-
i'm assumming your two guys"looking for a good time sailor" as such don't make a bunch of plans do relax TIT- uptou
-
ya, thanks i fly out of msp so anything but NW means an extra connection and 5hrs additional but if NW's prices don't drop a little I'll be making an additional connection!
-
one huge problem for the next 90 days with NW is they leased the A330 airbus instead of the 747-400s in tokoyo so the number of seats are almost cut in half i have always taken 19-20 from msp-nrt and 27(1)-28(2) from nrt-bkk no problem getting 19-20 as it's still 747 but the 27-28 is A330 so they are over booked and put you on UA or Thai so the price skyrockets hopefully they will go back to 747-400 after this lease is up it helps to logde complaits my ex is vp assitant to ops-asia for NW and said the complaints have been many because there is vertualy no awards flights avaliable in asia anymore because of the reduced seats. the fatass carhops are especially pissed because of reduce numbers per flight. i think it takes about 11 to crew a 747 and an A330 is about 5-6 oh go philly!!! $967.50 is the best i've seen on 19-27-28-20 so far i'm still holding out
-
so what type deal did you get? price itinerary restrictions date miles upgrades .........
-
stayed at the lek in OCT 04 in the old part for 750bt per night. quite nice would recommed see trip report. new part mini suites 1200-1400 i think don't know didn't look at one breakfeast buffer 95bt, nothing special excep fresh brewed coffee which makes it worth it for me dinner buffet nothing special. only nice thing about buffets is if you have thai girl they have both shitty food and thai food, good way to try some differnt thai foods without having to figure out the menue cheers rb
-
what airport you going out from, hethrow?
-
thanks sommy i'm not a fan of the apex eighter although i have had there breakfeast buffet and it's ok i preffer the Lec's buffet. do you have an actual address or phone number for the Midtown Inn/hotel (motel?) i assume they don't have a web site like mike said the baybrease is ok all except the elevator is real old and slow
-
now if SARS would just make a come back and a few more problems with the airlines, maybe the airline ticket prices would come down!!
-
so what airline are you flying and how did they route you? total time of trip? seating? cancelation rules and frequent flyer miles? just courious. i go 4 times a year, 1 week at a time (11 days) so how many connections and total time of flight a concideration for me! cheers rb
-
thanks, i seen that and it's 19-27; 28-20 which makes it nice, looked at the seat availablity and it;s wide open, even 27-28 which is now an A330 instead of 747-400, should book right now and be happy but i'll probably wait till after thanksgiving and see if they get back to the $700-850 range cheers

i made reservations at DI-bkk for my 1st night and 2 nights at DI-soi13 for 15-17oct. was asked for CC because of late arrival 2300hrs. told them i would fax them the info but did't. got there friday night and they did not hold my res., although they did call and get me a room down the street at the nana city inn, but it was a dump. i did get the van ride dowm to pattaya that morning to DI-soi13. if your checking in before 1800hrs you sould be alright without CCdepsit. any way who cares, you'll be in LOS "up to you" have a great time rb

a cash advance is a loan which you are carged a fee for withdrawl and the some insane interst rate from the time you take out the cash advance till the time toy pay off you credit card debit off completly!! tes there is a transaction fee at most ATM's in the US but not at all outside the US. some do some don't and some just give you a lower exchange rate but it is my understanding in thailand that as long as your at one of the thai national baks there is no withdrawl chage unless it is stated when you make the withdrawl and you are getting the best exchange rate of the past 24hr period. as far as the origianl thread there are two factors for every atm withdraw 1) the maximum amount allow by the machine and number of times per day and 2) the maximum amount alowed per day by your account which you can adjust as needed by having the bank raise or lower your limit. when i'm vacationing i go in and have it adjusted to $500usd when i'm at home i have it lowered to $100usd per day in case i lose it .

so how much is the lax-tpi ticket? and how long a lay over in tpi?

got back recently and started to look for airfares for my next trip. was surprised not to find anything for jan, feb, mar for less than $1kusd from minneapolis, mn usa to bkk. normally can find a fare at this time of year for winter fares in the 700-900 range, been looking and everything is $1400usd range. Northwest is the only 1 stop option out of msp-nrt-bkk, but now that they are using A330 from bkk-nrt instead of 747 almost half the seats and increaced demand = increaded prices. everything else is 2 stops. just wondering if anyone else is having problems finding airfares for '05

i stayed at the dynesty and it sucked, there moving scaffleing and droping forms from 2-3 floors with loud bangs and hammers. done know how much longer though, but doubt if they will be done by november. should be as bad if you hve a room on the north side but hanna and the one accross the street are both doing remodles and construction. i moved over to Lek, been ok there but i'm on the north side
-
stayed at dynesty inn 17-18 OCT, moved because of niose all day just to annoying
-
i;m same same as zeus and will again stay the two nights on soi13 and then probably move to AA Residance just down the road couple spots i get into bkk at 2355 15 OCT will jump a metered taxi down to soi4 and then hit NEP till closeing, head over to Nana resturant have a bit, check out the "parking lot" maybe grab a gal or head down skuvit and hit some of the sidewalk stops down soi 11-16 and further down. head out to pattaya saturday morning 16 OCT at 11:00 and get ready for strickers birthday party. you do not have to stay a the Dynasty Inn in Bangkok to use the van transportation service. you can just go in and pay for minimum two nights stay at the Dynasty in pattaya, eighter the resort or Inn and the van ride is free. normally I stay at the Federal Hotel on soi 11 a couple nights then head down to pty.
-
thanks haven't tryed it yet but will have enough after this trip for free flight
-
anyone just walked out and got a metered taxi to pty from bkk airport? i get in at 2330 and thought maybe i'ld just head up and get a metered taxi, will the "captian" be able get me to a taxi that "knows" pty or do i have to take the next one in line, just wondering is anyone has ever done it this way? seems to me it would be faster. rb

need a little more info, flight number, time , terminal, baggage hotel..... i leave on the 14th but don't arrive till the 15th at 2330 at terminal 1 on NW#27 from NRT, i'll not have any checked baggage and i've not booked a room as of yet but soi13 or soi7/8 will likely be the location.
