  1. I use this http://www.ustvnow.com/ you're supposed to be a us citizen. They have the commercial channels from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania streamed across the internet for free, you just have to register. I used it to watch the Superbowl earlier this year, otherwise use it to watch Seinfeld reruns. Not HD quality but good for free, I run a cable from my laptop to my big plasma TV. Paid packages are also available.
  2. Nice, Isn't it? More chrome for the Captain.
  3. The best part of the show was Sunday night http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/59120-the-2012-miss-pattaya-motor-pagent/
  4. They don"t serve breakfast, the mall doesn't open until 11, except for the MacDonalds in the front which opens at 9.
  5. Not recent. She came from Rainbow 4 in Nana Plaza. But the last time I saw her she was working at Kiss on Soi Cowboy, not a bar I'd recommend.
  6. I have a picture of the room. I could just imagine what the burka babes were saying on the elevator while I was bringing this one up.
  7. They charge 1000 baht joiner and the hotel is showing signs of aging.
  8. I went there yesterday, not a long hike since I live next door. Mushroom burger was very tasty, with fries and unlimited beverage (unfortunately not available for Heineken draft) for 239 I think. Much better than MacDonalds or Bk I'd say. Sure, the burgers are messy, they're supposed to be, it's their claim to fame. Now if there was only an In-And-Out Burger.
  9. I've stayed at this hotel many times. Definitely ask for a room in the back, the noise from Sukhumvit can be disturbing. The 999 walk-in rate is a great deal, but only available weekdays I believe. However, I prefer the City Lodge on Soi 19. For only a few hundred baht more, the rooms are larger and location is ideal for either BTS or MRT, and right next door to the new mall, with a 6 or 7 minute walk to Soi Cowboy.
  10. I stopped there for Taco Tuesday a few months ago, my mistake. Only Blue Parrot now for my Mexican food fix. I do enjoy the mango margaritas at Tequila Reef, however.
  11. Beefeater has all-U-can-eat ribs, with chicken and make-ur-own tacos Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 for 250, one of the better deals in town I think. BTW, there's an Outback in Siam Discovery Center in Bangers, but haven't tried their ribs, just the ribeye.
  12. I tried the full rack ribs here, wasn't real impressed, but sure didn't leave hungry, sides were huge. Was also disappointed in the China Garden, same ownership, wouldn't dine there again. At Jolly Frier, fish was good but chips were awful. Many thanks to the OP for taking the time to do an excellent formal review.
  13. The Cool House Restaurant on Pattaya Klang near Beach Road has a 50 baht breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 toast with jam and butter, pineapple juice, coffee or tea, and choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. Since Sailor Restaurant includes all 3 for only 5 baht more, it is better value, but Cool House has free Wifi.
  14. I had breakfast at the Sailor Restaurant just this morning. Either it's still 55 baht, or I left a 1 baht tip.
  15. Good combo plates for 250, pitcher of margaritas for 470. My favorite place for Mexican in Patts.
  16. That's true but the OP states he has a multiple-entry tourist visa, so he gets 60 days on entry regardless by land or air.
