On their website today Sakhon Nakhon is coming up at 3000 baht. I am booked on the Nakhon Phanom flight next Saturday 6th June, I paid 3160 Baht, slightly further. I always use their website to book my flights, approximately about ten a year or so. Never a problem with them, in fact when I have had to change flights or missed a flight due to airport occupation they were really good. Another option just now is the special from Air Asia to Udon then the bus or if you have somebody to give you a lift to Sakhon Nakhon. I just booked two return tickets from Udon to Bangkok, depart 15t

Use them all the time flying to Nakhon Phanom and Sakhon Nakhon. No problem with their online booking service very reliable. http://www.pbair.com/en-TH/inside/frameset/home.php They used to fly small embraer 145 jets (very nice), but they have either been taken over or went into partnership with Bangkok Airways/Nok Air earlier this year. They now use Bangkok Airways ATR turboprop Aircraft. Still get you there but takes a bit longer and not so nice aircraft IMHO. Pretty good time keeping normally as well. Some real hotties as cabin crew. Best Regards Fireman Sam

Been roasting here in Nakhon Phanom the last week or so, even the trusty breeze from the Mekong has disappeared. Had to switch on the air for a few nights, and I very very rarely use the air con. Think I'm turning Thai when I start suggesting to the girlfriend that we go to Tesco Lotus for a walk around and free air. Best Regards Fireman Sam

The A380 from London arrives in Dubai around midnight, EK 372 leaves at 09.40 Hrs, hardly seamless IMHO. Great news for the queue's at immigration. Best Regards Fireman Sam Editied because the link went down, just copied and pasted the article as above.

Just a heads up if you use Emirates like myself, you can now print your e-boarding pass when checking in online and proceed direct to your departure gate at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Assuming you only have hand luggage. Best Regards Fireman Sam

CheshireTom wrote I always thought that the legroom on their 747's was pretty decent anyway, is it not something like a 34" pitch. Are you saying that you get even more on the A340-500's ? Agree the IFE needed to be upgraded big time. I have not used them for a few years now, but they are looking reasonable price wise for next year. Best Regards Fireman Sam

I'm sure I read somewhere (probably Thai Visa), they are dropping the need for the compulsory insurance if you have 1st class insurance already. I am sure this applies to cars at least, maybe bikes as well? Being implemented next year I think. A small but welcome saving (at this time), if like myself you have 1st class insurance for the car. I have TT&T in Nakhon Phanom with a 4MB connection, very reliable most of the time. When I moved house they installed the phone line on the same day of asking. No complaints from me regarding TT&T. Best Regards Fireman Sam.

We pay on average about 700 baht a month on electric. But we don't use air con at all, just fans when it gets really hot. Water as everybody says has been free for the last few months, think this stops in January. Still not expensive at about 200 baht a month tops. This is for our house in Nakhon Phanom, think the charges are the same per unit throughout the country from the electric company. Best Regards Fireman Sam

Ye that might be the reason Tom. Come to think of it Dubai Airport was quieter than normal as well. Only 10,000 sleeping on the floor this time. Regards Fireman Sam -

Just flew back on Emirates on EK385, BKK to Dubai at 1.30 in the morning on 2nd October. Use this flight a lot, never seen it so empty, maybe about 30% payload at best. Loads of rows available for stretching out on. Then flew Dubai to Birmingham this had a slightly higher payload but still well short of 50% I think. With the payloads so low will there be a price cut coming, or will they just start axing some flights ? Best Regards Fireman Sam -
Try this, might help !! Click "start" then "run" then type in "msconfig" in the box then click on the start up tab this will show you the programs that are running on your system. Un-check the ones that you don't need running all the time, be sure you know which ones you are turning off before un-ticking them. You can still access the programs via the normal menu or shortcuts on your destop, just stops them running in the background all the time, using up processor power. Best Regards Fireman Sam

Hi eyedot, Good to hear from you. Not sure if the new terminal will be open for your trip, they have not announced an opening date just yet was supposed to be mid 2008. Can't be any worse than the opening of terminal 5 in London. I am out on 6th September back on the 2nd October, will be staying in Nakhon Phanom as usual so will probably miss you in Pattaya. After this trip will be Gold Card with Emirates. Still managing 5 trips a year. I have been looking for a Digital SLR for a while now as well, I am finding that ebay is just as competitive price wise than Dubai duty free, t

gogs007 wrote Try searching their website using the schedule function, it will bring up a wait of about three hours approximately. Of course the price then increases slightly. Best Regards Fireman Sam

Bangkok 2 bedroom apartment.....2 nights Sept 2008

Try these ones, might be a bit expensive depending on your budget. http://www.adelphisuites.com/z1036/index.shtml http://www.somerset.com/thailand/bangkok/s...lake_point.html http://www.bangkok.com/grandmercurebkk/rooms.htm Best Regards Fireman Sam -
I'm not in Ubon, but think you will have to do the footwork on the ground to find anywhere decent to rent. They are not into advertising or putting there house on the net for some reason in Isaan, they would rather see you face to face then decide if you are a good bet or not. I rent in Nakhon Phanom and had to ask the locals and expat's to find somewhere to rent (not easy), took quite a while. I have a small two bedroomed, two bathrooms house with big garden. Air con in both bedrooms and sitting room (air is not really needed up here) used it between 5-7 times in last year. I pay fiv

The labour party have today changed their emblem from a rose to a condom as it more accurately reflects their political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you are being fucked.
