nidnoyham, I think the AirAsia product is aimed at those folk who want to go on from KL e.g. Clark, Siem Reap, Vietnam etc and that's where the value lies, not in 14 days at Pattaya-on-Sea. I'm booked with them in March but I was already booked up to be in Malaysia for around 10 weeks beforehand so it ties in well for me. Funnily enough, the exchange rates now make it good value for those guys in LOS with Baht income to book their flights commencing in UK rather than LOS. The equivalent of around 75k baht for a biz class trip is good value at the moment.

The credit card doesn't need to be valid at the time of check-in, only at the time of booking. You are only required to present the card that was used to make the booking.

I'm sure that there are loads of instances around town at the moment where folk are trying to get maximum baht for minimum service. It isn't just the girls ..... hotels, bars, shops etc are sure to be trying to make whatever baht they can in what is widely predicted to be a pretty crap peak season. As another poster said, the OP has probably done the bar in question a favour by highlighting a potential problem.

Brown1950, Thanks again. As an aside, TG is also reducing it's fuel surcharge on the LHR route by over 70 USD in each direction which should knock something in the region of 100 quid off the price of a return ticket. The A340 could be a bit of a decent buy ..........
