Apartment For Rent A married businessman meets a beautiful girl and agrees to spend the night with her for $500. He spends the night with her but before he leaves, he tells her that he does not have any cash with him, but he will have his secretary write a check and mail it to her, calling the payment "RENT FOR APARTMENT." On the way to the office he regrets what he has done, realizing that the whole event was not worth the price. So he has his secretary send a check for $250 and enclosed the following typed note: Dear Madam : Enclosed you will find a check in the amount of $250 for use of your apartment. I am not sending the amount agreed upon, because when I rented your apartment, I was under the impression that; 1) it had never been occupied; 2) that there was plenty of heat; and 3) that it was small enough to make me feel cozy and at home. However, I found out that it had been previously occupied, that there wasn't any heat, and that it was entirely too large. Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the check for $250 with the following note: Dear Sir, First of all, I cannot understand how you expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely. As for the heat, there is plenty of it, if you know how to turn it on. Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it, please don't blame the landlady. Send the rent in full or we will be forced to contact your present landlady.

stinger, I haven't stayed at sheraton so I was guessing based on the material they show on the website. Thanks for posting the info. I have not seen many posts on it since it just opened a few months ago. But as a comparison I would not consider either the sheraton grande BKK or westing grande BKKor JW Marriott 5 BKK 5 star hotels althought they are certainly solid 4 star hotels. I have stayed at all three and they are certainly better than the mariott in pattaya but the difference doesn't always seem to be worth the money to me. I get the sheraton westin and JW on priceline for about $80 plus fees. I have stayed there for a couple of years so the prices on priceline may have gone up. I don't stay at the better hotels for the girls. I slipped a disc in my back a couple of years ago and having a good bed with good pillows was import to me. I am feeling better now so a nice hotel with under 1500 baht is my normal game plan.

csoday, Areca is 2star maybe 2.5 lk metro 2 star Marriott a solid 3 star. the new shearaton should be a 3 star maybe a 3.5. I have never seen the cliff hotels but they shold be a 3-4 star they have several hotels at the same property. I think the cliff is not gf they may charge a joiner fee. others are gf. there are not any 5 stars in pattaya that I know of. you would have to stay in bangkok at oriental, shang etc fro 5 star.

try the marriot website sometime they have specials. I have been here for $80 US

hey robert, rooms are good, staff is good, i am a member and have stayed there many times. With memeber ship suite is 1900 baht instead of 2500 baht non seaview but you can stiil see it from one balcony so why pay extra. Suites are 2 rooms each has balcony and bathroom with tub/shower. I didn't think the beds were too hard and RG beds are 2 hard for me. suites have bed in one room with tv etc 2nd room is sofa that converts to a bed if you need to has its own tv etc. rooms have a refrigerator. location is good easy to beach road or second road. seaview rooms get 100 baht discount w/membership. (btw membership cost 500 baht for 1 year) think I paid 1300 baht last time. rooms do not have in room safe you will need to use dafe deposit boxes downstairs. pool is okay but nothing special. 8000 baht per day will more than cover everything unless you like to buy everyone drinks. 1400 baht room +500 bhat food + 500 baht bf + 1500 baht drinks (you like to drink 10 black watera a night right?) 1500 baht soapie + 600 baht bbbj at lolitas + 1500 baht lt for girl + 150 baht to log onto internet and post trip report w pictures every day+ 350 baht for thai massage. See 8000 baht and you are well slept, and well sucked, well fed and well fucked, well pissed, relaxed and can share with everyone else. what MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR????

Flying in LATE - any problems?
cowboy replied to Resident Metalhead's topic in Meeting - Cost sharing
That is not late as far as flights go. I have stayed at BKK from 11 until 3:30 am waiting for freind to arrive. Turns out there are like 4 747,s every 15 minutes until something like 3:30 am. between 3:30 and 5 there are only a few flight arriving and then it starts up again. Getting a taxi to pattaya could be a problem though. Many will not want to go at that time becuase they know it will be hard to get a fare back. And it mean they will not get home until 3 or 4 a.m. Other will be willing to go but want 2500 baht or more. You may or may not be able to get someone willing to go for 800 or 900 baht plus toll. It is easy to make arrangements for a car in advance and you should be able to do it for 1200 -1500 baht. As far as a room you can always find a room but do you really want to be going from place to place if flipper and the hotels near it happen to be full. Book a room for the first night if you really want to shop around then after you get there for the first night you will have the time to do it. You will be burn't after the flight. 19 hours and you arrive at 8 a.m in the morning PST. I have flown 837 like 20 times and it is the worst part of the whole trip. It has gotten to the point that right after I get on the plane in SFO I keep thinking "why am I doing this". But of course as soon as I get on the plane going home I start planing my next trip. -
Last time I was in BIZ class on singapore air from HKG-SFO I had a very nice lie flat seat/bed. Much nicer than United. Best thing about United FF miles earn them on united use them on Singapore.

