I've been here long enough that I've started to incorporate UK/British slang into my vocabulary without even noticing it. Other words, for which I cannot find decent Americanisms are: slag, as in harshly criticize minger, unattractive or gross -- by the way, I'd only use this in writing, because I don't know if it is pronounced with a hard or soft "g". football, a game where people move a ball around with everything but their hands. Why isn't it called "nohands-ball"? shag, okay, we got that from "Austin Powers", so it's now almost American too whinging, we say "whining", but it's nice to drag out the "ng" sound to make it even more emphatic wanker, what can I say about this? We just don't have a word for someone who masturbates excessively...well, maybe "pud puller". So, if you hear me using these words, and you're from the UK, I'm just borrowing them because they are so apt for the situation. As they way, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery."

I'm going to do my best to be over there. What time do you start the festivities?

Ok, here's one I noticed last night that could get someone confused. When an American says "fanny" with regard to a girl, he is referring to her buttocks. Apparently, the English use "fanny" to refer to the vagina (cunt has too many meanings to use in this case). So, regarding sexual activities, if an Englishman were to ask an American if he could shag her fanny, she might not be "that kind of girl". I know, this isn't one of those favorite words....maybe we should have another thread for words like "fag" and "fanny" that are miles apart in meaning.

Oh, I hear it all the time. I just can't bring myself to include it in my usage. It's probably the most useful term of address in the language, since it can be used for complete strangers or for bosom buddies. And, yes, it's great when you can't remember someone's name.

I'm starting to think that calling someone a "cunt" is natural. I haven't gotten past calling someone "mate". Another is "what are you on about?"...sounds English to me. And, lastly, I've expanded my understanding of the word "piss" to include being drunk and fucking with someone's head.

Yes, those were the days I was having trouble as well. The server was working fine, but the network seemed to be flaky. Seems fine today.

I think it's possibly related to the links from Thailand to the USA server. Yesterday, I got a lot of timeouts trying to access pattayatalk, flbbar, pattayapages (all on the same USA server). I was chatting with a friend in the USA and asked him to see if he could access any of the sites, and he said all was fine. Anyone outside of Asia having the same problems?

Actually, I have read most of them. I'm starting to think he's a bit funny. He's just flooded the forum with an accumulation of his posts that he couldn't post earlier. I suspect they'll slow down soon. Also, if nobody responds to them (since he never answers anyway), they will drop off the VIEW NEW POSTS search right away. A couple of days ago, he was riding north on Pratumnak before Pattaya Tai, and I had him in the sights of my car hood (bonnet to some of you). Was I tempted? I'll never say.

So, just 7 days. That's pretty speedy...especially compared to the 25 days or so it took my small parcel.

What advantage would a Non-Imm O-multi have over a retirement extension with a multiple reentry stamp? The latter can be obtained here without relying on a trip to the UK. Not arguing, just curious. I can't think of an easier visa to get and maintain than a retirement visa, if you meet the requirements, of course.

If you keep this up, next year it might be worth getting a multiple reentry permit, and if you keep traveling around within every 90 days, you never need to go there again for a year. The 90 day reporting processing is very quick though, isn't it? Sometimes, I forget to bring a pen when I go there, and it takes longer to find a writing instrument than to get the new reporting date.
