Good, crap..... The point is that I haven't played it. I'll get to it sometime. -

Nice one. Thanks. I normally get over there with a return ticket, a hotel booking, a big grin and a hard on. This time it looks like I'll need a PA as well! -

Doggie, I'd like to play it, purely because haven't played it. After 5 holidays golfing out there I still haven't got to Laem Chaebang, Century Chonburi or the Asia par 3 course. I've ticked off the rest on a golf map I picked up in 2000 (a Thai-Ger golf freebee). -
Rental Clubs for November
Big_Brian replied to doghaus's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
I've just been re-reading all the golf days (drinking), parties (drinking), Chiang Mai trip (drinking). I'll be bringing my own clubs, but does anyone know where I can rent a liver? -
Count me in too please.

Erm....I've flown LHR-BKK with BA half a dozen times. Bought ticket, checked in, flew. No problems, 30Kg baggage when carrying golf clubs. Have been bumped to business 3 times and world traveller once. I'll be with EVA next trip, but will happily fly with BA again.
-
Don't know if you're a golfer, but Nok + allows 25kg baggage, if you've got clubs with you that could save you money on excess baggage charges. edit; oops, the numbers got lost somewhere; it was 25Kg baggage.

There are only two things in all of this that don't go together. Plans and LOS.

Who's team is this guy on again? I'm definitely getting the impression that he bats for the other side.

I've just gone back and read your trip report, nasty. I'm worried now,my house was searched in February (for an unrelated matter) and they found one of the tazers in my bedside cabinet. It was there for home defence if ever needed and I haven't even got the torch excuse, it was a real tazer. I haven't yet heard what, if any, outcome that will have for me. I'll have to consider whether "I bought it from a man in a pub" is better than having brought it through customs. Given my situation, I could lose BOTH my jobs if that went to court. Bugger. Best of luck on Friday, hope we'll

Callum, Are you still planning to send the clubs by road to save excess baggage charges?
-
Unless I meet someone special in Pattaya before the trip (what's the chance of that ), I'll take pot luck with the local Chiang Mai wildlife.

I've found that booking LATE makes it cheaper, but of course you run the risk of not getting the date you want - or a flight at all.

Well 65 boardies have read this and no replies. I've fixed it by putting November on again, purely as November. So, 31 Oct - 4 Dec shows up in Oct and Dec only but 1-30 Nov shows up fine in November. I'd still like to know why but it's on there now.
-
"the pick of the pissed up FLB girls" And that differs from every night in Pattaya how? Never mind, I'll enjoy it more because some yank is paying the barfine. (waits for the flak)
-
doghaus, I never did ask; who's the prize?
-
OK added that too. I'm thinking about when to book for winter 06 even before I get there this year - I have to get a life!
-
Here's a peculiar one, I've just input my next trip on the calendar; 31 October - 4 December. Ii show up on 31 October on the calendar, and on 1-4 December. It doesn't show in November at all. Anyone know why? I just input the event as a range.

Thanks, bookmarked for next trip.

Sexy Caddies???? You'll go a long way to beat this one. Pattaya Country Club, Jan 04. She certainly gave me something to look at while waiting (and waiting, and waiting) on the tees. She wasn't even my caddy, but she was sweet and about as far from a BG as you can get. OK, so she was probably too young to work in a bar then, but she's probably getting there now. I keep hoping to see her in one, I'd love to see that face on a pillow - my pillow.

doghaus, Definitely playing; Europe Shirt - about 6 or 7 XL I don't have a current UK handicap, but on PSC I'm off 28. email - you have that already.

Golfing All Year Round?
Big_Brian replied to jack_daniels's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Join either society and put 5 cards in, they'll handicap you. Both are CONGU and are "real" handicaps, they should be accepted anywhere. The only problem that you may have is that, until you get a handicap from one of them, you may be off scratch if you enter a comp. Most golf days are comps, even if only a 200Baht entry. Personally I just consider that a fee for the organising, it's worth it to have someone sort the transport, tee times and playing groups out. -
I got 21A for my outbound flight, I like a window. EVA told me that the best seats go to customers in Tiawan and Bangkok because, when you can book them (100 days before takeoff), those offices open 7 or 8 hours before the London office and the best seats are snapped up.

The domestic airport is only 3-400 yards from terminal 2 and there's a covered, air-conditioned walkway between them. It comes out in departures, which many boardies will tell you is the best place to snag a cheap cab to Pattaya. Have you though of flying Phuket to Utapoe instead? It's only 40 minutes from Pattaya.
