  1. Restricted, on a airline ticket usually means (as pointed out in an earlier post) that there are restrictions on changes and limited or no refundability with potential service charges for changes. It usually also means the ticket can not be upgraded. Policies vary by airline.
  2. I have bought both Viagra and cialis in pattaya from pharmacies. Both did nothing for me. I have viagra from a US pharmacy and 1 pills keeps me rock hard for 3 straight hours. I have cialis from a US pharmacy and It worked great constant hard on for 2 days plus. It is illeagal for pharmacies to sell levitra, viagra or cialis in thailand. To be obtained leagally you have to get them from a doctor. while it is not probably not true in every case I think the chance of getting fake pills in thailand pharmacies is very high. Since I only pay 160 baht for the pills in the us there is no reason to buy the crap they sell in LOS. Remember more fake viagra is made worldwide than any other drug. And most of the fake are from china and ae very good. Identical boxes wrapping etc.
  3. I recently stayed at siam bayshore. I got the room on latestays.com and paid 2000 baht a night. The palce is in a good location rooms are large with very comfortable beds and pillows. It is a nice property with 2 nice pools and some excellant restuarants. Staff was very nice. Most of the pople there were non p4p tourists. Auzzies, arabs, gemans, Japanese. Maybe 5% of people were punters. I saw guys bring girls in and they did not seem to get hassled. The girls did have to give their ID to the desk but I didn't hear any mention of a joiner fee and I was standing directly behind some one with a BG in tow. It is one of the places where you turn in your key and them pick it up at the desk when you come back. Siam bayshore, and siam bayview are sister hotels owned by the same owners. If you are concerned of a joiner fee I would call them and ask. I have noticed many posts on this board about joiner fees at upsacle hotels that were completely false going by my own experiences. So in general I would not trust any posts unless I knew the person posting. I once had an asshole sitting in FLB tell me that you cannot bring BGs to Hardrock hotel. At the time I was staying there and bringing in a different girl every night with no problem. Easiest thing to do is call and ask.
  4. good one.
  5. hey try, Sorry it is a soi 1 hotel. it is the euro park hotel. Most people think it is condos so they don't get much walk in traffic. phone 02-254-1074 or 02-255-4224 ext 5 they have large rooms with marble floors. When iIhave not been able to get a room anywhere else they have had a room. They are better than nana thai mansion and the cost was 1000 baht a night last year. It is a ways down the soi but still closer to nana than the mansion. Soi 1 is on the opposite side of suk from nana . the actual address is 27 sukomvit soi 1 bangkok 10110. good luck.
  6. Ignore all the fucking idiots that talk about walking up and getting a room. For the One hundredth time THERE IS NO LOW SEASON FOR HOTELS!!!!! Last year in august I was in pattaya and the beer bars were dead. No customers, but the hotels were full. Much too the surprise of the fucking idiots there are a large number of family tourists and chinese and japanese tourists that come to pattaya. Go to www.latestays.com and look at how many hotels have sold out nights. In The month of July the Majestic Grande in BKK has something like 8 or 9 days when they are sold out. they have 251 rooms. If you try to book a 14 night stay there you will be told they are sold out even thought for the 14 night you want there is only 2 night when the are full. Can you walk up and get a room? sure. can you walk up and get a room for 10 days or 14 days? not likely and not at a good price I have seen at least 100 guys walking up to the counter of the dynasty, nana plaza, majestic suites, worburi, bel air princess, westin grande, sheraton grande, sandy springs, lek hotel, residence gardens, mariott, hard rock, etc etc. they ask for a room for 4 days or 5 days only to be told no rooms maybe for one night. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEND YOUR TIME SLUPPING FROM ONE HOTEL TO THE NEXT TO FIND A ROOM? and then moving every 3 to 5 days becuase they don't have rooms? BTW I have had a time in July when a pattaya travel agent could not get me a room in bangkok near nana. There are weekend where ex pats fly down from udon thani or in from indonesia or malaysia for 3 days. weekend in bkk can get pretty full at the hotels. Even when the bars are slow. I wound up at nana thai mansion. which is not horrible but is right next to the klong and the smell outisde can get pretty bad and it is a long way down. The upside is there is plenty of parking if you are driving. worburi is www.woraburi.com (66)2-656-7236 or (66)2-656-7071. on nana soi swiss grottino is www.grottino.com 66 2253-6023 they are down by westin grande in pattaya sandy springs is 3841-4752 www.sandyspringhotel.com If you still can't find a place I also have a place for 1100 baht up on soi 3. It is pretty nice and not that far. I just can't find the biz card tonight but I should have tommorrow.
