I was thinking about placing a few sentimental bets for the WC, so I went thru the signup for bet365, only to discover after I'd filled in all the relevant info, that citizens of my country are not allowed to use bet365! Sometimes being a yank is a real burden. Was thinking about a small bet on USA at 225/1 just out of loyalty. Also FYI, www.bet365.com is blocked by the Thai govt, yet mobile.bet365.com is not! USA Group G only has to beat Portugal #4 or Germany #2 haha. Yeah, it's going to be a short WC for USA, I fear. Composed on a mobile phone.

Was the pork moist and not dry? I had the wiener shnitzel last time and it was a bit overdone and dry. I spoke to SunnyV about it, and he said he'd look into it. Based on your report, it sounds as if it's what it should be now.! Composed on a mobile phone. -

Given all the sentiments about Bangkok Pattaya Hospital's price gouging of farangs, I was hoping to use a government hospital - assuming time permits. Gary's assessment of government hospitals above is hopeful. I hear there is one at Sattahip that is pretty good. Either that, or something closer, will be fine. I will carry directions with me. Pretty morbid thinking, I know, but stuff happens. In your initial reply you asked for "the nearest decent fully equipped hospital". BPH fits that description. It's definitely where I'd go for anything serious. Sattahip has a good reputation, though... if you have the time to get there. Composed on a mobile phone.

It's a small hospital. For the best care and equipment locally (and the highest prices) Bangkok Pattaya Hospital is your best bet. Composed on a mobile phone.

Triangle Bar Business Thread

Lol, neither could I, of course. I think Mick Jagger might be able to. The way I ate it was to attack it as if it were a sphere, from 360 degree approaches. It was a delicious burger, well worth the effort! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

If you do plan to get health insurance in Thailand, I think you need to do it before age 60. After that, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get. That's been my experience anyway. I've had to go with self-insured, due to lack of foresight in that regard.

LOL. Thought of this thread when I saw that story...lots of undesirables in those arrested. I doubt I'd want to pick from that group.

No no. I just saw this on Facebook. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

jacko, I've seldom found any squeeze that a smaller bike can get thru that I can't get thru on the PCX. Not being able to squeeze ahead can really piss off the other riders behind me, so I'm highly motivated to work out the angles of approach. I might have to duck walk it, rather than use the engine, but I will get thru! One possible problem with the PCX is that the wide side mirrors (love 'em!!) on the PCX match perfectly with the mirror height of baht busses, so a little strategic leaning is sometimes required. Look in this thread...http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/63071-toyota-hiace-1997-28d-mt-2ac-12-seat-for-sale-195000-b/

And this is the reason I made the OP...to let people know that the PCX is frequently put in the "big" bike category...right up there with Harleys and Honda Gold Wings. I've seen the new Ducati shop in central Pattaya...after paying for one of those, I'd not complain about a surtax for parking...because it's justified.
-
No it isn't a good reason to take the baht bus...especially since they don't run from where I live. Regarding the farang tax thing..I'll have a Thai person drive the bike in there sometime and see what they get charged...nice experiment. I'll get back to you on that. I think that explanation is bullshit, but we'll see.
