I just had the Apex breakfast and have to give credit when credit is due. The foods about the same at 110B but the coffee has improved a million times! Much thicker ; not like that the coffee smelling water during Loy Krathong and the last few years.

Walk along Soi Baukow (LK Metro area); there are boards outside some funny looking shop with a big 200 and thai words on it. I asked the girls and they said it was 'hotel'

The row of bars at Soi Leng Kee should have a few rooms around the 400B range.

you cant have it all buddy , even if its pattaya! Money talks. You can get a room at 400B but wifi is unlikely. If you must , catch a coffee at one of the shopping centres. Most have wifi for free.

if you cut out all the luxuries ; only fan , far from town , dump of a place etc , I am sure you can still find under 250B rooms. But these could be filthy motels doubling as ST rooms! Ice Inn's fan rooms start at 300B There are many hotels listed on the internet but there must be 10 times more that does not have websites.

A cab from Suvaranabhumi cost about 2kB and takes 2hrs. I wouldnt mind anything around that coz of 1ht+ time saved

I can dream , cant I? I flew into U Taopao once on Jetstar from Singapore. I was in Happy having my booze within 5hrs of leaving my doorsteps!

Its been on the cards for years ; accelrated by the Yellows taking over the airport. Too close to Suvarnnabhumi Airport to be anything more than a supporting airport like DOn Maung. but i for one will use it if there are flights into it. Cuts you 2hr transit to 45mins

Its on the top floor of the 'new' Baiyoke Hotel. Locals call it Baiyoke 2. Only thing that has going for it is the view and how much of a view can Bangkok city give? Overpriced buffet and low qualitity food. But if it pleases the woman .......... I prefer the hotel resturrants near the river ; around Chinatown area. Better view. The river crusie/dinner may also do the trick. There's also a revolving resturant at Grand China Princess. Not buffet ; ala carte menu.

Book 1 or 2 nites and go walking in the morning. I am sure there are nicer hotels lower down Soi Nana but are not on the internet.

Good addition to pattaya party scene! It would be great to know what exactly 12000B will buy us and for how many people. Maybe a list followed by 'everything else is chargable' so people can work out their costings. FYI , a group of us 7-10 will be there for songkran and staying a few days after. Would be great to go on a trip as one of them is celebrating their b-day as well.

I have booked a songkran season 1200hr seat on Bell but my flight is scheduled to arrive 1000hr. I'll double time my fat ass to the bus level and skip my traditional arrivial kow-ka-moo at the canteen for the sake of this forum and try to catch the 10am! However be warned that the food (actually more the timing!) will most probably make me miss the 10am bus

money talks . you still can do it if their buses are not full.

you may want to try Apex Hotel. Not a great hotel but it would suit her needs. They have a ramp up to the hotel lobby , a lift/escalator , its on the main road so less walking......................

U-Tapao. Transport system is crap but they do prepare mini buses when there are flights coming in. Dont miss the one option presented to you at the lobby! Expensive but still cheaper than a cab from Suvarnabhumi ; around 400 one way to pattaya if memory serves me right

i dont get it , why pay 30days when you stay 23days. Why cant the hotel charge pro rated and maybe add 10% to the room rates for periods less than a month. 23days is not exactly a month but still much better than a weekly stay. I may be in Pattaya for the world cup but will not stay the full 30days (most prob 21-28days) so I'll most probably be in a similar situation

why does it have to be this or that? Stay and leave when you feel like it. Hittiing Walking st and Soi 6 everyday is not enjoying thailand. Make a trip to the sticks or just laze around Soi Baukou to people watch. You learn a lot more about thailand and pick up simple thai faster than you think.

you're easiler to lure out than a Soi 6 girl! Seriuosly , I'll buy you a drink but i know you wont be caught dead at Pattaya during Songkran. But I'll be there till 24th so if you want to match the face with the post .......... Live life , its too short.

Diana Inn is a great hotel from friendly staff to good food to resonable price. Only problem is .......... no lift!

Lek is owned by the same boss as Apex? If so , Apex has pumped in some money to improve their 'shithole' so maybe Lek will improve soon.
