  1. In economy, I prefer the aisle seat, and those fat bottomed wenches are always overhanging my armrest as they come by, so, yes, I do care that the FAs are not bottom heavy. They swish and bang both sides of the aisle as they move through the plane, and they're not that eager to even get up and serve drinks, much less answer a call button.
  2. Well, our mayor, whose father is known as "the godfather of Chonburi", says there is no mafia in Pattaya!
  3. No, you must be wrong. Our mayor has said the jet ski scammers have been put out of business! [emoji14]
  4. Once on a United flight out of Narita to San Francisco, where I was travelling economy class, the meal service was described as "chicken or beef?". That was the extent of the question the old bag asked to get our meal choice. I ordered the "beef", and while eating the sweet corn, I bit down on a bit, and I heard/felt a loud crunch at my back tooth. I retrieved the offending crunchy bit and it was a piece of broken glass. I pressed the call button and the biddy came back looking at me as if I'd caused her a great deal of trouble getting her off her ass somewhere. I showed her the glass, and
  5. Well, recently I have been satisfied with their delivery system and the way the new pumps are working. For one thing, because they are new, I can read the meter from the bike or car to verify they are reset. Any problems in the past (however long ago that was) are of no matter to me now. I'll have to watch more carefully next time I travel up Thapprasit. I've only moved to this area recently, and probably only gone up Thapprasit as far as the petrol stations a handful of times.
  6. First good cup of coffee from my refurbished Saeco Magic Deluxe this morning! Ahhhhh!
  7. Nice to see a post from the old "hood", Hawkster!
  8. It'd be great to hear from some who seldom or never post because they have no input about Pattaya or for any other reason. This is your chance to introduce yourself by giving a bit of info about yourself.
  9. I've never seen anyone take their pet rabbits to the beach...nice one!
  10. Just picking up my automatic coffee/espresso machine and having a snack at Bon Cafe, Naklua.
  11. Well, I was informed by a long standing acquaintance of his that he had gone to NZ for months, but wasn't letting on that he had. It's possible he came back, since he's been talking about a new development regarding the website....that comment in his Thai Visa tirade was what led me to believe he was still here. He's the modern day Scarlet Pimpernel it seems. "They seek him here, they seek him there, those Frenchies seek him everywhere. Is he in heaven or is he in hell? That damned elusive Pimpernel."
  12. Considering that this topic has been viewed by 36 users, but only 4 of us have written anything, does that mean that the other 32 of you have nothing going on at all? Just to keep it going, I'm drinking my 2nd cup of instant coffee , waiting for the missus to wake up so we can drive to Naklua to pick up my espresso/cappuccino machine from Bon Cafe, where it has been being repaired for the last 3 weeks. This machine was the one used at FLB for so many years (11) and came home with me. It's worked like a champ all these years, but finally gave up the ghost. I figure if I start getting re
  13. Regarding the one near 3rd Road and Pattaya Tai, they've installed new pumps and meters, and I believe they have put a stop to the cheating now. I use that one all the time, and they haven't done a cheat in several years. As far as I know, there is only 1 on Thapprasit close to Sukhimvit. As jacko says, there are loads of them on Sukhimvit going north...less so coming south, but a few.
  14. I made a steak tonight using oven, sear, sear technique, aiming for rare medium rare. It was a 1 1/2 inch cut of Australian rib eye. As graymatter says, I know how to cook a steak the way I like.
  15. You're absolutely correct. He's back in NZ now. I should have known the slimy squirt wouldn't have the nerve to post his last hatchet job while still in Thailand.
  16. Watch this video in full screen on a decent sized monitor or TV... The effect is surprising.
  17. If you're out and about, or just kicking back, or if you're doing something special or something boring, share it in this thread and let's see where it goes. It doesn't matter where you are, be it Pattaya or outer Mongolia...just pop in and give all of us a look into what's doing with you. This is essentially what a facebook status post is (in many cases). Me? Right now I'm cooking a nice, thick, 500g Aussie ribeye steak and a potato and about to go watch Vikings season finale. After that, I might just post something from a Friday night on the town.
  18. I grew up on a ranch that raised registered polled Hereford cattle, and we never ate our product. My father named every cow and calf, and it would have been like eating a household pet, in his eyes.
  19. I'd go for the pan fried potatoes myself. I doubt I could do justice to a meal like that...it would definitely be doggie bag time for me. Does Luger's spit in your face laugh at you if you ask for a doggie bag?
  20. Don't take them to Phuket!
