  1. another 10mins and Urugray could have taken it to extra time. Why do teams not kill off opponents when they obviously have the talent to do so. A goal lead is definitely not enough and a 2 goal lead is the worse lead to have.
  2. Thats the main reason for the post , not all people who served have the same principles as the politicians. But for everyone to achieve their goal ; they have to work together and be united. I fully understand the american soilder's patrotism and follow orders ; as they should in the military. But once the uniform is off , these soilders have their own minds.
  3. I served 18 months as a combat medic in the fields following the troops into excercises and building BCS and field hospitals. However I have to come clean that I have never seen real action.
  4. I dont think things have changed. I think Pete has mentioned even before this thread that the girls are there usually around the 9pm timings. Unfortunately that's also the 'start agogo crawl' timings for many guys. I readjust my tight schedule on my next trip to have a look-see but then thats what I said the last few times!
  5. These poor boys are still searching for the reasons in their lives. Some are mislead ; some see beyond the soilder's fighting life. It the politicians that treat them like pawns in their game.
  6. Cmon , this is a good thread on buffets ; dont let it wind up in the B&A. Papillon's talking about the ninja moo ka taa? I've been to the one on 3rd road but I hear they have two other branches. Excellent . under 150B with seafood like crawfish , prawns etc Apex and Lek's buffet are not the best in the world but its cheap and has a wide variety. Central Festival has very good offers on their food floors ; 4th and 5th? That conveyor belt place has good self cook individual steamboats. They buffet spread is also not bad with some sushi. Down side is you only have 1hr or so at you
  7. So Federation Internationale de Football Association should be renamed Federation Internationale de Soccer Association? Ok FISA it shall be.......... Edited to highlight FIFA and FISA so it looks as convincing as Seatown's
  8. One MAJOR change I would like to see but will never happen. The 4-yearly world cup be replaced by a 3+ year long league where international team play home and away. 4/5 leagues with promotions and relegations like domestic leagues. This way true champions will be crowned and not a lot can get away from cheating/unfair play over the long period. But FIFA wants a month long party to maximise the showcase and off course their coffers. For the game itself , 4 linesmen with the ref making the major call would be better. Currently its not easy for 3(4) men to oversee 11+the bench full of
  9. As of songkran , they didnt have the coaster system anymore ; at least thats what the waitress told me. I've been there a few times and have never seen it so full ; especially that smaller bar counter just before the enterence/exit. But then I've always been there around the 6pm timings. How's the situation around 3-4pm?
  10. Interesting. A little on the high side but would be a different nite out. What time do you get back to the pier? Any pictures?
  11. i find hot tea/water helps with curry. I assume its the heat , not the water that breaks down some of the chilli.
  12. Tesco UK or Tesco Thailand?
  13. Thanks ; anyone ever tried these million unit chillis? 555555 that was funny. I wonder if hot milk or water would help
  14. This is what the thais generally eat ; Bird's eye chili. The bird's eye chili is small but packs quite a lot of heat. At one time it was even listed as the hottest chili in the Guinness Book of World Records but other hotter varieties of chili have since been identified. It measures around 50,000-100,000 Scoville units which is at the lower end of the range for the hotter habanero chili. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilli_padi OK , question answered. Now I just HAVE to try this Ghost Chilli! Does Ninja mookata have them?
  15. The host mentions the Ghost Chilli but doesnt mention its from India. Does cooking a chilli affect how hot it gets? If so , then the raw pounded chilli juice the Thai pour into their som tam must be close to the hottest eaten. It has more than 1,000,000 Scoville units, the scientific measurement of a chilli's spiciness. Tabasco sauce ranges from 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville units, while jalapeno peppers measure anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...-terrorism.html Ghost Chilli http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhut_Jolokia_pepper
  16. I just now watching Man VS Food and as usual , the americian host boast they have the best , biggest etc. BTW Texan resturants may have the biggest food in the world! Anyway , he goes off saying Mexican chilli is the hottest and its difficult to believe ; especially when I've had thai food! I've never tried the mexican chilli he mentioned so am in no position to compare. Anyone tried both? Whats the verdict?
  17. I assume you mean the hotel and its cafe. they're ok but this is pattaya. Many places do much better than ok. They try with their foam parties and buffets but too expensive for FL ; thus no punters and fun. More of a family sort of place.
  18. Yeah , i rather pay for a Lady Drink or ST and ask her to help. Sometimes BarGal-ish is better than Thai Uni English!
  19. Thai business sense is that they'll charge you more to make up for the loss. Dont ask me why ; its just done that way. Maybe eventually so much of the tourist business will fail that they change their ways.
  20. as a long time resident of pattaya , you should never trust a thai girl to wake up before noon!
  21. You learn something new everyday! Thanks for the info ; I D/Ling it now. http://thepiratebay.org/search/Bangkok%20Dangerous
  22. only good thing about the movie was the G club! Some indian resturants serve a sweet/sour drink to go along with their curries , normally lime juice. Personally I prefer just plain hot water.
  23. Never stayed there but have walked passed the lobby a few times. Seems like the walk of shame from the counter to the lifts are pretty long.
  24. SOLUTION : I read the first few and thought it was entertaining but after that it sounded so boring ; like a broken record.
