I've givin that a thought but questionable securty if noone living there and the heat and humity and the bugs would limit what could be stored in a vacant room now if you were sponsering a bg!!!!!! what i had hoped to find was a locker, like big enough for a sea bag so i could leave beach clothes, flip flops and toiletries, but doubt if anyone will open mimi storge anytime soon. cheers rb

1,200 baht for taxi from bangkok to pattaya?
rb replied to toom's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
unless things have changed drasticlly the 7 or 8 times i took the van from Dynesty Inn BKK to Dynesity Inn Pattaya there were never any stops, not even piss/smoke breaks. never took more than 2hrs to get to Soi 13. Don't know if they would stop at the Dynesty Resort first if there were any passangers for there because never had any when i went. since Dynesty raised rates from 990bt to 1200b and the noise on Soi 13 I haven't stayed at Dynesty so maybe diffrent now?? always liked there service in the past, hope it hasn't changed cheers rb -
any discount for "round trip" BKK to Pattaya and then back to airport. or is it 1200bt also from pattaya to airport?

as the superbowl will be airing about 5am live in thailand you can go to any bar that is open and not get any complaints when you ask them to put it on the "telly". you may want to head to "cherry bar" on soi 8 or any of the other bars that are 24hrs. then again having refreshments and some food in your room will allow you to watch the game whilst your tg, dejour sleeps. it will be replayed seveal times during the following days, if you happen to fall asleep or your tg happens to wake up!!!!!

just wondering what the most used method of getting to pattaya is by the board members. I usta just go to taxi stand and grab a taxi, but very few know anything about getting around pattaya so as of late I've been using Merridan Suba Dive web site to book pick-up, worked well so far although more expensive then just grabbing a cab i am editing to ask if people ever book "round trip" right from the begining or wait to book a taxi back till it's time to go?

must not have asked the right question. "do you know of any hotels that will allow you to make reservations and have late check-in without having to give credit card info prior to arrival?" and no I don't want to wire/fax payment eighter
-
my flight from US always get in at midnight and it's after 2am before i get to hotel. most hotels want cc for late check-in, hell some want payment for entire reservation!! i don't give cc info over the phone/internet if I don't have to. so far the only hotel i've found that will give me reservation without cc is Welcome Plaza. has anyone else been able to get res/late check-in without cc info?? if so please let me know as I plan on making reservations in the next couple weeks for my 16feb06-6mar06 trip. cheers rb

if you go to the north end of the beach(soi2-about soi6) where all the germans hang-out, you can find several old fat german women topless sunbathing, ocnce in a while there will be one worth looking at. if you rent a chair, no one is going to care what you do. i agree, like most places that actually allow topless, it is still best to cover up if your leaveing your sunbathing area to go to bathroom ect. not that i care,

intown, ok, low end, nice pool on the roof. apex a complete shithole IMHO, except for maybe the buffet. would recommed intown for good budget hotel. wouldn't let my pet cockroaches stay at apex. cheers rb

I booked same same 16feb-6mar, msp-nrt-bkk return, $780 usd +tax= $843usd minus the $100usd off cupon i bought on ebay for $14usd= $757usd my point was that this promo does not include BKK not trying to be picky or pricky, as i am "minnesota nice", just didn't want people thinking they can get to bkk, great if they want sin, mnl, bejing, ect. great happy new year rb
-
as I read thru the terms and regulations, I did not see where any of the "destinations included BKK from any of the gateway cities or zone A or B. normally when this promotion comes out it inludes BKK but doesn't seem to this time. haven't actully pluged in any dates to see if it will take. have you been able to book BKK? rb

i'm still waiting to hear if the direct flight from bkk to clark is ever going to "take flight" rb

I'm in town feb16th-6mar as I have no intentions of bringing my clubs, i assume that when i hire a caddie she can rent me a cupple of clubs. i'ld be more up for a one day event like the texas srambble, as i'm having exstencive dental work done. maybe even the catz first day. will watch and see what dates fill up cheers rb -
pretty much depends on what kind of guest you are all hotels on soi7-8 are "guest friendly" as are most hotels in pattaya with the exception of a few of the "5star" hotels. some of the hotel will have an additional charge for more than one guest in the evenings. not approriate to go into details of what where when and why in the open forum section. give us a holler in the members section. cheers rb

of course subjective but under 1kbt per night I think flipper standard room soi7 is a great value, eastisy isn't bad eighter, soi 8 Sunshine on soi8 is good value for size of room at 1200bt, but i don't normally pay over 1kbt so it's flipper for me cheers rb

of course the most important thing is to get your passport. after that everythings easy the biggest fears normanlly 1) how will i get around 2) what will i eat 3) money 1hr with search button will adress 1-3 extensivly get on a plane, take as much time as you can afforrd you may pay a little to much for a taxi or stay a $50 USD a night hotel but all in all you'll be time, money and "guide" way ahead of being stuck with a tour. every hotel in bangkok has a "tours" desk where you can take 1/2 day and full day tours to see all the "temples" and markets for a lifetime for $20-30 USD