  7. adnet, I bring my laptop most trips. It is a 14 widescreen. It fits in the room safe. So I always get a room with a safe. I know some people talk about how easy it is to break into safes. But it keeps the simple thiefs from being able to walk of with it. So far no problems. I have heard of people that have had cameras etc walk away but in those cases they didn't have them locked up.
  8. hey floyd, when I was there the wifi was not free. In fact it was outrageously expensive. Something like 300 baht for 1 hour. 1000 baht for 1 day. The wifi didn't work half of the time. It was a real pain. I have stayed in both the queen room and the queen delux. The delux cost more money and I thought it was the same room with a lousey view. The rooms are decent with good beds and well decorated. Bathrroms are small. If you are a soffitel member they won't honor any of the cards. Go figure. Staff was idiots and service was poor on the good days. I talked to the maqnager several times to get problems straighten out. He apologized and claim staff was impossible to train. They have a shuttle that goes to second street. the problem is not the distance. The street is maybe 6 meters wide, there are walls along a long stretch of it, and there are frequently cars going in both directions. Not much room left for pedestrians.
  9. well fargo bank. charges to western union will earn miles.
  10. Try this site. I haven't tried it yet but I intend to try posting some of my pictures and videos soon. They say no restrictions. http://www.hidebehind.com/
  11. glyn, try taking it out of pattaya. Take one of the BG from khorat with you and go up to Khao Yai. Stay overnight 1 or 2 days there and take in khorat. You will have a great time.
  12. one of my backups is gorilla www.mobile.com it is 18 cents a minute to cell phones and 12 cents to land lines. The nice part is you dial a number and it recognizes your phone then bills your visa card. I have it on my cell and I can call from anywhere and not have to worry about having a card on me. The quality is usually pretty good but sometimes the connection is crappy and I have to redial. I just got cingular wireless for their direct dial program. For 3.99 a month you can have international calling. The cost is 26 cents a minute to call thailand cell phone and 24 cents a minute for a land line. so far the line quality has been good.
  13. although the tailors at majectic do not do much of the work it is all done on premises. i have watched as their thai employees cut the material.
  14. Majectic tailor in bkk are very good. They own both the majectic suites and the Majectic grande hotels in bkk. Majectic tailors are in the same building as the majestic hotel on sukumvit next to nana plaza. They have great quality and service. All my clothes are made by them. Father and 3 sons. Personally I like the father the best but the oldest son has very good taste. I used to work in san francisco witha bunch of gays that always dressed to the nines. After coming back home with new suites on fromt the shop the gays would alwasy give me a razz "when did you get good taste?? that sort of thing.
  15. I stayed at nana last year and the room had new carpeting was very clean and nice. I find it odd that people call nana a shithole. The flipper hotel in pattaya has smaller rooms with worse air con with peeling paint and worn carpet and people are recommending it all the time. The nana is way better than the flipper. GREAT BREAKFAST I haven't seen anyone mention it but the nana has a great buffet breakfast. And it is included in the room price. And the coffee/or tea is reasonably decent. The majestic suites is clearly a better hotel but you pay 100-300 baht more, and it doesn't include anything near what nana has for breakfast. And the majectic has only a few rooms (maybe 40-50) everyone should stay at nana at least once. If nothing else to see the elevator bandits.

  17. I have stayed at the sofitel several times. The quality of the rooms and the services is very comparable to both the westin grande , and the sheraton grande(i have stayed at both those hotels as well). The sofetil has better exercise room and a nice pool than either the others. The sofitel also includes an outstanding buffet breakfast. With eggs cooked to order, fresh salmon and crab, english biscuits etc etc. When I stayed at the westin and the sheraton it was on priceline and I paid 3500 baht and it didn't inlcude breakfast. I got the sofitel from a travel agent and paid around 2600 baht inlcuding the breakfast. As far as Girl friendly. It is my understanding that they are not. My first time there they did not say anything to me when I brought a girl in. the 2nd and 3rd times I was at Sofitel I had a girl with me who I checked in with me. In both those cases there wasn't a problem. But I have heard of others saying the security stopped them and told them "no unregistered guests." The last time I was there was 2004 so it has been awhile.
