  1. Etihad have 10 across in economy on their 777's, just for your information. Regards
  2. Ye, I have been watching it on the box also, great viewing, I love watching the Thais supporting their national team. Think that puts them up to number 11 provisionally in the world rankings. Local girl to these parts in the team http://www.sawasdeenakhonphanom.com/4481.html so well supported here. Regards
  3. Well done on beating the Japanese in a pretty one sided final to become Asian champions again, first time since 2009, I think. Regards
  4. Great photos, very sobering, thanks for sharing. Regards
  5. Nice set of photos as usual from yourself, oh, and happy birthday since we share the same birthday. Regards
  6. I'm in again, changed my team name this season from Nakhon Phanom City to Bangkok Bangers. Best of luck to all managers. Is there a Head to Head league this year ? Does anybody have the code for the FLB League ?? Regards
  7. I thought that the FLB and the Cherry Bar League were two separate leagues last year ? I was in the Cherry Bar League last year just finishing outside the top ten, anybody know if this years league is up and running yet ? Regards
  8. Be nice if they took this opportunity to replace some of their ageing cabin crew at the same time, lol. Yes it looks good in their livery. Bad news I just checked seat guru and economy is showing only 31in seat pitch, so same as all the other BA planes. Regards
  9. Point taken mate, certainly sounds as CAL business class offerings have improved vastly since I last used them. I was referring to their old 747's when the business class was in the upstairs section of the plane. Enjoy your flight. Regards
  10. Always found China Airlines business class more akin to a premium economy sort of product myself. I am presuming they still use the 747's on the AMS route to Bangkok. Much better of paying slightly more and going with any of the middle eastern carriers. Agree with with you always had good service from Gazelle travel when I used them in the past. Regards
  11. Shouldn't be just too taxing on your driving skills, not sure if the second driver passed or not but wouldn't be surprised if she did. Regards
  12. Here is CTH new rates. A lot cheaper than True Visions were. http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/news/353506/cth-sets-b899-monthly-fee Regards
  13. Hi, I stay around Swampy on average about 10-12 times a year. I have stayed in loads of the cheap hotels around there, they are nearly all located in the Lat Krabang area of Bangkok. Check out Agoda, loads of choice. If you want a more personal recommendation then - I have settled on the Thong Ta resort now for most of my stays, average price around 700-800 baht for a room including airport transfers, worth paying slightly extra for the Superior rooms in the new wing over the Standard rooms IMHO. The WI-FI is adequate not super fast, loads of small Thai street eateries at end of soi, a
  14. See they are going to alter their timetable, really good timings for myself. http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/aviation/351421/changes-to-ba-london-flights-ahead Haven't flown BA long haul in Y for many a year because their legroom and service on their 747's was abysmal at best. Anybody got any recent experience flying long haul on their 777-200, seat-guru is still showing legroom of only 31 inches. Might be tempted if it's not just too bad. Regards
  15. Superb photos much appreciated thanks !
  16. Would also recommend the Khon Kaen Orchid, I stayed there about 18 months ago, great location, good clean rooms and great service. They have parking downstairs under the building. The Irish owner (forget his name now) is also very helpful for local knowledge and a really nice guy. Regards
  17. Maybe some light at the end of the tunnel regarding availability of the 27' model Tom, or have you managed to get one yet ? http://www.macrumors.com/ Regards
  18. Not sure, it's not something that I have looked for on their site, check it out at http://store.apple.com/th , only thing if buying from there and then intend taking your purchase out of Thailand, I'm pretty sure you don't qualify for the VAT tourist refund when departing Thailand. So don't factor that into your price structure. Regards
  19. Well I can confirm that DHL actually deliver right to your door even in the far North east corner of Isaan, Nakhon Phanom to be precise. I was out when they arrived with the new computer, but the daughter said they had come from Udon Thani, so maybe DHL have a depot there as well ? They never even phoned or text for directions to the house, so well impressed. Computer was actually 6 days ahead of the earliest delivery dates supplied by Apple. Would definitely use the online store again, very efficient. Regards
  20. Not doubting the OP at all and best of luck to him, great way to travel. I was 'Gold, Elite or Top Tier' or what ever you want you call it with Emirates for many years. Their upgrading policy was to only upgrade punters if the class below was over booked, then they started with Gold members and fare paid (booking class) then worked down to Silver etc etc. So to get an upgrade with no status is lucky indeed. Normally the flight dispatcher or office staff decided whom to upgrade as soon as they realised that the overbooking had come unstuck that day, nothing to do with the lounge
  21. +1 for the mac vote from me also. Just ordered from the Thai Apple online store a 21" iMac with the fusion drive and 16GB of memory, showing delivery dates of between 15th and 26th Feb. Think the 27" are showing 3-4 weeks but if you tweak it, then maybe longer as well. Regards
  22. Flown Emirates A380 loads of times, great aircraft IMHO. If Emirates still let you book them and they are available then pick seat 61A,or K, or 81A or K, best seats in economy. A380 upstairs in business, even better if funds allow. Regards
  23. Hope it works out for you Dr Mick, but not looking good for a March holiday. http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/economics/328409/passengers-in-limbo-as-tra-stalls Regards
  24. Would do, but pretty sure they will give me same information as their website i.e 'it will be delivered to your house'. Just wondered if anybody had any actual experience with their delivery service and the use of DHL. Regards
