  1. I'm looking at just under 2k a night for the Holiday Inn.
  2. The Fiend's reply was in direct response to BigD's "innocent quote". I didn't see anything wrong with it - it seemed a perfectly innocent question. I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill - or just stirring the shit. Personally, I look forward to BigD's TR from his new lodgings - I know how much he likes to shoot the shit about fine malts and jazz with those Ruskies. BTW, what's the tea-party got to do with the OP?
  3. I'm sure prices will drop a bit to fill the increased capacity ex Manchester. In my experience, good deals for Sep through to the end of Oct tend to appear around the time of the late May Bank Holiday.
  4. Which agent is doing flights at 425 quid? I'm sure some BMs would suffer Etihad's sardine class at that price.
  5. I, and millions of others, thought that after 90 minutes against Bayern Munich in 1999.
  6. Anywhere got anything special arranged for the game?
  7. Pretty much so. Jasmine pulled out of TT+T a couple of years ago and formed a new Company (TripleT) and took Maxnet (TT+T's broadband service) with it as part of TT+T's debt restructuring. Maxnet was then rebranded 3BB.
  8. Give them a call on 1530 - they have English-speaking customer service people. The couple of times that I've called them, they were already onto the problems and sorted them out pretty sharpish (within an hour).
  9. Brownie, Thanks for that - I owe you a few beers. Presumably it will be an A340 same as Stansted - I would think that KUL-MAN must be right on the limit of what an A330 can do. Good stuff for the guys who want to go on to Angeles as well.
  10. Search by schedule, not price.
  11. The daily schedule looks OK to me ...
  12. So, it's a good option if you don't mind being banged up with some paralytic East Europeans for a couple of hours. Not to mention the odd suicide bomber.
  13. You can go with BigD's xenophobic rants, or you can lean towards more credible industry views ...
  14. Frosty, It seems your incompetence is right up there alongside that of the Thai police. The ongoing story has been big news in the UK and Oz/NZ for a while now. Or, more plausible, you could have just been reading The Telegraph (or any one of several online newspapers) that have carried the story recently. A simple search on Richard Carter Thailand brings up the website as the first ranked result.
  15. The Oman Air Biz Class is a bargain. It's probably one of the best business class products around.
  16. It certainly looks like Mr and Mrs D getting in line early for the buffet.
  17. I think the current A380 from/to MAN provides connections from/to the DXB-BKK-HKG-BKK-DXB A380. IMO, it isn't worth getting the A380 on one leg if the next leg is on a high-density 777.
  18. Thanks for that, BigD. Some really useful info there.
  19. The OP specifically stated from UK to BKK - only Emirates fly the A380 to BKK. Flying with SQ would require a change of aircraft in Singapore. Not quite true - the seats on Emirates A380 are wider than those fitted in their high-density 777s.
  20. They (Fulham) already have a Johnny Haynes statue (and a stand, and a road). The next statue was obviously a toss-up between Jacko and Jimmy Hill. Good call by Moh'd, I reckon. The next one will be a tribute to Dodi and Dirty Di!
  21. I took 25/1 EW @ 1/4 odds places 1-5. It was good enough to turn an overall 120% profit for the weekend. Great entertainment on the box ... I had trouble keeping up with the constantly changing permutations. Was feeling knackered today though .... and we've still got 'Pool-City tonight and ManU-Chelsea tomorrow to come.
  22. Not very well - at least according to the owner of Sky-Top.
  23. Getting back to the OP - one of the things that makes hi-so in Thailand such a big deal is wealth distribution. Very much a case of the 'haves' and 'have nots'.
  24. Can a Thai farang not be considered hi-so then?
