Pattaya bar scene is great but I found after 3 years I was ready for a change and moved to Bangkok where there are more things to do. Always rent pussy.

Club Electric Blue was one of my favorites back then, especially the Beaver Bar.

day visa runs Pattaya to whereever?
RhinoTusk replied to fttrading09's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My complaint with Five Star Visa Runs is that they serve too many baked beans in their breakfasts. It's not the English breakfast you get at the Sportsman's Pub but a variant that's very heavy on the beans and it's difficult to beat the Russians in a farting contest to the border. So I recommend First Class Visa Runs, located in the Queen Vic on Soi 6. Both these companies are more expensive than others but they do provide more service, like movies and Wifi. -
Be aware that when you have your retirement extended another year you're still required to do the 90 day reporting. I made the mistake of skipping it last year, since I'd given my address on the extension, and had to pay a 2000 baht fine. You only get a new 90 day clock when you enter the country.

Best Pizza i had in Pattaya, Pizza Big and Lee's Diner, were just OK at best. While living in Pattaya, i gave it up. Started believing you can't get good pizza in Thailand. Best thing you can say about Pizza Hut is they can deliver in 15 minutes. However, coming home from Soi Cowboy last night I stopped at Pala at the entrance of Sukhumvit MRT. Just before closing they're half price (45 baht for large slice), real mozzarella, mushrooms, even Italian sausage.

I rode down to Ban Chang on my motorcycle last year just to check the place out. I also had lunch at the Beaver Bar (or maybe it was Camel, I can't remember), the club sandwich was more like an egg sandwich, better (and cheaper) at Cafe Pittini on Soi Buakhao. Took a ride along the beachfront, not very impressed with the town. Maybe it's better at night? I hope so.

Best place to get American food in Bangkok
RhinoTusk replied to short's topic in Restaurants and food
This thread reminded me i haven't tried Bourbon Street at the new location and I was at Gateway mall yesterday so I stopped for dinner. Seafood Gumbo (150++) was disappointing, had to spice it up with some Gumbo fire. Served with corn bread, a little dry, but the Hurricane (190++) was liberally spiked. For the main course, I ordered the Dutch Mussles with garlic bread and angel hair pasta (350++), which was very tasty, especially with a second Hurricane. Pecan Pie for dessert, the two large scoops of ice cream prevented me from ordering a third Hurricane. WBA on the Telly, and they really need to upgrade the background music, KC & the Sunshine Band just doesn't do it. Check bin was 1331 baht, including tax and service, for soup, entree, dessert, and two well-oiled drinks. Not bad for Bangers, had I been in N'Orleans would not be impressed, but had I ordered a third Hurricane would have achieved nirvana. -
Good timing for me, I have to top up my account next week for the next retirement extension. X was 41 THB/USD when I moved here.

They're very friendly in The Arab's bars if you'll buy a 240 baht lady drink for a Welcome girl that you can't bar fine. But What's Up is still a much bigger rip-off for bill padding, and Soi Cowboy bars haven't yet started substituting Thai whisky for Jack Daniels like they do in some Nana bars. -

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try. The reds from Suzy Wongs flushes the yellows from Dollhouse across the street.
