  1. Ahhhhh now those rates look more realistic,in fact very attractive Quiet area and 2 mins walk from Soi's 7 &8.
  2. Beautiful hotel, dont stay if you are going with buddies or on your own.
  3. Ahhhhhhh yes Seabass, very true.I was just trying to give as simple an answer as i could.
  4. Leasehold option only refers to land,it has nothing to do with condo ownership.
  5. I think its refering to an extension for retirement. There are certain conditions which apply.Over 50 yrs old and either a confirmed income or cash amount deposited in a thai bank.
  6. Double unit........most condo buildings are built as units from around 26sq mtrs to 41 and in some cases 50 sq mtrs.therefore a double unit is 2 of these side by side and will be 1 bedroom 1 living room/kitchen. Rental...........a near guess would be around 20000B per mnth.
  7. Definately not peak season, you will have no problem finding hotel. The Areca loodge on Soi Diana is in your budget, but look through the hotel review section.
  8. Im with Barclays and providing you get a small amount of Baht in cash TC's are free from charges.
  9. Sinbin Ive always advocated using TC's,not only for the slightly better exchange rate but the safety.Of course you must make sure you arent paying any charges to buy them in your bank.I dont Also that you get largest denominations possible
  10. If i called my doc,how the hell would he know where ive been the last 6 mnths. Last yr i spent over 3 mnths in LOS during my last week thought id broken my wrist, bkk pattaya hospital said they couldnt find a brake and told me to check back home if i was still having a problem. Thats what i did, absolutely no problem even though i told them i injured it in thailand.
  11. Just an idea for Mr Toom,as well as name of pickup, have TOOM on the sign too. Might help if there is mistake in writing pickups name.
  12. Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm is there something fishy going on here.A total newbie with his first post backing up Geoff. Hope im being too suspicious,if so,
  13. Yes you can buy condo, one restriction 51%of condos in a building have to be Thai owned. There is however a commonly used loop hole, register a Thai business then you can own land and therefore buy houses. You dont have to run it like a business just register. If you need more info do a couple of searches.
  14. My view would be that you wont get all your wishes cheaply. Very cheap rooms at say 8000B a mnth you will get air con but no pool,ADSL or in room safe. If you go up one level to budget hotel say 15000B per mnth, you probably get all but ADSL. To get all it will cost around 20000B.
  15. Not sure about hotel pools.Try top floor of mikes shopping mall,im told its large.
  16. Yes i did the same last yr.Eventually i walked up the other end and there was my sign.Easy mistake if you havnt been for a few yrs.
  17. Hmmmmmmmm .it does say 50K along side the browse button.I have also tried to upload larger than 50K and just got you are unable to load this file,or something similar.
  18. Ive attatched a pic before,no problem, except i had to make it much smaller to reduce it to under 50K. However i notice that most pix are far in excess of 50K,How is this done.Try to keep it simple im a bit thick
  19. As already said budgets differ.Having said that you cant live forever in holiday mode. Im retiring to LOS later this yr.Im working on around 60-70K Baht a month,i think this is ample for slightly better than middle road living. Hotel....12k/mnth approx on long term agreement.get UBC installed 1.5K/Mnth.this then allows you to have a couple quiet nights per week, lets all the organs recover Summing up whatever you have you can adapt.
  20. Why the hell not Well 12 mnths ago it was around 72/73.
  21. Hey Subliner, I gotta say ,was a mistake by me with the emotes. No offense intended. Steve
