Rolls-Royce has allowed for a charge of £227 million ($315 million) in its full-year results relating to costs associated with addressing in-service technical issues on Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 engines. The charges offset an increase in underlying revenues, up 12% to £3.8 billion, as the company delivered 483 large aircraft engines – a rise of 126 on the previous year – and generated a one-third increase in civil aerospace profit to £520 million.

Boeing 777 safer than A380 ?? Please explain
-
Indeed Emirates have a problem with cargo loads ex UK especially with the A380 Aircraft. Most of the A380 aircraft cargo holds are full of baggage so introducing the B777-300ER will help with cargo capacity. I can see loads of trucks providing cargo for this route ex Stansted from MAN/LHR likewise trucks flow to Newcastle from Manchester/Birmingham.
-
Emirates are leaving a new B777-300ER on the ground in Stansted for 7 hours ?? Dont forget Passengers are not the only revenue stream ! Cargo plays a big part of Emirates especially B777-300ER !
-
Well i am hearing the new 1st class suites on the B777-300ER will be used frequently by the Newmarket crowd !

How can Singapore Airlines scrap a plane they don't own ?
-
Talk in the industry is that Monarch Airlines could collapse tomorrow. Some Qatar A320 have been positioned into UK to help with repatriation of stranded passengers abroad.
-
Deadheading with flight crew on other airlines ???
-
And for some airlines to fly from LHR with empty planes to keep valuable 'slots' !
-
Well your reply tells me you have no idea how the airlines operate especially in relation to airline slots.
-
With your knowledge of the aviation industry perhaps you could explain in a little more detail why is it against regulations Airlines cancelling flights (low season) and consolidating ?

Air France began Concorde service on 21 January 1976 with service from to Rio de Janeiro, with a technical stop at Dakar. (British Airways began Concorde service the same day, flying from London to Bahrain.) Several months later, on 10 April 1976, Air France added Concorde service to Caracas via Santa Maria in the Azores. The United States initially banned Concorde, but U.S. Secretary of Transportation William Coleman gave permission for Concorde to serve Washington Dulles International Airport and service commenced on 24 May 1976. Service to New York was delayed even longer due to a ban by t

EVA have always cancelled flights in low season ex LHR and complaining to Heathrow Airport will get you a fat ZERO. EVA are well aware they have to operate a certain % of flights ex LHR.
-
Sorry but don't understand when you say ''change in aircraft'' EVA have only ONE aircraft on the LHR-BKK route (ie) B777-300ER What other aircraft could EVA supply on this route NONE.
-
Understand Etihad are looking at the idea of allowing passengers to bid to keep adjacent seats empty in economy. Could be an interesting development !
-
Well blow me !!! Having worked at Manchester Airport in airline operations for the last 40 years you learn something everyday.
-
Cannot remember Thai ever operating from Manchester ? Thai Airways have over the last 20 years looked at direct services MAN-BKK and have always rejected it. Reasons being :- BKK is a leisure route and yields are low. Competition from EK/EY/QR/KLM Why dilute your flag ship service ex LHR ?
