Beside your name at the top right of the screen, you will see a downward arrow. Click on it and you will get a menu which includes PMs. -
Congratulations! All seems to have gone well.

OK then, MLF, perhaps you will answer the question I asked above:

Perhaps queueing is not their strong point! I had problems with them several times at my local 7/11 queue jumping.

Perhaps I'm Russian

So by telling Irish jokes, we are putting the Irish at risk of genocide?

So what is the difference between (a) a regular car, (b ) a taxi, and (c ) a limousine? I do not know. My guess is that a regular car used as a taxi can be referred to as a taxi. If the car happens to be a top-end model, then it can be referred to as a limousine. So a limousine is just an up-market taxi. Any thoughts?

I had to do that for an hotel in Patts a few years ago - could have been Areca. I didn't like it but I thought to myself that anyone who ever sees my card in a restaurant (or similar) has this information, so it is not a new risk.

Perhaps it would be wise to get back to Tony and ask his advice.

How much did they charge you for the room?

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to have to do the same when I arrive next time so would appreciate some indication about exactly where in Tukcom you found the DTAC deal. Thanks.

I have been told that there is now a second police station in Patts - one in addition to the one on Soi 9, Beach Road. (To be honest, I did not even know there was only one previously.) If this information is accurate, is it possible that there are some new senior cops around wanting to make their names?

Not so. It is - Queers And Nancies Treated As Special

"Nice" is so subjective. The Pig & Whistle on Soi 7 certainly has good food, and I like the ambience.

One of the reasons for going to LOS is to avoid food like that.

I have resisted, so far, the temptation of buying a taser from one of the street vendors, but I might not hold out too much longer.

I'm sure they're coming in from Moscow as well. I noted just the places I had not heard of before.

With a few hours to spare at Swampy a few weeks ago, I started looking more closely at the departures board. I realised my knowledge of geography needs to be brought into the modern world as there were a lot of destinations I had never heard of. My guess was that these places were in Russia, but I jotted down their names to check later. * Nordwind flights to Kazan, Novosibirsk and Omsk * Orenair flight to Magnitogorsk (via Lahore) * Transaero flights to Yekaterinburg and Ufa * Utair flights to Yekaterinburg and Dushanbe (ex-USSR rather than Russia) The main point of this pos

Please excuse my ignorance but what exactly is "the Victorian expat community"? (A new term to me.)

Interesting - thanks for posting. I always travel light so the lack of lifts and escalators doesn't worry me. There were two major points in the article from my perspective - one good, one bad:

Could one of you techie types tell me something, please. Are dongles all the same, just the SIM cards different? I have an unused dongle here in the UK. Can I bring it to Pattaya and just buy a SIM card to put in it? Thanks. -
For me, it is not just the cleanliness of the toilets, it is also having proper hand-washing/drying facilities. There should be liquid soap, not bars of soap. Hand drying should be with either efficient (i.e. not pathetic!) warm air blowers, or proper paper towels. By "proper", I mean the sort you find at PBG, not the gossamer-thin stuff you get at Central Festival Mall and other places. Too many places are still providing cloth towels. PBG gets good marks from me, as does The Pig & Whistle.
