Etihad Sept 06 £385.00 / Etihad March 07 £424.00 from Manchester. Looking at prices for Sept 07 cheapest at the mom is Emirates £490.00. Etihad prices on most websites over £600.00 for Sept 07

Have been many times to Pattaya at diferent times of the year (ie) March - hot and dry with the odd shower - low humidity April - very hot and humid with increasing showers - high humidity July - hot and wet - high humidity September - very wet with low humidity Obviously it can vary from year to year. My favourite time to visit is March !
-
Back in April/May Etihad had flights ex Gatwick/Manchester over the Christmas/New Year period for £400.00 incl tax ! Always pays to book in advance for Christmas/New Year.
-
I think your problem with trying to get a cheap fare for the end of March will be the easter period 6th-9th April. Most airlines increase fares for flights 14 days either side of Easter ! Having booked many flights via the internet i would recommend daily viewing of the usual consolidators websites between 8 to 4 weeks prior to your intented departure.

Neil324 - The point is 'another stealth' tax by the UK Government. Why with only 65 million in the UK would the uk be 'pioneers' with such a tax ? Think about it - if say tax on flight tickets from the UK were increased by 10% who would benefit ? Of course the UK Government ! and the treasury ! If the Chinese are opening a new coal fire power station every 5 days what difference would this extra UK tax have on our world ? This has given the UK Government a golden opportunity to increase yet again their indirect tax revenue.

Easter is 6-9th April so flights are expensive ! try www.myvacations.co.uk who are agents for Etihad. I would expect more reasonable prices being quoted for this period around Jan/feb.

Air controllers ready at new airport (TNA) - All systems of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai) are now fully in place to support commercial operations of Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi Airport. Aerothai demonstrated its full capacity and potential Friday morning when two international flights of Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, simultanenously took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport's two runways in a test run prior to the new airport's officially opening for commercial services on September 28. Two flights, TG8814 and TG8816 flights, bound for Hong Kong and Singapore, successfully took off from Suvarnabhmi Airport's eastern and western runways. The 3,700-metre eastern runway and 4,000-metre western runways are 2.2 kilometres far apart. Thirty five air traffic controllers and officials,, the agency's full personnel capacity for its standard operational services, are on duty to serve the simultanenous test run of the national airline. "It's an unprecedented record, historically, as Aerothai had never served any simultanenous flight take-off," Bhuddawan Noirod, a public relations officer, told TNA. Two additional THAI flights, TG8815 and TG8817 from Hong Kong and Singapore, were to land on the new airport's western and eastern runways simultanenously Friday afternoon. http://www.bangkokpost.co.th/breaking_news...s.php?id=112607 Full Edit Quick Edit solent01 Today, 2006-09-01 17:35:55

Thai AirAsia to move to new Bangkok airport on Sept 25 Budget carrier Thai AirAsia said Wednesday all of its flights will move to Bangkok's new international airport on September 25, three days ahead of the airport's official opening. Thai AirAsia, a joint venture between Thai telecom giant Shin Corp and Malaysia's AirAsia, said its 70 daily flights will shift from the existing Don Muang airport to the new airport on September 25. Airport fees to go up BANGKOK: -- Air passengers will be asked to pay heavier departure taxes from early next year, Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT) said yesterday. The international departure tax would be increased by Bt200 to Bt700 and domestic passengers would incur a Bt100 fee, up from a current Bt50. The increase would be effective from February 1 . AOT operates Suvarnabhumi Airport. It had planned to introduce the new taxes upon the opening of the new airport on September 28. Meanwhile, new landing fees levied on aircraft using the airport would be imposed from April 1, 2007. That is a six-month delay from the original schedule. AOT said it was postponing the new fee to attract airlines to Suvarnabhumi. The new landing fee is a 15-per-cent increase on that charged at Don Muang airport. AOT explained earlier that fees at Suvarnabhumi Airport needed to be raised due to the greater amenities and facilities that would be provided. After 40 years in the making Suvarnabhumi has cost Bt150 billion. It is scheduled to start operations on September 28. --The Nation 2006-08-29

Cybers 1b Ok put your head above the bunker and tell me what you know about the old and new airports ? As you know in Thailand things change from week to week - i even heard today that some tests have failed at the new airport and the opening will now be postponed until early next year ! Who knows what next week will bring ? Perhaps you could give me your knowledge on the opening of the new airport especially as i return to the uk on 28th Sept !
-
Eneukman Sorry but i deal with facts ! and not words !
-
Eneukman If you have it on good authority the new airport will not open on 28th Sept why then have Singapore Airlines advised customers all their flights will operate from the new airport as of 0300 on 28th Septemnber ?
-
And parts of the old airport will be used :- a) Market Housing
-
The new airport opens at 0300am 28th September. Singapore Airlines have notified customers all their flights from/to Bangkok will operate from the new airport on 28th September.

I will be returning back to LOS from Manchester in March 07 - I will wait to book flight until Jan07 when i will expect to pay :- Emirates £480 Qatar £440 Eithad £400 If i book now would expect to pay over £500 !
-
From my experience with flights ex UK i usually get the cheapest prices by booking 6 to 8 weeks prior to departure. This excludes the usual high season periods of Christmas/Easter/school holidays.
-
Manracer402003 Try Ebookers or Travelbag who have flights ex Manchester with Eithad 9/30th Nov for £402.00 incl tax.
-
How about Qatar £369.00 ex Gatwick 7th Sept - 28th Sept ? - Airline Network
-
Did you consider Qatar ex Manchester £379.00 ?
-
So four round trips with Emirates gets you a freebie ? As Emirates are now on average £100 dearer than Eithad/Qatar from Manchester i can save around £475.00 by using say Eithad. ! So is the FF club with Emirates worthwile ? Was a silver member with Emirates but now fly with Eithad from Manchester. Understand Eithad will shortly intoduce a FF programme so if they keep prices at around £400 mark and with a FF programme they will be very hard to beat
-
Would love to fly Singapore Airlines to BKK from Manchester but to expensive ! Eithad £400 Emirates £500 Singapore £600
-
I fly back to the UK on 28th Sept !!!!!!!!!!
-
Cheshire Tom As a silver member of Emirates flying from Manchester usually costs me £500 a trip however i can save £100 a trip by flying with Eithad so what is the advantage of using Emirates ?
