Not a bad idea, but no, I have no connection or association with Boeing. I've had a life long interest in aviation and when I'm not on Thai related sites, such as this one, I'm on the various aviation sites reading the latest information, mostly on aircraft and a bit about the different airlines.

The 777-200LR has yet to enter commercial service. Flight testing of this new version of the Boeing 777 was concluded October 30th, and the plane is now being outfitted to the buyer's specifications. Its first commercial flight is scheduled for this January, just two months away.

To date 4 Airlines have placed orders or made commitments, PIA, EVA, Air Canada and Air India. The Air Canada order was confirmed and signed yesterday. During the recording setting flight of the new 777-200LR, which should be concluded by now, there were pilots on board from both PIA and Singapore Air. IMHO, over the next 45-60 days you are going to see several orders for the 777-200LR. I wouldn't be surprised to see Singapore Air place orders, as it is rumored they want to dump their A340-500/600s. We may see a large order from QANTAS by the end of the 1st week of December. The Royal Asia Lodge on Sukhumvit Road, Soi 8?

Next door to Ma Maison, to the east, The Golden Crab is doing a 7 or 8 story addition. However it would appear most of the heavy construction has been completed. By the time you arrive in late December it may very well be finished.

It can't be hard to give your opinion on a hotel without dragging the bar girl into the review. The hotel reviews belong in the hotel section. Simple. If not, why don't we just delete all the topic sections and just have a free for all, i.e., anarchy? Makes about as much sense as putting hotel reviews in the bar section. Here are reviews or requests for information found in the first 6 pages of the Member's Bar area. There are no references to bar girls or sexual activities in each author's original question or review. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19090

There is a negative review in the member's bar section: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19077 The whole purpose of having different topic headings is so there is some sense of order and one doesn't have to read every message under every topic to find the information they seek. However, recently several questions, discussions, and reviews of "Hotel and Accomodaton" have been posted everywhere BUT here where they belong.

Some of the airlines save the best seats in economy (is that an oxymoron? ) for those members of their frequent flyer clubs who fly cattle class.
-
Sorry, no. Each airline installs their own choice of seats. The seats on JAL are the smallest I've ever encountered anywhere. Cathay Pacific and Korean Air are far better airlines than JAL, but then that is just my humble opinion. Think somewhere in this section on airlines I once posted a link to a recent survey of Asian airlines and JAL came in way down toward the bottom of the list.

There you go with that slang, again. Anything to do with Public Schools and the local Vaseline concession? Lighten up thechairman18. It is all in good humor.

I agree 100%. Worst travel experience of my life was on Japan Airlines from SFO to NRT. Left late. Arrived late. 14 hours with my knees firmly up against the seat in front of me. EVEN WORST was on the return from Singapore to NRT on a plane Boeing built for JAL with the firm understanding these planes would not be used outside of the islands of Japan, a 747-400D, "D" for Domestic. The entire plane is Cattle Class and carries 568 passengers. About week after this happened I was speaking to the head of 747 production and he was very upset to learn JAL was using these planes outside of Japan

Nah......Only if you are 30 or under and/or the product of the local ghetto high school (or less).

Or "The Head." Is it call, "The Head" on British ships?

Nicely done!

Do you think it would be possible for the Web Master, a Yank I believe, to provide a British Slang to English dictionary??

Thanks for the information. Greatly appreciated.

That should be soon, shouldn't it? Isn't the test flight period for the 777-200LR just about 2-3 week from completion? O & D? Thanks.

Just FYI, from a story dated 16 October: "Thai Airways International will reduce US service as it is not happy with the performance on these routes. On Dec 1st it will reduce the frequency on its Bangkok to New York route from 6 to 4 flights a week while cutting Bangkok to Los Angeles from 4 to 3 flights a week however that flight will go nonstop instead of via Japan. Thai will also revise its Bangkok-Auckland-Sydney route on the same date into a daily Bangkok-Auckland and daily Bangkok-Sydney service."

Just spent over a week at the Bella Villa Prima on Soi 4 and found it far superior to the last Pattaya hotel I used, the Sandy Spring. Stayed on an upper floor, facing west, and had no noise problems. Found it provided all the basic amenities I expect from a hotel but are not provided by the Sandy Spring. However, I do have to admit I much prefer the Soi 13 location to the Soi 4 location. I found little at fault with the Bella Villa Prima. There are very girlfriend friendly, but they do take an un-necessary interest in your "love life." I was talking to the maid one afternoon as she w

What you all Think Of The BELLA VILLA?
Samsonite replied to IRON_JOCK_STRAP's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There are at least 3 Bella Villa hotels in Pattaya, which one are you asking about? Prima, Cabana, or ??? -
Gentlemen, Thank you for your positive comments. Greatly appreciated. BTW, is it necessary to book as a "double" to avoid any "joiner" charges? Thanks, again.

I was just reading the reviews on The Bella Villa Prima and while they are not exactly current there were a couple of very negative comments including money being stolen out of a in room safe. Has anyone stayed there recently, and if so, your opinion please. Thank you.
