  1. about 6 years ago i came to pattaya for the first time. My time in pattaya was always great. I kept planning on retiring to thailand and living the good life but I have been putting it off trying to put away enough money to really live like a king. I could have retired last year but i would have only gotten around $2500 us and I knew that if I kept working for another five years that it would be more like $5000. so I put off my dream. My job sucks and life here the states is miserable compared to being back in pattaya. but I kept thinking that in a few more years I will be there full time.
  2. A friend of mine sent this to me it is pretty funny. BTW don't follow thru on the press the love button it is a link to a site that trys to sign you up and charge your mobile number. http://www.moanmyip.com/
  3. Di, if all farang women had your attitude there would not be any need to go to LOS.
  4. citichic is a long way (1 plus k) down the soi. closer to robinson and the westin than anything else. very nice place.
  5. hey redwood, it doesn't say joiner fee--- it says not guest freindly. Big difference. Moniten in pattaya does not allow anyone other than a registered guest in a room. So if you are staying there and you have your tilac with you when you register then they will let her come and go as she pleases. If she is not on the card then she is not allowed in the hotel. but they don't charge a joiner joe the hotels are like the girls someitmes they are not new, just new to us. LOL warburi was an old hotel 5 years ago.
  6. Don't believe all the negative stuff about NANA. They have some of the best beds in all of thailand that you will find in a hotel less than 4000 baht. (jw marriot, shreaton etc) The nana has latex mattresses and there are backrests built into the headboards if you want to sit in bed and watch TV. After staying at whitehouse hotel in pattaya and winding up with a fucked up back (whitehouse has repleced their mattresses with cheap shit hard as concrete crap mattresses) I went to BKK with Hawk and stayed at NANA for one night. Next day my back was better. BTW some fucking asshole mattress company
  7. hey mulphy, don't get distraught seem like a very generous offer. Many of us do not read the board evry day when we are in patts. Other things on our minds
  8. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT change your money at the airport. every exchange in the new airport that I have seen gives the same rate for small bills, hundreds, and travelor's checks. If you are cashing 100's or travelors checks you will gert a better rate by waiting until you get out of the airport. If you have to have cash before you leave the airport then use the ATMs
  9. A couple attending an art exhibition at the National gallery was staring at a portrait that had them completely confused. The painting depicted three very black and totally naked men sitting on a park bench. Two of the figures had black dicks, but the one in the middle had a pink dickl. The curator of the gallery realized that they were having trouble interpreting the painting and offered his assistance. He went on for nearly half an hour explaining how it depicted the sexual emasculation of African Americans in a predominately white, patriarchal society..."In fact," he po

right next to the mall is a new (1 year old) apartment building. I watched as they were building it and it seemed nice. supposed to be 4000 baht a month. Good location seem ther are always some girls at the mall looking for farangs. About 1000 meters down the street towards the downtown there is on the south side of the street there is the ratchaphruk hotel. They have a disco there and there are a lot of chick looking for farangs. If you are buy the hotel sima thani on hwy2 you are close to a issan nightclub. sima thani is on the north side directly across hwy 2 south side there is sala dang n
  11. I stayed there right after they opened. In fact they were not finished building yet. price then was 1600 baht. Very nice rooms I would consider them better than majestic grande. Last year I stayed a couple of more times. 2200 baht or there abouts. Very good service. they also arranged a car service to pattaya for me. 1200 baht a large sedan I think it was an older mazda 929. but very nice.
  12. for those willing to spend the extra cash there is an option for business class. Phillipine airlines has a very inexpensive business class about 2300 us to manila. from there you can catch a cebu paicfic flight to bkk. For the christmas season when you face $US1700 -2300 for coach paying the $US2300 for business class for the long leg and then another $us100 for the short flight in coach makes sense to me and you can make a side trip to bkk while you are there.
  13. I just purchase delux/elite seating for my next trip to bkk on eva. I flew my last trip on them as well. the delux/elite is not comparable to any airlines business class. but for $200 more roundtrip it is worth the extra room to me. upside the seat is about 4 incehs wider than coach for most airlines. that means for me I am not sitting waist to waist with the passenger next to me. The downside the center armrests between the seats are about 4 inches across and hard plastic and fixed. Even if you have an empty seat next to you it is not going to do you any good. My last trip I had empty seat ne
  14. if i was going to be staying on a monthly basis i think i would rather be here http://www.soleildesiam.com/Index.htm
  15. United air currently has a petition going to add a LAX to Shanghai (PVG). I have posted in other thread about the problems that airlines have adding routes. China has decided to allow another flight to shanghai from the USA. There is several american airlines bidding to put a flight to shanghai but it would be from other cities. United already has several flights to shanghai and it would make a perfect city to use as a connection to bangkok. If United can get this LAX- PVG route and one other then they will try to get a PVG-BKK connection if they think there is sufficient demand. The idea woul
  16. United does direct flight to tpe from the us. If you use your frequent flyer miles to book it you can leave sfo at 13:19 fly to tpe catch a thai flight to bkk and get in at 22:20 that's one and 1/2 hours before the sfo-nrt-bkk flight arrive in bkk. often the flights are full sold out on usa-nrt-bkk. United will not route you thru tpe automatically becuase it does not show as a connection for them so you will have to ask. I booked a business class seat on short notice. And there are still some biz seats for aug and sep.other routes to consider are seoul icn or shanghai. pvg or nagoya ngo.
  17. for god's sake do not use your ff miles to fly to chiang mai. It will cost you 20k miles. you can book a ticket on asia air for 2500 baht. for the same milage you could fly to tpe, sin, or ngo. if you want to keep your miles active sign up for the dining program or grocery program. one meal for $10 and your miles are good for another 18 months. buttt...... if you really want to be rid of them you could transfer them to me and I give you enought money to buy the bkk chaingmai ticket on asia air.
  18. not mine, she like to call herself mia farang and is now close to 60 kilos.
  19. Boeing and airbus have taken 2 different tracks. Much like sears and montgomery wards after WWII. Sears bet on expansion and built stores as fast as the could on borrowed money. Wards palyed it safe trying to expand slowly. The economy boomed and sears was in place to take advantage of it. Today wards no longer exists.' For Boeing and Airbus a similiar dramatic play has been made. Boeing has bet on producing a mid size aircraft that is highly fuel efficient. They will continue developement of Jumbo jets but that is second place to getting the 787 to the factory floor. Airbus bet on a new
  20. remodeling aye??? seems like a bulldozer should be involved.
  21. I have been checking out total solar eclipses for the next 20 years. On 22 july 2009 there will be total solar eclipse that passes thru asia. As best I can tell the track of the eclipse will be thru Jiaxing china which is halfway between Hangzhou and shanghai. It will have a 6 minute duration and will be a 108 % coverage making this the most dramatic eclispe unitl 2027. A must see for your lifetime. If you want to plan a trip to LOS and want a good excuse why you are traveling to asia say you are going to see eclipse in China. It should be an inexpensive side trip from BKK. Path is
