Durex condoms crap here lately.

Ditto (but closer to 100%)

What was the cause? I thought his problem was cancer but the BBC News this morning sort of hinted it was AIDS. I did a Google search and there seem to have been mutterings for quite a while about that. I guess we will never know for sure.

Mick - you have me confused with someone else! May I add that I did not say that ALL Brits on LK Metro are from the lower end of the social spectrum, just that the place seems to attract those who are.

You're a bit slow TTT http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/56509-more-go-gos/page__view__findpost__p__917271

I went to Sugar Sugar 3 or 4 weeks ago. The "show" ended with the girl topless. The thing I did like about the place was the decor - I thought it was the best designed place in Pattaya: it gave it an upmarket feeling. Sadly, that feeling was ruined by a bunch of loud, drunken Aussies sat behind us. But it's definitely on the list of places to revisit next time. On the subject of Champagne, I think all the comments just go to prove what we all know - - that places change not just from week to week but from hour to hour, and - that one man's stunner is another man's dog. I was in Pattaya for 4 weeks recently and visited Champagne more than any other bar. I always managed to get a seat, something that has not always been true on previous trips. There has never been s shortage of good looking girls there on any visit I've ever made that I can recall. The girls will leave you alone but it usually takes only a prolonged look for them to join you. I do agree about the smoke - better air extraction is required. In the past, when the place has been more full, it has sometimes suffered "soccer hooligan" syndrome - probably a problem with being situated in Soi LK Metro. The service staff don't clamp down on it as they would in a WS place. Regarding Soi LK Metro generally, some posts here imply it is a place mainly for the Brits. My recent experience is that there are plenty of Americans, Aussies, Germans, (Oriental) Asians and, no doubt, others there as well. However, I would agree it seems to attract Brits from the lower end of the social spectrum. Apart from Champagne, all the go-gos have a long way to go to reach the average level found in WS.

Are you looking at this web page? http://www.ourstravel.com/new/ If so, it makes no mention of January.

With EVA, I think you have to look for dates after 15 January. For instance, out on 24 Jan, back on 7 Feb, is £590.33 through Southall Travel.

I had scrambled eggs on toast at this same establishment a couple of weeks ago. I had no problem with the toast being unbuttered, nor with the (quite generous portion of) egg; however, I thought the bread was awful - it was sweet!

This thread contains useful information: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/50579-dentist/page__view__findpost__p__818021 A bridge done by Dr Darika about 6 months ago cost 21,000 Baht and the work was excellent - http://www.dentaldepattaya.com/dentalteam.htm

Because I had walked the full length of both Beach Road and Pattaya Nua, and returning via Third Road - even the dogs were steering clear of me.

I walked by this place (on Third Road, just noth of Klang) this afternoon. I was curious about what it was. A quick Google search suggests it is along the lines of Kinnaree, was opened in 2009, and has been open intermittently since. It is ceratinly open at the moment as there was a bunch of girls sat outside. Anyone been there or know anything more about the place, please?

So you think that no improvements should be made; that bad things should be allowed to fester. Explains a lot about the state of TQ2.

