Here's an idea. If you want to do something for the enviroment take an indirect flight. Ever wondered what the CO2 emissions are for lugging that extra fuel around the globe to save an hour for re fuelling? There must be an equation that extrapolates an extra take off /ie extra fuel useage against fuel transit.

It's certainly an impressive looking building outside and probably quite lavishly furnished inside with fountains and stuff... Haven't we got any member's who could, for want of a better description, pass the door test and enlarge on this topic please... -
Agree with Farman's posts, and chances are a couple of the legs of the journey the plane will only be half to three quarters full, esp the 01.55 overnight back to London.

I think Big Chief speak with fork tongue when he tell squaw he working... I think Big Big Chief do rain dance too much lately...

Make sure you put on your 'Pattaya Hat' when you turn off Sukummvit. There's no industry here. No sensible jobs. It only exists thanks to money coming in from outside. So keep the money coming in and it's safe'ish

A footnote if you do the long transit time. Etihad policy is to give free hotel room and food if transit is longer than eight hours. Twenty five of us queued at desk in A.D. while each voucher for the hotel is hand-written out. Then took two hours to get to hotel, which was by the sea. You exit from transit lounge through big short tunnel and turn right (ignore hanging sign saying 'transit hotel left', go through customs and wait for transit coach. Your stowed luggage stays at A.D. for onward flight so its a good idea to keep your trunks in hand luggage with you. They now charge at the trans

Thanks Tom, Paul. I guess if the flight no longer exists that's it. However at least I get back the same time. I return May 6th. I think I'll see if they roll out the red carpet at A.D. and later maybe talk to ATOL. I believe they mean well and Gatwick is convenient. It should be interesting from June 4th to see how things settle down Regards flighty

No reason guys, just email from lastminute 'the airline has made some schedule changes to your itinery', 'beyond our control', 'if not suitable full refund taking up to a maximum of 8 - 10 weeks' First time in ten flights with them this happened. I wonder if Tom has any thoughts..

Etihad just docked twelve hours off my 8 day trip! So the return at 21.00 is now 09.05...with twelve hour in Abu D... Should have kept my mouth shut about how much fun it is A.D. (see earlier post on this thread) Mai pen rai

Thanks for the warnings about flights changes guys. Just booked April 27th out GW -BK -GW £367.50. Gatwick seems about £40 cheaper than Heathrow. I've done the 20 hour stopover at Abu Dhabi and we quite enjoyed it! Ten minute drive to slap up hotel with great all you can eat restaurant, pool, gym, big sandy beach tho couldn't see the sea! I think we'll hear more about Abu Dhabi as they start to compete with Dubai.

Hi guismo, My golfing pals always stay there, and they like all home comforts. Guest friendly and six minute walk all the action and beach. Cheers

Terminal 2 Uptome... It looks to me that pricewise lately Etihad is being undercut by Royal J, Emirates and China. I am looking at dates after Songkran late April, anyone care to speculate on Etihad coming up with lower offers soon...

2 hours in Amman out, 6 hours in Amman back. But £70 cheaper than Etihad

Tom et al, I'm taking a tape measure next trip - back to Hrow Thursday, both legs of flight Etihad A 330s but I'm sure different leg room. I don't see any mention yet of what the leg room will be on the 777's?...and anyone care to say what the extra capacity will do to check in times... A couple of minus's this trip, there's been more hassle once on board with these guys who won't let their wife(s) sit next to a male passenger, heard this going on twice out of the four legs of my return trip - this should be sorted at check-in. On the plus side Gatwick is quicker for me, probably less stac

Another good reason to use Emirates or Etihad, they've got the oil wells out there...

Which dates have you come before Arky

Likewise Etihad usually no problems; watch that some flights go to / from Gatwick; also catering can be a bit, er, unsynchronised.... Last trip the yogurt for the Lamb Biriani turned up after the coffee

Re: Galaxy - All drinks for visiting lady guests are 200 baht, then a lady drink for performers is 200 baht with a special lady drink 350 baht. Or you could go to Top Girls Soi 14 and have a free drink... you know the one where the water turns to coke... (tastes a bit bleachy though)

Teelack, We'll be clearing customs out of International about 8.30a.m on the 8th, via Etihad EY403 from Abu Dhabi. If it's delayed till near 1pm I'll look out for you. I'll be wearing grey Giorgio sweatshirt. Might be able to save a short time's worth here! Flighty

Lets hope the new drains will be big enough to cope with all the pubic hair and accidentally dropped telephones that find their way into the system

I always go with Etihad. Airbus 2-4-2 seat config, route via Gatwick sometimes, I llike Abu Dhabi, you don't walk far with its clock - shape terminal layout. In flight food good. No silly films to have to watch. Good free hotel and transit if you have to stay overnight Abu Dhabi. More or less instant check in at Terminus's as the smaller planes mean less marshalling folk around everywhere. As a second I'd probably go with Gulf. 5 weeks

Any photos of this unhappy incident? Is the nice portfolio of the girls outside the club damaged...

Both Thai Air and Etihad are quoting £409 net in September thru Travelocity but all in inc. taxes are £474 and £447 respectively. Personally I don't mind stretching legs in Abu Dhabi for an hour but my hunch is Etihad need to come down more to compete in this situation. Any thoughts guys...

£348.11 + tax! Check it out at Travelocityfor April / May! They want you! From yesterday, I love these guys, instant check in, Gatwick, 1 hour turn round at Abu Dhabi... No frills, Good timings, ready for shagging straight off the plane. See you late February Flighty
