.
  2. Anyone have recent experience with Carhay Pacific regarding carryon limits? I am planning to go business class and their website shows 15 pounds for carryon limit. I don't know if they are strict about it or not,
  3. I am going to try the Osprey Porter Duffel 46 to see if I can give up the wheels and still survive. I agree that 25 pounds would be too heavy to lug through large airports, but I am thinking that 10-15 pounds would be okay. The Osprey pack has connectors that allow you to use it as a shoulder carry bag. I'll let you know how it works out.
  4. Are the "Happy" SIM cards still available in the arrival hall at Swampy airport?
  5. Singapore is a great airline, just not as convenient from the west coast as EVA.
  6. Yes. I think you may get a better rate if you change your currency to baht first, and then deposit it in a local bank. Not sure quite how much difference it makes though.
  7. I have an older Nokia candy bar style phone I bought at Big C 4 years ago. Will it still work (with or without) a new SIM card, or am I better off just getting a new phone when I arrive?
  8. I think as the price of P4P rises, the scene will change, as it has over the years in places like HKG, and Singers.
  9. WKRP in Cincinnati (Dr. Johnny Fever)
  10. I would guess that perhaps you are on business, thus only the computer. Does seems to satisfy them?
  11. How does one go about getting a CX Premium card? I was considering using CX or JAL for my next trip.
  12. I assume that the "special" immigration line for first/business class is good for all carriers flying int Swampy ( not just Thai Air ).
  13. Think I will stick to ios devices.
  14. Does anyone know if Cathay Pacific is using the 77W exclusively, on it's LAX-HKG route. I think they still use the B744 on some of their international routes.
  15. I had to admit I am looking forward to the premium economy on the CX LAX-HKG next year I think. Can't tolerate economy, and business class is too pricey for my budget.
  16. I have flown both SQ and EVA recently from USA to Asia. Both were good. Can anyone review/recommend ANA from US to Asia. .
  17. Yes, CX pretty much has a lock on Hong Kong as a stopover/hub for trips to LOS. I hope they keep the quality up, as I have read some rather poor reviews lately. I too am looking forward to premium economy, as biz class is really expensive.
  18. If you log on to your bank, best to do it on your own machine and not a public one.
  19. Have you considered either of the following: Page 10 Sea Me Spring I believe they are both located on soi 10.
  20. Please let us know how the soi sea me looks to you. I think other BMs may be very interested.
  21. Does anyone know if the CX LAX-HKG-BKK routes will offer premium economy class ?
  22. Just curious what the interview consists of ? (type of questions)
  23. Mine was already unchecked. Not sure why though.
  24. Just when you think the coast is clear, a motorbike comes streaking toward you (seemingly out of nowhere)
  25. Although, the last few times I've looked at the EVA Biz class fare (LAX-BKK) it was around $4k (maybe a little more). The SQ fare is around 7k+ (with a less direct connection from the West coast). I agree that SQ provides a complete step higher in a quality experience, and may very well be worth the money.
