I can answer that! Yes, they are just Android boxes (think Android smartphone with HDMI output and a remote) that work off the internet...they work everywhere you have WIFI access and internet connection. In short, they'd be great for the traveler.

You scooped me on the story...well done. I think it would be fair to move Italy up in the Group D, rather than Uruguay. The bite occurred at the 79th minute, and if seen by the referee would have gotten Suarez a red card. 2 minutes later, Uruguary's Diego Godin scored their only goal at minute 81. Would they have scored that goal without Suarez on the field? Was Cheillini and the Italian team still seething at the poor sportsmanship that had been allowed on the field? Nobody knows, but FIFA should just consider the match a tie, in which case Italy advances by virtue of 1 point goal difference. FIFA can take the heat...do it! Everyone hates you anyway.

Last night I went to Irovers on Soi LK Metro. I parked in their untended parking area, but had to park in a second row of bikes, which were all blocking bikes in the front row. I made sure my steering wheel was not locked, and then thought to secure my helmet in the luggage area, instead of leaving it sitting on my rear view mirror as I normally do. This is a departure from my normal parking behavior, since my brightly colored helmet gives me a quick visual aid to where my bike is. However, if someone had to move the bike, the helmet would undoubtedly fall, hence my need to secure it to the bike. I retrieved my key and placed it in the keyhole, unlocked the luggage area, secured the helmet and then went into Irovers to watch the two Group B football matches. Incidentally, I was supporting Uruguay solely on the basis of them being neighbors and the presence of Suarez, who had made Liverpool's season so exciting. I later found myself wishing Italy had won, after Suarez had a snack during the match. Anyway, when the match finished, I visited Showgirls and then Lady Love. I left Lady Love about 3am, planning to head home. When I got to my bike, I reached for my key and it wasn't there. I checked all my pockets, shown a light under the bike and the surrounding area to see if it was on the ground, but I already knew what had happened. I had a clear visual of leaving the key in the lock after securing my helmet. Damn! Okay, someone had taken the key, if that was the case, but who? I went back to Irovers and asked, but they said no one there had brought it in. I called the missus and said, bring me an extra key please. She was none too happy about this request, but said she would get dressed and comply. While waiting, I glanced over at the mototaxi stand about 10 meters away. I couldn't imagine them having any reason to come into the relatively closed off parking section of Irovers, but since I had time on my hands, I went over and asked a large female driver if they had a "goonjay" (key) for that motorbike over there, pointing at my bike. She said, this man keep for you, pointing at a smallish middle aged mototaxi guy. She let out a burst of Thai to him, he came over, reaching into his pocket, and handed me...MY KEY! Then he walked away! I had to follow him to give him a 100 baht tip, which he sort of reluctantly accepted. I got the feeling he was thinking "why is this guy tipping me for doing the right thing?" Okay, a cynic might suspect he was holding the key to see if anyone came for the bike, and if not, to perhaps have it moved afterwards...but I prefer to think he was just taking care of a stranger who had made a thoughtless error. I felt uncomfortable about taking his picture, but if I could have, I'd post it so that any of you staying in the LK Metro area would know an honest man. P.S. I immediately called the missus and told her the good news. She wasn't as thrilled as I, since she had already gotten dressed and started on her drive to find me.

When I lived at the LK Metropole (for 3 1/2 years), I ate at Patrick's once. I had Beef Bourguignon, and it was very disappointing. I never felt the desire to go back, especially with Beefeater so close by.

I read your post and can sympathise (that's a crumb for our cousins there). Then I read your sig and cracked up. I wonder if England will show up for tonight's meaningless match with Costa Rica. The Italy Uruguay match will be a slugout match with the winner moving up...a must win for Uruguay. Suarez had better wear protective padding.
