  1. If a single guy went to the pharmacy, it would be nice if he could try it on with the store assistant. She's got a nice rack!
  2. If you rent, they are typically included into the rental amount.
  3. Just checking Thailand International postal rates here , it appears you can send up to 30kg in one package via surface for about 110GBP..(6025 THB). So, for your 70kg,..2 packages at 30kg and one at 10kg would cost 6025*2+2525 = 14,575 baht or about 270GBP. This would need to be verified at the post office...but that's what's on the thai-info internet site.
  4. Would you guys check your allowance now. I bumped it from 500MB to 600MB to see if that is the right setting to change. I just need to know if your remaining space has gone up.
  5. Where I parked, just in front of Marine Disco (Marine 2?), there was a guy who always wore a blue uniform until a few years ago..is he the one who died? He was a very serious, but conscientious guy. I got him to smile one time in about 4 years..it made my day.The lot was taken over by a rummy (drunk) old guy who is basically a lazy grump. There's s kid there who helps out. Same place? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Now I don't either, except next to Secrets. Those guys still (last I dared use them) charge 20 baht...but the problem is if you get there late, you have to use the upper level, which is quite a challenge to get to and find a slot on an unwieldy PCX. Mostly now, when going to WS, I park on 2nd Road..there's usually something available, and it's well traveled, so chances of theft are reduced.
  7. You're counting on the curfew being over by then, obviously. We'll have to see what it is like in 10 days, I guess.
  8. Good point, tallguy...incidentals like cleaning and laundry...not something I come to Thailand to do, while not expensive compared to western rates, are certainly an ongoing cost and should be a consideration in forming a budget.
  9. You're the first that I know of. I'll adjust everyone upward a bit...
  10. That's why, in my answer, I provided figures from when I was living singly rather than as a couple. That longest I was "single" was about 3 months, which was enough time for me to see a significant drop in electric and water usage...here's how that worked out. When the missus was in residence, she did laundry (washing machine and ironing) which increased our electric and water usage. If she stayed home, which she did many nights while I was in FLB, the aircon was on 24 hours in the bedroom, at least. So, for the months prior to her departing, the electric costs were running between 5-6K baht/month. Water was about 500b/month. After she was gone, my electric bill dropped to 2500 baht..a savings of 2500-3500 baht/month.Water dropped 100-150 baht/month, as I recall. So, there's a gross savings of 2600-3750 baht...but I still had to get laundry done. For that, I'd run my clothes down to a local laundry (Express Laundry, 3rd Road) where they would do my weekly laundry for about 750 baht...or 3000 baht/month. As you can see, in the end, I broke even on water, electric, and laundry. Of course, at that point, I was barfining frequently and paying a lot more for those extra items that go along with being single in Pattaya. The point being..two can live as cheaply as one as far as those items go. spike's caveats about children, family, schooling can all be controlled by judicious choice of mate and laying down boundaries. No one has to get taken to the cleaners unless they are inclined to be so. In fact, my monger friend has recently found a perfect match for someone...she is 21, childless, an orphan and has one brother who works as an artist and makes money on his own. He says she is also incredible in the bedroom, exceeding anything to be found at Bliss or Lolitas. I only have his word for all this, but it seems that a girl like that would be less likely to be a drain on the finances. Just a thought
  11. You might not if the ladies charged you more to park your steed there.
  12. You should be aware that many (very many!) of the motorbike parking lots are charging from excess fees to park a PCX (or any "large" bike). The normal bike charge around Marine and Walking Street area runs about 30baht. Parking a PCX, depending on the parking lot, will cost between 50 and 100 baht. For 6 years, I parked my motorbike in front of the Marine Hotel on Marine Plaza virtually every night. I had a Yamaha Nuovo, and I was charged 20 baht until a couple of years ago when they raised the rate to 30 baht. After I bought the PCX, I brought it in the first night, and the guy, for whom I had generated over 50K worth of parking fees over the years, came to me and held his hand out. I gave him 30 baht. He said, "100 baht!". He's never seen me park there again. BTW, I paid 100 baht to park a goddamned car at the same parking area, same guy. So, that extra 2 or 3 inches in width..probably 10% increase over a Yamaha Nuovo (just swagging the numbers here), justifies a tripling of the price. In what Bizarro World does that make sense?
  13. Yep, the little fucker is back...I'll whack it shortly. Seems there is some back door it's getting in. I've not found a solution to that yet.
  14. I'll make it over there some night..this curfew thing has my scheduling all messed up :
  15. I can check if it's returned..it leaves a signature. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. How late do you plan to party? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  17. For electricity, if you plan to use aircon, it's dependent on the size of the dwelling. When I was living alone in a 100sqm 2BR 2BA condo, TV for a couple of hours, refrigerator freezer, electric stove, instant hot water, always on computer, my monthly electric was about 2500/mo. Water was about 400 month. Internet 16 meg download, 1500/mo. Satellite TV depends on the options you choose...maybe max 2000/mo. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  19. I'm at Foodland and have lost all communication to Facebook. Does it mean anything? Not sure these days. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. Okay..will keep an eye out for this. If it's intermittent, it's probably nothing nefarious. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  21. Crappy internet somewhere along the line..possibly overseas trunk lines..haven't seen it today myself, but just woke up. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  23. The Deer Hunter (one of my top 10 all time favorites)
  24. Dr. Olivier keeps limited business hours, so you should call to find out what those hours are. His clinic is perhaps 10-15 minutes walk from Secrets, east on Pattaya Tai, then partway down a small Soi on the right. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  25. Anyone seen this happen since my last reply? I added some security patches to the software since then.