How much should you pay a GoGo girl
Bazle replied to PattayaPete's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Maybe - but the ST rate needs fixing. Not "divide the appropriate rate by 66%" but MULTIPLY. -
I’ve never regarded paying for sex as demeaning. It’s a much used cliché on this board that all men pay for sex in one way or another. I’m merely paying for a service someone is selling. What’s demeaning in that? I don’t have a “gripe” about it but for sure a lot of ladies earn such amounts in the bar that to make it worthwhile for them to leave, ST and LT prices have gone up. My morality is my own – not Western, not Asian. I have no religious beliefs - I live according to my morality. It does not and will not change at the airport. We all try to impose our morality on other people; why else do we want the jet ski scam stopped, to have equal prices for Thais and falangs, etc. I take your point about the plight of some (but not all) of the girls, and I made the same point in my OP about how useful some ping pong ball money can be sometimes. As I said in the OP, I am not against ping pong balls as such. What I did not like was the attitude that the Japs had to the girls. If a girl has some drunk trying to fist her, she can walk away. Furthermore, just like “sucking an old fat bloke off”, it will be done in relative privacy. My problem was with the attitude of the Japs, which is very well explained in the post (copied below) by kikc69, and I was sorry that the girls pandered to the Japs.
-
No - the girls chose to hold another's waist.
-
I suspect it is cultural - both in the way they regard women and in how they entertain clients and contacts.
-
I was not a fan of ping pong balls when they started appearing in the gogos. I thought it was demeaning for the girls to fight to get hold of them. My mind was changed when a girl assured me that the girls enjoyed them as a bit of fun and as a very useful source of some income at times when, for example, they are unwell. Last evening I went to upstairs at Baccara and the evening before to Angelwitch. At both places there were small groups of Asians who were almost certainly Japanese. I'm sure we have all seen them buy multi-baskets of ping pong balls and throw fist fulls of 20 Baht notes, but I had never seen it done on the scale I saw the last two evenings. It reminded me of going to Underwater World and seeing the divers go into the water with buckets of food to feed the sharks, turtles etc. The worst point was at Baccara when the girls were almost begging the Japs to give them more notes and the Japs refused unless the girls walked around in a circle like schoolchildren in a playground. Needless to say the girls obliged. I thought the girls were stripped of their dignity, and the Japs looked complete arseholes - no credit to anyone concerned. And what is the effect on us? The amount the girls are able to get without moving from the bar must push up ST and LT prices. And if the girls are treated with such disrespect, it would hardly be surprising if they treat their customers the same way.

I got there at about 9.50pm and it was obvious that I was too early. I decided that naked young ladies were more appealing than Snowman so spent about 30 minutes elsewhere. When I returned, the place had really filled up and I waited only about 15 minutes before JC was on stage. I saw only his first set but agree with you, JC was brilliant again and it was a good night. And credit to Snowman and the rest of the band - they did an excellent job supporting JC. I hope you won't mind me mentioning a couple of points where I think you could make some improvements. 1. I had to indulge in unsafe drinking - you had run out of condoms! 2. There were 3 tables placed adjoining the stage. Some people were sat at the one on the right when I arrived, but the ones in the centre and to the left were pushed right up against the stage and had no seats with them. It looked as though maybe they were meant for the performers. However, shortly after JC started, one of your waitresses brought 3 (high) stools and placed them with the table to the left, and pulled the table away from the stage, so that some Thai people with "VIP" badges could sit there. That meant that the view of a great number of people was obstructed. The guy next to me (bravely) told them they couldn't sit there. They didn't take it too well but did move. That was repeated when some more people tried to sit there about 20 minutes later. I think you need to take these tables away from the stage and give instructions to your service staff to prevent that happening.

Thailand is still cheap relative to the UK and most of Continental Europe. And few places can offer the weather Pattaya usually has. As to the streets being hosed down, I guess you didn't have in mind anywhere in the UK. They don't get it - and generally the rain does the job.

Renovations at the Pattaya Beer Garden

At my local Thai restaurant in the UK, I get some pretty decent Thai wine - I think it is called Monsoon. -

A fellow BM and I headed into FLB last evening for some respite from gogo-ing. I have always enjoyed the Filipino band (Rhythm Tracks) that plays there. Usually they have two female singers but last evening the prettier (IMHO) one was absent - I think she was unwell. There was quite a large birthday party crowd in FLB, and everyone was in a happy mood. The band usually plays middle-of-the-road type stuff and I thought I was going to miss the absence of the singer. However, last evening the main vocalist was a guy, and the remaining female vocalist took a supporting role. They were doing much more modern music than I am used to hearing them do, the sort of music usually I'm not too keen on. However, I have to say it was great last night - the music really was appropriate for and added to the party atmosphere. They had the place rockin'.