  18. numer one low season is no guarantee. the biggest problem I had last year. I went without advance bookings for trips in april, june, july, august, november. In every single case I had problems. You find a place but they only have 2 nights available. In 5 different times I had to check out and mo ve to a differnt hotel becuase nothing opened up at the hotel I was in. You may find that dynasty has open room but only for 2 nights. you check in and then check every day for cancelations. on day 3 you check out and find new hotel. In july I had to contact something like 15 hotels to find a room. They idea of a low season is a joke. I have seen times when the bars were almost empty but the hotels were all full. Over the last couple of years that seem to be happening alot.
  19. i have stayed at the lodge. they gave a pay for 3 stay 4 deal 700 baht. the room do not look good unless you have had at least 2 liters of scotch.
  20. Crown skinless skins. ONCE you try them you will realize that everything else is 3rd best or worse. Everything durex sold in LOS is like painting your dick with and inch of liquid latex (reminds me I still have to have a party where we paint 2 girls head to toe in blue liquid latex.)
  21. I have never had anyone that I know that had to pay extra for girls at hard rock. It is expensive and the rooms are kinda cheesy. But they have a great pool easily the best in pattaya. It is huge... there is a swim up bar and half of the pool has a sand bottom. The property is large as well it runs all the way beteen 2nd road and beach road. They have tennis courts and they have a decent gym and good parking if you are driving. Cheapest I have ever stayed there was $65 us. When I did I had a girls from flb coming and going. Never a word to any of them. I had one girl that came up to my room by herself came up to the gym to meet me before dinner. She was walking all over the property with no problem. The one thing. If you are walking into the property from beach road you are walking directly into the pool area. I have had times when I was staying there when they asked for proof that I was a guest. aka room key or wrist band I think it was to keep people from using the pool without paying. I am not sure but I think you can pay a caherge and use the pool even if you are not staying there.
  22. If you are looking for a room this website shows availability over the next 14 days. It can be pretty handy when trying to track down a room on short notiuce. http://www.latestays.com/
  23. I have used directrooms several times. In one case I used them for one room and precision reservation for the other when booking in Singapore. directroom was cheaper. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON to use directrooms.com On one trip I had to cancel my trip and reschedule to a later date. I sent directrooms.com an email asking if I could cancel. They allowed me to cancel and gave me full credit toward another hotel at a later date. When I had the same thing happen with another online booker they said tough luck no refunds no credits. To the best of my knowledge directrooms is the only discount advance booker that will give you a credit if you have to cancel as long as you give them advance notice. The one problem with directroom is that it sometime takes some time to get an answer. If you are trying to book a room on short notice then you can be stuck. But even then direct rooms is helpful. On my last trip I tried to book a room on directrooms.com after not being able to find a room in Bangkok after trying more than 30 different hotels. (Nana, majestic, dynasty, etc etc were all full. I sent directroom that I would accept any room under 2500 baht anywhere in the nana area. they sent me an email back saying they had no rooms but to call the Bel-Aire Princess Hotel on soi 5 and tell them directrooms had referred me as a client. I had already called the princess earlier and been told that they were full. But I called anyway and told them directroom had referred me. They put me on hold and then told me they had a room for 2400 baht. When I got to Bangkok at 12:30 in the morning I got to the hotel. They upgraded me to a suite. Very nice room. They have completely remodeled in the last couple of years. And they have a great buffet. So I am a very happy directrooms customer.
  24. A magician worked on a cruise ship. The audience was different each week so the magician did the same tricks over and over again. There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick. Once he understood, he started shouting in the middle of the show, "Look, it's not the same hat!" or, "Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table!" or "Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?" The magician was furious but couldn't do anything. It was, after all, the captain's parrot. Then one stormy night on the Pacific, the ship unfortunately sank, drowning almost all who were on board. The magician luckily found himself on a piece of wood floating in the middle of the sea, as fate w ould have it .. with the parrot. They stared at each other with hatred, but did not utter a word. This went on for a day... and then 2 days ... and then 3 days ... Finally on the 4th day, the parrot could not hold back any longer and said ...... "OK, I give up. Where's the fucking ship?"
  25. The Man and the Raffle While Bubba and Billy Bob were in the local Wal-Mart, they decided to get in on the weekly charity raffle. They bought five tickets each at a dollar a pop. The following week, when the raffle was drawn, each had won a prize. Billy Bob won 1st place- a year's supply of gourmet spaghetti sauce and extra long spaghetti. Bubba won 6th prize- a toilet brush. About a week or so had passed when the men met back at Wal-Mart. Bubba asked Billy Bob how he liked his prize, to which Billy Bob replied, "Great!, I love spaghetti!" Billy Bob asked Bubba, "How 'bout you, how's the toilet brush? "Not so good," replied Bubba, "I reckon I'm gonna' switch back to paper."
