wow tough call. do you play music the ggg's prefer to dance to as that's the main reason guys are going to a gogo or do you play music the punters prefer, assuming you can catergourize them into one music goup. the obvious answer is to find the balance of popular and danceable songs, thats what your paying a DJ for. i personally like the music of hard core rock-n-roll, the closest being what the TQ's and Champions plays, but the ggg's cann't dance to and are bored as shit, ok for expats who are coming in for a few drinks and an occational short-time, but not for the broad based sepectrum that a large gogo caterers to. my vote is get a decent DJ that will keep the ggg's doing more than the chrome pole two-step thanks for asking chers rb

Tim Royal Residence/Boutique Hotel
rb replied to stjames1892's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
i stopprd at tims to check on rooms and they said only had rooms at the HOTEL went over for a look, in a back ally, no seniory or parking nothing other then some flower pedels in a tub, nothing to justify the exorbiant prices they were asking, when he told me 10800bt a night for the suite, i laught at him and left. the cheap rooms were 4900 or something like that, hanging out in my room isn't what i come to LOS for, but up to U chers rb -
Warning/ and or information desired
rb replied to farangkwaiyai's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
i myself was curious as to how they were able to preserve/capture/kill the insectes and keep them in "good" form, not being smashed/crushed. using an insectaside seems like a good way to kill them without skwaushing them!!! purely just speculation on my part. cheers rb -

thanks for the replys when i first started on the board Sandy Springs was the "go to" place with veteran board members, it has since been replaced by the Areca, which I've looked at and had friends staying at but never have myself. think i'll probley stick to the flipper. chers rb

Love soi 13 stayed at AA Residence Lek and Dynesty thinking of trying Sandy Springs 1-11 july what should be a good walk-in price and is the "deluxe" rooms worth the extra baht? any recommedations on room#s or floors to stay on or avoid? has the "noise" issue subsided? tanks and close air support rb

U S Personal Electric Plug-in will they work?
rb replied to gator's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
a search will answer all questions bottom line look to see if it says 110/220 on the appliance, cord. most laptops have a selecter switch and cells have powercord that adapt. as for types of plug ins, just depends where you stay, you may or maynot need an adpter for your plug which are ussally available at the desk if need or can be bought most stores. cheers rb -
yea the effect is MORE for us what CG brings to the table barely rivials a bus load or two of asian tourist that roll in on the hour. BigD is a big spender in comparition to these lads. no worries rb

the new wing, especially if you get on the upper floors allow you to look out from your balcony and see the bay if your above about 7th floor. the "main" old wing is dramaticly diffrent from the new wing. recommed new wing. would go with flipper before main, cheers rb

Flipper House vs. Flipper Lodge
rb replied to Tengotodo's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I like staying at the one on soi 7 (lodge) cheaper. have inroom safe, but only shower, not tub/shower. been booked up my last couple trips, although if your going this summer (if i rember your going about same time as me early july) shouildn't be a problem flipper usally runs a stay for twelve days , pay for ten or stay 8 pay for 7, or what ever you can negotioate I guess. personally never had any problems with bfing in around hotel area. stayed at eastiy inn across from cherry bar and didn't have any problems. at most maybe cost me an extra lady drink or two when i'ld stop in and that was always my choice. anyway if your usta the Areca, you might be happier in the "house" on soi 8 which is a little nicer and more expencive. cheers rb -
same same lost all intrest in shit i usta do casino's bars gogos huntin fishin prettty much just work and get ready for my next trip nothing else seems much fun anymore. 4 trips a year 3 to LOS 1 to PI usta spent 2-3kUSD per trip on cruises, south pasific, hawii europe and south america i get 4 weeks a year cheers rb
-
want to try low season in LOS. problem is it's high season for US airlines. NW MSP-NRT-BKK r/t presently quoting over $1800usd for economy hoping for something much less if anybody sees any "specials" for this time period, please let me know. cheers rb

Sandy spring or Dynasty inn and Areca lodge
rb replied to robert1961's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
"better" is subjective Areaca has become the Sandy Springs of the board, I find nothing great or exceptional about Areca, although a very nice hotel if your ok with a little out of the way and 1200-1400bt per night w/breakfeast. My personal preferance is Soi 13, great location IMHO for how i operate in pattaya. Dynesty in nice and new but they've raised there price to 1200bt per night from 990 and also provide a free ride from dynesty inn in BKK if your in bangers. The noise across the Soi is still very much an issue for late/light sleepers (construction of new building next to AA Residence), although I belive the construction on the White House Conds next door to the Dynestiy is about done. Sandy Springs, usta be the "boarde's" choice a few years back and spesificily certain rooms on certain floors which face beach road/water. they have good pool and frienly staff as do the other two hotels (Dynesty has a pool the size of a hottub). Of the 3 I would recommend Sandy Springs right now although I've never stayed there. My first choice would be AA Residence at 700bt per night except right now the noise is very much an issue. second would be the Lek old wing at 800 bt per night. but I'm a cheap charlie if I was going to spend 1200bt a night for a room it would probabley be the Sunshine on Soi 8, but I'm not. cheers rb -
same same in last couple dozen trips I have booked for a couple nights and then looked around and negotiated prices after I see room. did this again last week and got nothing but fully booked come back tommoro. ended up swiching hotels 3 times in a week. it is low season but demands for rooms is high, because of eastern europe's, janpaness and china familys is my quess i recommand booking before. cheers rb
