Always reminds me of the “stunner” you took back that night………….Then when you see her in the morning with no makeup and in daylight. Some things should be kept in the dark.

After a good few years visiting Thailand these little pests can get on your nerves in every tourist town from Bangkok to Phuket and especially Pattaya. Its especially annoying when you meet the same one every day as you leave your hotel or go on your daily rounds, three times a day of saying “no I don’t want a suit” can get pretty grating. My solution Take The War To Them. I like to stroll soi 6 and anyone who knows there is a particular annoying bastard at the beach road end who will even bother you if you stop at Stone Oven for a meal and a drink. Second time I saw him I thought “I’m going to get you” As he approached I looked him straight in the eye took a few strides towards him ( I can already see his eyes saying WTF) grabbed his hand in a very firm grip (important Do not let go until he begs) Then started on my sales pitch. “Hello my friend can I interest you in some shorts and a Singa vest? Very cheap, the best in Pattaya , you wont get a better deal mate.” All the while dragging the little bastard towards Beach road saying “come on come see we have your size” etc I nearly had him on a Baht Bus before he said “please you don’t want to buy a fuckin suit I get it” You should have seen the cunt run into his shop on my next trips up there. Please everyone start doing this if they annoy you annoy them back maybe they will get the message. :thumbup

My very amateur and clumsy review of this book; A well written very entertaining and for me at the same time gripping and educational (re historic Thailand) book about one mans innocence been “lost” in the drinking clubs dance halls and brothels of 1950’s Thailand. After a journey that starts with his goodbyes at his family home, a rectory in the leafy English countryside, via his landlady’s house in north London. A plane journey that will have those you that begrudge a couple of hours stopover in a modern airport thanking your lucky stars. The rest is set in Bangkok and some (in those days) far flung places in Thailand. The description of the ex-pat lifestyle and the “scene” of the time bears out the old Thai phrase “same same but different” Including police corruption, Samlor (Baht Bus) mafia etc. It basically is a one sided love story with our “hero” been milked dry by a Thai “Dancing Girl” (sound familiar) It kept me entertained and turning pages (on the Kindle) with the author filling in little bits of back story as to why “Wretch” is the way he is to this girl “The White Leopard” and why she is who she has become. The only slight downside for me was towards the end I thought it was going to end in a shocking brutal climax and then it just sort of went to a semi happy ending. Reading the “About the author” section at the end it is clear there are parallels with his own life in England and the far east and his extensive knowledge of the area is evident throughout the book. All in all a bloody good read that kept me engrossed and entertained me and in the end that’s about all I expect from a novel. Well recommended for jaded ex-pats wide eyed newbie’s and all in-between. :thumbup

Some small power outs in soi LK last night but nothing major. Got stuck in Sugar Sugar being molested by hot women was a trial till the rain stopped. Looks like it will be the same soon as I can see lightening getting closer from the SE of soi Lengkee

I’m staying here at the moment Jacuzzi room, an absolute bargain at 100thb a night. I move to the smaller room on the 17th but after having a look in one they still seem VFM at 650thb. Me and KP ate there last night and both enjoyed our meals we both struggled to finish a starter and a main as the portion sizes are quite generous I doubt I could do a 3 course meal there without starving my self during the day. The food was very good and tasty, though I had a bit of a wait from my egg fried rice arriving to the Crispy chilli beef. They were quite busy with orders coming out all at the same time though and it’s a minor complaint in Thailand. The wine was also very drinkable at not to silly a price. All in all a thumbs up from me and will certainly eat there again.

Posing with "Tame" Zoo Animals

You say it’s your favourite animal yet condone the poor bugger being drugged out of his skull so you can have a holiday snap. -
Posing with "Tame" Zoo Animals
Montydog replied to sabaidii2's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I’ve never liked the practice and have never participated. Most of these animals are sedated so that they can be used to generate revenue for there handlers, a cruel practice that if you’re an animal lover you should not condone. -
Look interesting, never seen them before only the Spy ones
