I stayed in a superior and the water/electric charges ranged from 2,000 to 3,500.

Just got denied a long-stay request starting in September. LK says they're not accepting anymore people at the long-stay rate until after high season. Kinda of bummed about that as I really like the place. Not sure if I'm annoyed enough to take my business elsewhere.
-
I checked it out during my last trip. The rooms are okay. They have good longstay rates. And it's a quick walk to Soi 7/8.

I've used First Class and VIP. Both were fine. I'd five first class a slight edge. My recommendation is to get blitzed the night before and sleep on the van. Sunglasses are also highly recommended.

Is your internet wired or wireless? -
I think the Areca is nicer. There's also much more to do in that area too.

LK'S Pavilion,Metrople,and Mansion
MC_Ldop replied to JOKER's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The room he's talking about is an enormous two-bedroom suit with a large outdoor area and jacuzzi. The living room has a plasma TV. There's a kitchen and a bar. I think it's a reasonable price for what you get. -
LK'S Pavilion,Metrople,and Mansion
MC_Ldop replied to JOKER's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm a big fan of the Metropole. It's my favorite place in Patts for longstay. I don't like the Mansion and Pavillion nearly as much, and the location of the Metropole is ideal for me. The Royal Suites are lovely, but on the end of Soi Buakhao that I don't like. -
Planning my first trip -
MC_Ldop replied to midlifecrisis's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
For a first trip, I suggest one of the Soi 13 hotels. The location is central and it's a good starting point to explore areas you'll come to love. I prefer the Whitehouse Condotel out of all the hotels on Soi 13. I'm also a big fan of the Bella Villa Prima on Soi 4. It'll take you a bit to get to Walking Street though. On the plus side it's a short walk to the soapies, Big C, and Soi 6. -
I stayed here once and agree that it's a lovely hotel. I believe I paid $119USD in January. It's expensive for Pattaya, but you couldn't get a hotel this lovely in the West for that price.

LK Metropole and Sabai Lodge (Sabai Wing) have relatively soft beds.
-
From what I understand, they have sorted their longstay rates. They have greatly decreased longstay rates at the other LK properties. I imagine the Royal Suites will have them as well. I checked out a one-bedroom suite there. It's pretty lovely, but not worth the rack rate.

Bella Villa Prima v/s Sunshine Vista

Yup yup. Though at night there's a bus everyone now and then going down Soi 4 too. -
Bella Villa Prima v/s Sunshine Vista
MC_Ldop replied to Rogueacronym's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I vote BVP. It's a great hotel with a nice staff. Soi 4 is quiet too, but close enough to everything you want. -
I've stayed there and submitted a review. It's a gorgeous hotel, but very expensive. There are definitely better values out there. I wouldn't say it's completely guest unfriendly. If you make it clear up front and have Starwood status then you should be good to go.

Just dropped by yesterday to check it out. Everything seems to be in order (except their email apparently).

accomodation with kithenette

Pattaya Hill Resort suites have a kitchenette. I was thinking of staying there next trip since they have a great monthly rate and it's quiet. -
I second that! Love the burger, cottage pie, fish & chips, etc. Though for ribs I like Cafe New Orleans.
-
Gotcha. I've stayed at the Westin Grande in Bangkok too. The Sheraton Pattaya is definitely better by a significant degree. Most of those beds in Pattaya are pretty hard, hey? I hope you find something that agrees with your back.
-
I would say that the Sheraton is a borderline 5--at least a 4 to be sure. Part of it is room quality, part of it is service, and part of it is the number of staff. It was hard to walk ten feet without someone from the staff greeting me and asking if everything was okay.
-
I just posted reviews of Sabai Lodge and Bella Villa Prima if anyone's interested. In short, Sabai Lodge was nice but really overpriced and BVP is my new favorite.
-
BM Donny recently installed a WiFi router there too. I love to eat/drink there, but I wouldn't stay there--I've had too many drunken incidents with stairs.

High Speed Internet Access in Room
MC_Ldop replied to Hawkster's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I've stayed at the Whitehouse Condotel and Bella Villa Prima. I really liked both hotels. The former has wired connections in room and, as expected, the bandwidth is better. The latter has WiFi throughout the hotel, but lower bandwidth. -
One of the hotels is Mike Orchid Resort. It looks really nice--nicer than the BVP actually. It's more expensive (starting at 1,750) and doesn't have WiFi.
-
I just spent 10 days at the Sabai Lodge (Sabai Wing) and am now at the Bella Villa Prima. I like this hotel much, much better than the Sabai Lodge. It's a better value, I really appreciate the WiFi, and the decor/amenities are better. Don't get me wrong, Sabai Lodge is definitely a nice hotel, but if I had to pick between the two I'd go with BVP. I'll write reviews on both when I get home.
