  1. Emirates have now included the free Chauffer drive for First/Business class travel in Thailand, but only within 60 Km of Swampy. Regards
  2. Jacko the chauffer driven car with Emirates is not applicable in Thailand for some reason. No problem in the UK and Dubai, off the top of my head I think they collect and drop off within 70 miles of your departure/arrival airport. Regards
  3. Ye, hopefully will get on the 787 later this year, I think Qatar are due some later this year, depending on which routes they deploy them on. Regards
  4. Emirates have been flying the A380 from LHR to Dubai for a few years now, in fact they are now up to twice daily from there, afternoon and evening departures. They also use the A380 from Manchester on the afternoon departure to Dubai. Soon to go twice daily from there also. The afternoon departures offer reasonable connection times in Dubai for the A380 to Bangkok. Used it plenty of times both in economy and business, imho best aircraft in the sky today. Regards
  5. I realise this won't affect many board members apart from myself and maybe a couple of other boardies that have girlfriends in the Nakhon Phanom or Sakon Nakhon area. From the 15th February next year Thai Air Asia are flying once a day to Nakhon Phanom, depart BKK at 13.20 hrs with return flight at 15.45 hrs. Looks like I wil be on the inaugural flight out of NKP as am due to go to BKK that day. They have a promotional fare of 690 Baht including taxes until 27th October next year. Looks like their normal fare will be around 1200 baht which is still half of what Nok Air charge at pr

  7. My mate just booked with them at the last minute for a three month return, departed UK on the 23rd November returning 21st February, he paid 475 quid. He spoke very highly of them, and managed to get his smoke in Muscat Airport somewhere, which is a deal clincher for him. This is his trip itinerary to save 80 quid, better him than me. Bus from Peterhead to Aberdeen 1hr 15 mins, transfer in Aberdeen approx 1hr, National Express bus to Heathrow 11.5hrs, transfer in Heathrow 15hrs approx, then Oman Air to Bangkok with approx 3hrs in Muscat. He was then going to get the bus to Pattaya but fo
  8. Hi Tom, Thanks for your help, my dates would be for the end of January/mid February, looks like I'm too late, maybe only a limited amount of seats were available for this time span within the offer. Just my luck as usual. Will hold of booking in the hope there are more new year sales in the offing soon. Travelled with Qatar for the first time this trip, was well impressed with them. Thanks again.
  9. Thanks villa but the best price with Emirates via them on my dates is 635 quid. I am in the same position, I received the email from Netflights Emirates 7day mega sale book by 9th December. My travel dates fall within their sale period but keep coming back with 631 quid as the best price, tried various regional departure points as well same result. Find it strange that its not plastered all over Emirates own website as well. When clicking on their special offers/fares only business class offers appear. So has anybody managed to actually book this special offer yet ???
  10. Do you have a direct link to this offer ??? I have been all over Skyscanner and Emirates website direct and can't see this offer. I am getting round the 600 quid mark with both sites. Regards
  11. On finding a pair of her shorts on the ground at the back door I picked them up and left them on top of the nearby washing machine, good deed done. No No you don't understand they are old shorts and are for wiping you're feet on before entering the house, okay, but what about the many many door mats we have purchased over the years, still waiting for a reasonable answer. Still got to love em !! Regards
  12. I flew with Etihad earlier this year on a 777 and can confirm they did have ten across in economy, only with less legroom than Emirates, and a bloody footrest that got in the way of getting comfortable either up or down. I wasn't impressed with them at all, mainly due to the leg room. Give them credit for their food though, it was reasonable. Much prefer Emirates, flying with Qatar in a couple of days for the first time. Regards
  13. When the original post was made paps in 2009 it was in the secure area. If you look at the index page for this section just before the page numbers you will see a small icon, this indicates that the topic has been moved. Regards
  14. Pretty sure that the Royal Thai Airforce has their headquarters there. Also a Thai Airways maintenance facility situated there I think. Although the floods have reached the Lat Krabang area not sure if they have actually reached the defensive walls surrounding swampy yet. Hope not as I arrive at swampy on the 26th November. I travel between both airports 10-12 times per year, Don Mueang IMHO is well past it's sell by date, even with Nok Air moving to terminal one the old international terminal. Make life a lot simpler if they relocated to swampy on a permanent basis, al
  15. The Kuoni deals were indeed available in the early eighties. My first to Pattaya was with them in July 1983, ended up in the Asia Pattaya Hotel for two weeks. Was a relativity new hotel in them days. Regards
  16. Could the cost of repairing Don Mueang be the final death knell for the old Airport, or are there too many vested interests there for that to happen ?? What do you reckon ? Personally I would like to see everything transfered to Swampy full time now. Regards
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yXy4YGOyvU Would pass a few minutes whilst at airport. Regards
  18. More problems for them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15587519 Regards
  19. Lovely looking bike !!! Hmmm ??
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motogp/15420069.stm Another bad day for Motorsport.
  21. +1 for me, used one of these guys last year to repair a strap on an original Ellesse watch. Cheap as chips as well if my memory serves me correctly. Regards
  22. I visited the 'manage my booking' section a few times after booking, all with the same result, aisle seats blocked off. I tried again yesterday and now receive the message 'error some or all of my flights may have been cancelled please contact the airline' hoping that it is just an error with their new website and will become available soon. If not, I will give them a bell in the next day or so and also ask about aisle seats. Regards
  23. Hi, I have just booked my first trip in Y with Qatar for a Nov/Dec trip. When completing the on-line booking and going through the seat selection process I noticed that all the aisle seats were not available for pre-booking. Does this change when on-line check-in opens 36 hours before departure ? and if so does this make it a mad rush to get an aisle seat, or, are they given out only at the airport check-in ? As you might have guessed I prefer and aisle seat. Regards
  24. I have flown with Etihad this year already and wasn't overly impressed to say the least, but thought at 484 pounds from Manchester I could manage to live with them again for that price. My travel dates are 25th November out return 14th December from UK, as I processed through the booking when it came to seat selection (which was before payment) I could only select one of three legs from AUH to BKK no other legs were available for seat selection. Not sure if this is just a glitch in their website, or they have oversold the aircraft in Y due to the sale. Anyway gave me cold feet, I canno
