  1. One of my favorite seafood restaurants despite some obnoxious ladyboy waitresses.
  2. VT6 is a much newer building, but you can get lower rates for the units facing north since the view is obstructed by the Hilton. It's certainly convienient just to go next door for dinner and shopping, not to mention all the freelancers available on Beach Road. About a 15 minute hike to Walking Street, even less to Soi Lk Metro.
  3. I've heard complaints about fairproperties.com. What was your experience? Your security deposit was returned?
  4. The food sucked too, I would never stay there again. Worst dump in town, try The Vault instead.
  5. It's the roaches that are preventing the building from collapsing.
  6. I lived in VT 6 for 2 years, on the top floor. When I moved in the building had less then 10% occupancy, I usually had the pool to myself. My unit was beautifully furnished with soft leather sofa and chairs, had a 50 inch flat screen with a second TV on the balcony, and a sophisticated multicolored lighting system. The furnishings were all brand new. Short term rentals filled up the building and ruined the ambiance, IMHO. You really don't want transients around where you live. My landlord raised the rent to 30,000, quite a lot for a studio with a long-term lease, and I was ready for
  7. Back on Topic, and this is no joke. I was in Baccara (Soi Cowboy) one evening and someone actually came in wearing a Gorilla costume. And the doorman let him in. I thought it might be a brilliant Indian guy that had come up with an ingenious scheme to gain entry to the bar.
  8. I've stayed at the Royal Suite, in one of the "Versace Suites". These are the same size as their regular suites, 80 square meters, but with better furnishings. The suite contained a full kitchen, with separate living and bedrooms. Living room had 29" flat screen tv and dvd, bedroom had an old CRT-type tv. Bathroom had jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. The jacuzzi was far too small for two people. I made the mistake of using two vials of bath foam and was buried in soap suds soon after turning on the jets. They offered 24-hour room service. Breakfast was served between 7 and 11 AM,
  9. And a few more And Princess for the Webmaster
  10. I went back to the Auto Show today after deciding to invest in an external flash. Many of the pictures I took last week had shadows on the face and around the eyes. I also enjoy taking photos of some of my bar fines, and the girls that layer on makeup trying to look lily white will often look like ghosts. Some softer lighting should help greatly. I tried both the diffuser and integrated bounce card but four AA batteries completely drained in less than 2 hours and I was back to using the built-in.
  11. Cars cost more than houses in Thailand.
  12. Until April 7th at Impact Arena. All the major players represented... Rolls-Royce Bentley Lamborghini Mercedes-Benz Lotus Porsche, I owned a 944 when I first moved to California. Damn thing broke down all the time and cost a fortune to fix, but was a lot of fun to drive. Ferrari Mini Cooper and from my hometown, Harley-Davidson And then, there's the good stuff...
  13. Nice photos, Plahgat. Sam Bar looks interesting. I remember the first music festival in 2005, headlined by Tata Young.