GOOD GOD how can anyone compare the 2"???? Flipper is a dive. It is the only place where I have had a girl say Lets go back to my loom it bigger, better"" If you are on a budget and have to stay under 800 baht well okay flipper's selling point is that it is cheap as low as 600 baht if you pay in advance. But the "new"wing was probably built before the war ---as in wwII.
-
tiger air also has flights. sometimes as low as $28 sing but the taxe and charges can add up check out the final price before making plans. Sometimes Singapore air has a deal but that is pretty rare.
-
United is flying for $752 all taxes included and giving double miles if you sign up for them. Hawk flew china air lat month and said it was good. They gave him an open tciket Bkk-lax and return for $800.

whatever is in it my thai brothers in law would rather drink m150 than Johhny black.

united has a policy of not upgrading unless you bought full fare coach, or are a premier member on a pricy ticket, or they need to becuase there not enough seat left in coach. 2 times last year I was traveling on short notice and wound up paying 12-13 hundred for my ticket. I was upgraded to Biz on the sfo-nrt leg both ways one trip and from nrt to sfo the other. It is hard to catch a free upgrade from NRT to BKK becuase to many japanese are buying biz class seats that biz gets full. I did have one nice upgrade on the nrt to bkk on another trip 2 years ago. someone else took my assigned window seat and refused to move. (they were suppose to middle seat in another row.) The stew came over and asked me to come to the front of the cabin. she called out to the gate and then moved someone from biz to first class and put me in biz, then went back to deal with the guy in my original seat. worked out good for at least 2 of us. Should have seen the guy face in biz. I was with the stew when she asked if he would mind moving. he asked where and she said could you accomadate us by moving to a first class seat?? when it sunk in he looked like he just died and gone to heaven. BTW I have almost 500k lifetime miles with united and it shows in my record. I think this helps in getting upgraded.

The new airport has it own tollway. Works really well you pull a ticket when you get on and then pay when you get off. none of this toll booth stuff every 5 miles. I was driving on it last year and it only cost 40 baht to go from the new airport to chonburi. The tollway ended in chonburi but it was obvious that the intent is to continue it to pattaya. If anyone can walk me thru posting pictures I have a picture of the tollway whilst I was in route.

I was shopping fares again today. Pushing my departure date back into april I found United fares as low as $839. That's not bad but just a month ago there was march fares as low as $635 sfo-bkk. If you check travelocity you will find that united has the fastest trips to bkk from sfo. 19 hours going 16 hr+ coming back. Only eva comes close. That and now that thai is flying direct from lax to bkk it could be 19 hours from sfo. or if I could get to la for something else then something like 14hr plus from LAX to BKK. even at that the united thai sfo lax bkk fare came to only $1100. anyone flown the thai flight direct??
-
SA-teef, you can thank delta and northwest. With talk of a strike hapening at those companies in the next few weeks demand for united flight went ballastic. They still have some cheap fares but for several days that I was checking in march and april they were completely sold out.

Chivas, I'd suggest you look more closely. In the last 4 years in more than 25 trips I alway see customs officers. Many of them do not where uniforms but are in plain clothes. They will walk beside you and they stand around in the arrival area just outside the doors as well as inside the doors. some nights at 11:30 at night I have seen 10 or more of them. They are watching. But they are pretty good guys. I went up to the something to declare counter. after about a minute 2 officers showed up. They asked me what I wanted. I told them I had excess liquor to declare and pay duty on. They asked how much and I said 7 liters. in 10 bottles. They asked what for and I told them it was for a freinds birthday party. They laughed and waived me through.

Now we know why Bush never goes hunting with Cheney. They are a fine pair. Silver spoon boy "w" goes dove hunting and shoots a Hawk. Cheney shoot his Host. I have been a pheasant and duck hunter for more than 20 years. These stupid pricks need to take a hunting safety class.

I stayed there summer of 2004. Registered my girl with the desk and reserved the room for 2 people. They still gave me a hard time. Actually they were downright rude. Great gym and facilities. But if you are a farang with a thai girl the will treat you, and especially the girl, like shit. they don't want your business, so why bother??
-
swiss grottino right behind robinsons. great place but only like 30 rooms so avance reservations is just about mandatory.
-
I would thry to get the JW down the street on priceline for $80 us before I paid the landmark the 4000 baht plus they usually want for a room.

First off, your are misreading the asia rooms information. all rooms are booked for double occupancy. extra guest are subject to a charge. i.e. some hotels charge extra if you have 3 people staying instead of 2. asia rooms puts tht disclaimer becuase some hotels have breakfast included and charge more if you have 3 people. 2nd Flipper is a dive. The have a new wing and and old wing. After you check into the "new"wing you will probably go downstairs thinking the must have made a mistake and put in in the wrong wing. Well actually no the new wing was probably new in 1982 or something. the other wing is older. The rooms are small. you can get a 900 baht room at flipper. the room at residence gardens is 1380 and 3 times bigger besides being newer and in better shape, with better air, better pool etc. etc. I have had thai girls tell me that the room they stay in for 2000 baht a month is nicer than the "delux" room I had at flipper. If you are on a tight budget and cannot afford the extra cash the flipper is okay. no girl is going to walk out on you becuase of the room. But you should consider the crown vic or try to get a deal on the mercure. BTW a booking agent like asia rooms is not the best way to get a hotel like flipper. If you book diectly with flipper you can get rooms for 700 or 800 baht a night. but I would urge you to consider upping your budget to 1200 or 1300 baht a night the extra $10-15 will get you alot more hotel. and take bigD's comments with this in mind. He complains at Mickey D's that they have unreasonably raised the price of a double cheeseburger from 49 cents to 99 cents in the last 40 years. and seaview at flipper??? I don't see how.It sit to far from the beach road. check the map it is almost at 2nd road. lots of building between it and the beach.

nice post pete. but normally i am chasing the titties, not the other way around.
