  1. lanzalad, Considering the willy-nilly and unpredictable behavior of the board admin on live, putting the support forum there is not a good idea. Many members who happen to have crossed swords with him for one reason or another are banned from that board or won't be allowed to join for a multitude of reasons. I know not everyone has FB, but it seems that would be a better place to put a support forum...or here if you want. Or you could hedge your bets and at least have another support venue rather than putting your eggs in that one basket. BTW, rather than my bringing my box to you to repair the XBMC configuration, would it be possible for you to create an XBMC backup file that you could send by email or post somewhere so it could be downloaded by those who get out of sync with your updates?
  2. 4niceight, thanks for the first hand story of your surgery. Now, it's 5 years on since the surgery...how is your vision, both right and left eyes..and are you able to see without glasses for distance and reading? Did the floaters eventually go away?
  3. Thank you, ikkrang. Good information. I'm sorry you had the complications along with the procedure. Good luck with your vision and photography going forward.
  4. ikkrang, did you go to the SuperSight clinic, and if so, what doctor was your primary on the surgery and treatment?
  5. I think he's asking how many hours or which hours does this special apply? Is it all night, every night or only during certain hours or days?

  8. The question about privacy of the Messenger function of a particular forum came up recently (Live was the forum, but the Secrets board also admits it does it) and the admin said all Pattaya forums have installed the modification to enable certain classes of member (admin, moderators, I suppose) to read these messages when they are not directed to them. We at Pattayatalk value your privacy, and we aren't really interested in what you have to say to each other, but mostly we value ethical behavior by the board administration and moderators. I consider this modification to be a breach of trust between the membership and the forum leadership, and will never install such a modification on this forum. If you choose to post on a forum that doesn't value your right to privacy, that's your call, but you have no need to worry about that here. To all the other forum admins who come up with excuses why they installed the software to read your private messages, I say, you do it your way and I'll do it mine, but don't lump me in with your lack of ethics.
  9. I did some inquiries into this a while ago, and as I recall, the price for the procedure was in the 200K range.

  14. Good to hear, travlr!
  15. They are about to complete Cartoon Network Amazone in Najomtien, if that is what you mean. For info, click the link.
  16. Idefix, 2 years ago, we had that huge flood on Sept 12, 2012 that flooded all the bars on the beach side of Walking Street and caused much hardship throughout Pattaya. As I recall, that was the year when they were trying to push water out of the Chao Phraya River into the sea in Bangkok with outboard motor boats (LOL). Was it really that dry that year? I didn't pay attention to the water levels in the reservoirs at that time, so don't know if the rain was sufficient to fill them, but I do know that seemed to be the wettest September I could recall. This month has been, with the exception of that one big rain on the 14th, dry as I can ever remember for Sept. Let's hope the rain comes in October this year then.
  17. Haha..maybe they mean to make it free to PattayaTalk members then.
  18. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "all you can drink" and "free..mixers"? Mixers are free everywhere when ordered with an alcohol drink, so that is no distinction. All you can drink is possible everywhere too if you have enough money. What exactly are you offering that is different?
  19. More to the point, NYD says on their Caesar Salad menu that it contains anchovies, but it didn't. When I brought it to the manager's attention, she said she would change the menu, rather than get anchovies!
  20. Hope so, because it was Clint Eastwood in one of the Dirty Harry movies... Google just said it was Magnum Force, but without Google, I'd only get Dirty Harry. Passing on... You know how to whistle, don't you?
  21. MLC, I don't think much of that stuff in your TV will work here in Thailand..unless you can set up your TV software to use a VPN and bypass geolocation so that Netflix will think you're in one of their supported countries. That's why we use Android boxes, because they have the ability to run lots of software to bypass the commercial limitations put in by the big content distributors hand-in-hand with the big electronics manufacturers. Enjoy your new TV, but don't bring it to Thailand...oh, BTW, I can bring the Android TV box to USA or any other country with internet and it will work just as well...fits in my luggage much better than a TV.
  22. And to think, New York Diner, with all the money behind it generated by Insomnia Group, cannot even afford to buy anchovies!
  23. Yeah, that shrimp linguine is wonderful indeed. It was the first dish I tried there, and I found it hard to try anything else with that on the menu. I will say, I've tried the pork schnitzel twice and been disappointed both times, so I think I'll just pass on that from now on.
